    Outer CV Joint

Right, after putting everything back together a good few weeks back i have finally got round to moving the car. on turning at the bottom of my drive there was a nasty clicking noise from the left outer CV joint that wasn't just noticable on full lock. it looked dodgy at the time of putting it back on but i just wanted to get it through the MOT and hope that it would hold out till after it when the weather is a bit warmer and i have some more cash. anyway, i have figured that the race has gone on it and just bought this one from GS&F (made by GKN) but the splined section that sits in the wheel hub looks shorter than the ones on the car at the mo by about 10mm from what i can remember. is it just me or does this look different to anyone else out there?? settling my uncertainty would be greatly appreciated before pulling it all apart again, cheers in advance!
  4. i though that the Crossfire was panned for being underpowered and having a squirmy chassis?? not what you want when changing from the corrado as the chassis is so good on it! go for the Nissan 350Z, the Z cars have got a great rep and it looks absoloutly fantastic in my opinion, will leave a lot of things standing even as standard as well, mod it a bit and you will be a force to be reckoned with! 8)
  5. mine has been disconnected for over a year now and mine is fine so as far as i know you shouldn't have any probs! when i put a trickle charger on the battery the connectors would get so hot i couldn't get them off without scalding my hand! i don't think this is normal but everything else seems to be ok!
  6. thats a bloody quick Corrado! it's doing 250kmh approaching the BMW and then goes on to do 290kmh!!! thats about 180mph!!  8) . as its already been said as well its still going when the video finished!
  7. only just graduated and payed off a 2 grand overdraft mate, give me a chance. ive got 500 quid already for it and i have only been working since november to do all that!
  8. mine's absoloutley fine. replaced the belt and removed the charger, did a bit of DIY pipework and no probs at all. its been runnig like that for about 12 months on the road altogether. spose you is the heckspert tho seeing as its your line of work!
  9. i'll have the Garlic Naan option then, init! 0X seriously tho, sounds bloody great!! i take it that the going rate will be POA?? all of these demon mod's are starting to make me dribble..... which is kind of sad really seeing as i still can't afford a supercharger yet.... getting there tho!!!

    ABS light arghhhhh!!

Dr Matt, i havn't found out what it is yet but i get a similar ABS light issure as you! it would be interesting to know what your C's prob is if you get it checked out. mine has some funny clunking noise going on from the breakpedal in the footwell as well tho, i have already posted a thread on it a while back where some of the lads suggested some of the checks above as well as the rest of the sensors but i havn't got round to it yet cos the car is off the road. i know for a fact that when thinking back to when i was driving it around if i was to jam on the breaks hard, so theoretically the ABS would kick in, then the wheels would lock but i would then get a big kick back from the break pedal which felt as if the the ABS would kick on for just one attempt?? the car stops bloody well when breaking from any speed mind but the pedal feels too spongy for my liking!? could it just be an air lock in the lines? :? i don't know what the ABS on the C is supposed to feel like tho cos i have only felt it on newer cars like Vauxhall's, Chrysler's and Jag's. with those its like a judder from the wheels and the berak pedal! i hope i don't have a serious prob, anyone else care to comment?? :?
  11. Sorry Rica, I have the greates respect for any lady who has enough taste to own a corrado! Fwah what a combination!!! how bout some pics of you lovely ladies to go with your motors? :norty: :norty:
  12. how bout Poofta Pink too for all of us with red c's in need of a respray!! :? McNugget Yellow ...... can be found at a McDonalds drive thru near you!!
  13. YET being the operative word, from personal experience i wouldnt even turn the key over if you had a whole apex strip in there, get the charger off and if you have to drive it it will run fine with a bit of DIY pipe work, thats how my car is running at the moment cos my supercharger did grenade unfortunately!! if you are looking at making some money on the car the last thing you want is to have that blow, doubt you would make any money back on it if it does! :?

