they look lovely mate, what do the centre caps say??? looks bit like corrado but its blurry or blingin' in all the pics! :D -
stu, will have a look for you and see what i get. supercharged, the problem with browsers is that the majority of them are designed to look different and have the same options as IE but the problem is that IE is an integrated part of the operating system so any settings you change with any browser installed on your system will be determined by the internet options in the control panel menu on your pc. because of this the opera browser will look different and have slightly different menu options but if you go and look at your internet options in control panel they will be configured matching the exact configuration settings of the browser (such as opera) that you are using. hence the same problem with both! even programmes like AOL, Netscape etc. use the mcrosoft os configuration cos thats the way bill gates wants it! another nice fat premium for him from all those isp's out there that want their programme to be compatible with the mocrosoft o/s!! :x will have to load up opera and see if its any different. will also do some finding out in work as i work for a telecoms company! :D

stu what bit do you want help with? using the pc and browsing on the web in general or sorting out the Bentley manual in the Opera browser??

you have the exact prob that i had. 1) lift the gaiter off the top and look where the stick sits on the horizontal rod. 2) to the right of that on the horizontal shaft there should be a circlip. mine has snapped off at some point (not through my shifting tho) so the stick was travelling too far past 1st, 2nd and couldn't get into reverse at all. 3) the way to tell if this is the problem is that the sleeve of the vertical gearstick shaft should not slide left and right at all without tilting the whole changing mechanism. someone had obviously test driven my car when i wasnt with it (it was in a different country to me!) and not known that you push down to select reverse, forced it and fu*ked it! give it a go and see what you get

dazzyvr6 least i have some evidence then....will have to remember that! you into model planes mate??

i wouldnt really say that superglue is a quick fix cos its brittle when dry so as soon as you turn the wheel if its anything bigger than a pinhole its going to split again. also i totally agree that if the boots are knackered then it will screw your cv joints eventually but mine were split all the way round on both sides of the car before i realised there was a problem so i was diriving round for a good few months with completely split cv boots. to add to that when i stripped them down most of the grease had already splattered all over the alloys so there was barely enough lubrication at all  to add to that again i was living in a desert at the time where there is no better place to screw the cv up with all that nice fine but gritty sand. anyway when i replaced the boots i cleanded the cv joints up and there was no abbrasive wear from grit sand or anything else they were absoloutly fine! :D i already had in mind that it was likely that i would have to replace them both as well but i didnt :D to be as safe as houses you do need to get them done sooner or later but from my experience (i know everyone else may not be so lucky) then as long as you dont leave them for months and months then you should be ok to hold out. when i stripped mine last week to check them a lot of grit was left in the bottom of the tub i washed them in but they were ok at the end of the day! if you want a bit of an instruction guide to follow pm me and i will see if i can type one up for you!

ok nice one! :D noticed you have got a TR6...... kin' fast in a straight line. my dad's mate used to have one a few years back. lovely!! :D

yeah but there is loads of different download locations for this piece of software on the site. there is the dropdown menu that has FTP Norway in it and then loads of other servers all over the place it can be downloaded from?

what exactly do you mean when you say copy the address from the bar in IE accross? do you mean copy the address that the Bentley Manual is showing in IE and paste it into the Opera Browser?? if you have to do this for every single page surely it defeats the object cos the links won't work when you select a topic to view when looking at the URL in the Opera browser?? :? also any particular download location that can be trusted not to have any bugs, spyware or viruses??

Dubprince GSF do the boot kit thats the originals for 6 quid...ish a side!! can check part no's on my receipt if you like? its not that messy and its not that hard to do as long as you have a decent socket set, a pair of axle stands and a BIG bit of pipe to get the hub loose with......and a garage is preferable but not essential!! worth thinking about when your max setback cost for the stands, boot kit and bar is going to be bout 40 quid in comparisson to 100 ish!! (as well as a day's work for the less exprienced) :D
-
kin hell!!!! this doesn't half go on!!! been following it for ages now but am i right in saying that Chris Corrado is correct with his part numbers of V6X2 998 406 and V6X2 998 405 ? :? this thread has got to be the hardest one to follow out of everything i have read!! something definately needs to be done for others to follow it easier and know which parts to get! :?

Stu, i have a similar problem. when i load mine the only tab that i can use is the search tab the other 2 are just blank which is a bit of a pain in the ar*e cos its not that easy to find what you are looking for! :? its about the compatibility with Internet Explorer Version6. apparently it works fine with V5.5 but you can't downgrade as it it an intergrated part of your o/s so if you alter that at all it will make you system critically unstable and possibly not even boot!! i would be interested if anyone has a way round these problems! is there a patch or something that you can download from somewhere??
-
dubprince just done my outer CV boots cos mine were in pieces (split all the way round on both sides) and it took about 2 hours a side including changing the top mounts on the struts at the same time. mine had been gone for a while and i lived in the desert at the time but the CV joints themselves had no damage to them luckily but as the others said, better to do it sooner than later. are you planning on doing them yourself??

talking bout police cars i know that there is an anglian police force that used to have an Esprit V8 at one point. they put lights on the roof and as soon as it got to over 50mph the wind ripped them off!!

sounds like your speedo sender unit that goes into the gearbox is bug*ered cos i had the same problem and the needle just decided if it felt like working or not and then one day it stopped permanently so i replaced it and it was sorted! saying that i had my clutch replaced and the guys in the garage said they knocked it but said if it stops then they would sort it. so they did! with the spoiler is it going up and down with the speedo or is it just randomly working even when the speedo isnt?
-
it says if you click on reserve not met or bidding conditions. but your answer is: no the seller does not have to sell the item if the reserve is not met!

hello mate, LC 6P is 'Dragon Green Pearl Effect' only available on '94 models. there is a word document on one of the threads here somewhere but cant remember where....... i have read far too many in the time since i joined the site! if you want me to i can post a copy on this thread or mail you with it?
-
cheers lads its sorted. :D :D i checked my advanced display settings and i can run the monitor in 60Hz and once i have done that i can adjust the res fine to 1280x1024. it plays a bit on the eyes  cos most people notice the flicker under 70-75Hz but cos i am not looking at it for long then it doesn't matter. i must have a cheap monitor so thats why i have to fart about with the settings to get it to work!! :? its a bit of a naff explanation as to the pricing disk and adding it to the main ETKA as well i reckon. what does everyone else think? anyone like the idea of making an ETKA install troubleshoot as a sticky for all the non-techies on the forum??
-
right, i am running XP and the version of ETKA that i have is 6.02. i also have hardlock on the disk but when i try to run it straight from windows explorer it isnt having any of it! any ideas??
-
probably the wrong topic area but.... i have just got hold of a copy of ETKA but its asking for me to change the screen resolution to 1280 by 1024 for installation but its out of the parameters of the pc cos a note comes up on the monitor. once the resolution setting has been changed to this i can't see the OK, Cancel, Apply buttons etc and any images in the windows that are open! can i get round this at all or just for the install or does it always have to run in this res. setting?
