  1.  you thief!!!  good choice tho mate  Alex
  2. aaah i think im with you now chrishill! so is that how you get teh effect of wider rims on the back end to the front? i have seen some C's with fantastic looking split rims that alwas seem to be double the depth on hte back compared to the front ones? is it any harder to get hold of tyres to fit if you go for wider ones?
  3. right then....... am i understanding correctly that its 17x8's are the biggest you can put under the arches without making any adjustments to arch liners, grinding things and the likes? whats the 'x8' bit all about?? what about wheel spacers? would i need these regardless? my car is std ride height. cheers,
  4. ok cheers mate! Alex
  5. mine has these > are they the same as yours?
  6. thats the same again for all fords mate as well as having a clutch so ight you dont feel the bite point!!  i commented on the ZX as i think its ugly as thats all, know nothing about thier mechanics
  7. HOLY CRAP! justmatz said its 115 quid for 4!!!!! will bear that in mind bristolbaron..... any ideas of part numbers? cheers,
  8. if you go for an OHV KA your definately not going to get above 34mpg in them mate..... im speaking from experience ;) mk3 tdi is a good choice..... dont get a zx whatever you do!
  9. yeah your right, C-tech is the other name for the 1144's Alex
  10. justmatz? have you got a link to their website or a phone number dazzy? cheers,
  11. tehy run on oil absoloutely fine! it has to be used tho so your better off going down your local chippy on a sunday and asking them for the drum full! then all you do is sieve out hte gritty bits! they tested it out on 5th Gear on C5 not too long ago with Mr AA man and a Volvo 740 TD and it ran fine! supprised you havnt heard about it as it was all over the papers and everything during hte fuel issues last year, they were even thinking of puting duty on sunflower oil!! better of to get a 306 TD tho, bit more space and niceer interior than the old 205's but still cheap as chips to buy!
  12. hi all, i have been trawling everywhere for just one BBS centre cap for my Corrado G60 but cant find them anywhere! :( i have tried e-bay and the likes with no joy so was wondering whether anyone knows where i can get them from new.... or if anyone has seen any on a forum anywhere? it also doesnt help that i dont know what model of BBS alloys they are either i suppose
  13. well the KA is cheap to run and repair as well as good handling but its a ford at the end of the day........ look out for judder through the steering when test driving, if it does walk away! i had this develop on both my mk4 & mk7 Escorts i had and it seems common accross the Ford range as i have experienced it in a couple of Focus ST170's and some Fiesta's too. i replaced everything on my mk4 escort, disks and pads, calipers, lower arms, top mounts etc and still didnt get to the bottom of it! as for the Starlet..... well its Japanese so wont go wrong! nuf said! neither car is going to give you style points but i bet the starlet has aircon and electric windows which the KA probably wont? i'd go for the starlet personally ;)
  14. well as long as the VTI is off cam then it does about 32-34mpg the valve clearances are easy stuff, get a feeler guage and a haynes manual and do it yourself! will only take about 30 mins. only thing that needs replacing each time is the rocker cover gasket which is about 1.25 from halfrauds or a motor factors. otherwise if your scared of all things under the bonnet then its probably going to cost you about 25 quid in a little garage...... used to get mine done for a tenner tho until i started doing em myself. phone around some small places locally and see what they quote you.
  15. well the Ford KA can be quietened down easily, they have an old pushrod OHV engine in them so even the petrol ones sound like diesels most of the time cos the valve celarances have never been adjusted! have you thought of a Honda CRX Coupe? you can get a CRX VTI for about that price! 160bhp Vtec and reliable as hell too! bit more style that the 2 you mentioned ;)
  16. well the Mintex' have a good initial bite from cold which doesnt feel any different to when they are warm from what i have experienced, much better imo tho and they dont fade from high speeds either. break dust wise i would say that they produce a bit less dust. i dont have them on the 'G' but i have got them on my CTR and im often giving the breaks a good testing up on roads like the A4069 (Top Gear road where they filmed the FFRS) where speeds are not exactly kept to the limit! if you know this road you know how twisty it is and how much of a test it is on the not only the breaks but the whole car!
  17. Spykee

    lower spoiler??

damn! sounds the same as mine :( mine goes all the way from the bottom of the lip up to the actual bumper almost in a straight line on the left hand corner! anyone know where i can get a new one and what sort of bodily part i will have to sell to buy it?
  18. Kev, go for the Mintex 1144's you wont be disappoionted!
  19. hey dennis i like that! where did you get it from? im liking the carbon surround too! is that covering the standard surround?
  20. they are hanging up in the same place as you get bullet connectors and zip ties etc from...... they are in a box like the bullet connectors, for about 2.49 i think?
  21. they only do 18's and up though so looks like they are going to be too big for the arches :(
  22. Bally, they cant be that hard to find........ Halfrauds sell em! ;)
  23. LMAO!! you hit the nail on hte head with that one Kev!
  24. i went for the TOAD Ai606 it does full closuer as well so if you have lecetric windows and sunroof then the button will do the lot with one press!