  15. your right tho, it works in XP as well!!! scrap my word document this works a treat!!! Well done Oichan :D
  16. how did you figure that one out?? i wouldn't have though that telling your computer to trust ist own TCP/IP network stack configuration would have done anything? i woulnt have though that would work cos if you put http (HyperTextTransferProtocol) before the IP address it would just p*ss the pc off and not give you anything (page cannot be displayed or cannot find server) cos you are requesting something to go through a DNS server to transfer the domain into an IP address?? it has to be either one or the other i.e. domain with the http:// prefix OR the IP address? that doesn't make sense whatsoever cos your TCP/IP stack doesnt have a domain as an alternative?? it is certainly as you said 127.0.0.1 but without any http! :? could it just be that Win2k is running with a slightly different registry log than XP and its something to do with the way windows is configured? i know that Win2k has its fair share of probs but having to tell it to look for its own network stack to run an offline programme sounds as if its taking the michael??..... saying that half the time i have to make them look for it in work to get the things online!! some light on the situation would be good as it appears that you are in the know of something that i am not!
  17. mines done 101,000 km (approx 61,000 miles) bought it in 1998 with 92,720 km!!!! :D
  18. i love your avtar mate where did you find it?
  19. Stevie, car looks great mate, but we do need to see those 17's on it!! i like the individuality of the seats and the paintwork! :D 8) Jim, i bloody love the R32 wheels! was wondering what they would look like on a c myself ever since i saw my cousin's R32 when he got it! would R32 seats fit the C as well or are they too tall?? any chance you could pm me with a quick guide on doing the wheels in photoshop, i am not a pc novice but not really used photoshop (is that Adobe Photoshop BTW?) :?
  20. dubster82, dont worry mate 'I' know your joking about Zarman........ a few comments have been passed about my C too, cos i have a nice gay pink roof!!
  21. BOLSTER, i have travelled the route from brighton to swansea and back on a fairly regular basis for the last 4 years while i was at uni and i know that i used to hammer down the M25 until one day when i was sat in a traffic jam going westbound around the heathrow area when i saw a camera click a car going in the other direction! think that i was just lucky in not geting fined but since then i have never gone over the stated variable speed limit just in case cos you dont know which ones are active and which ones aren't! not worth the risk in my opinion cos its only about a 20 mile stetch if that?? saying that before long all the cameras are going digital meaning they won't have to spend 3 grand per film and the pics will all be sent straight to a fines centre enabling all the cameras to be active everywhere, with the potential of snapping hundreds of cars an hour!!
  22. black and not very clean at all VR6 reg: L***TTS looks like its living in my village called Grovesend, near Gorseinon, Swansea! pretty much standard except for a fat block letter/number style number plate and i think it had different alloys but not sure about that one only saw it this morning and tonight parked in exactly the same place! anyone??? also seen it in Llansamlet enterprise park going into a company car park next to the main Royal Mail sorting office, possibly your workplace??
  23. here's a pic of the Canary Yellow one that's featured as the Bentley Manual Coverpage car. i have seen quite a few corrado's with the 3rd break light while living in california and i am not sure about them being honest!? to me they look like an add on that doesn't quite go or fit right. also you cant really see them too well under breaking cos they are quite small. personally i would do the same a Kevhaywire and fit a high level version in the rear window. much easier to both fit and see from behind.
  24. dr matt, funny you say that about japan cos thats where my car had been imported from when i bought it in Dubai in the middle east!! i was running it on 99 RON in Dubai for the 18 months i had it there so it may have been cos it had a rapid octane level decrease from moving from the mid east to CA! :? it probably had issues due to over indulgence seeing as its now approaching its teenaged years!!  the petrol in dubai only cost me 8 quid to fill the tank up as well!!!! :D
  25. dr matt, funny how my corrado hated the us fuel then even using the highest 91 ron available and not from a sht*y garage? as for CA being wierd i do agree to some extent but i have lived in the New England area as well and the fuel was exactly the same there with the RON levels appart from there were a few places that did Premium Plus which was 94 RON. interesting about the different ways of measuring the octane tho!
