Of course. It'll only be a few pennys. But, I wanted to confirm if mine was indeed knackered, or if I'm not doing it right (maybe the handle is slightly in the wrong place etc) ETA: It made some horrible noises when I removed it.

Correct about the cable. And as I took the bolt out, I knew it was reverse threaded when I put it back in ;) I've not replaced the handle, just the latch that is very brittle and broke.

...and done! My only problem now, is it looks like the screw at the end of the door, that holds the handle in place, sheared when I was undoing it. No matter how much I turn the screw (anti-clockwise) it wont tighten. Does anyone have a photo or size, so I can compare mine? Or even a spare bolt?

Grr, I just read somewhere I didn't need to take the door card off. Was hoping for a easy job. I'll take it off. Screw locations? Save me some time! (Why does the repair kit only tell me how to change the piece of metal, not remove the door card)

I'm trying to get my door handle out the door to replace the crap part in it. But the cable will not budge. Its very tight, so I don't want to stretch it. I've seen a plastic tab on the bottom of the handle (underneath) and put a screwdriver in that, but still no luck. How do I get the cable out without damaging it. (I was also thinking of tying some string to it, so if it falls back in, I don't lose it forever.

Spotted a silver VR6 in Seascale (on holiday) on Sat (26th). Looked like it had after market wheels. Female at the wheel. Gave me a toot as she left the car park. (We don't often sit and eat sandwiches in the car, honest!)

Just driving along and all of a sudden the stereo cut off, I put this down to the dodgy ignition barrel. But then the wipers slowed right down, lights dimmed to pretty much off, heater stopped, and ABS light came on. Pulled over, cut power and tried again. Didn't start, gave it 5 mins, and it fired up fine, was then fine for the rest of the journey. The battery would have had a good charge, as it done a 3 hour journey on Saturday. But it has done some shorter runs, 20 mins or so over the past few days. I've read about a relay (18?) that causes some of these issues, will try to sort one soon. Any other ideas?

My handle came off recently and its cracked the plastic. I'd rather get a new one, save me gluing etc. Anyone got one?

Can you be a bit more specific? So there is a bit of plastic from the runner that holds the back square? It's just the back of the seat. It feels like one side of the back has been reclined more than the other. If I pull the 'lower' side sharply it stays level again.

Argh, any more help with the seat? Every time I get in now, I have to pull it back into the right position.

The wheel is in the middle of the height on mine. I'll try it with different heights, see if I find a happy one.

Any more help? I purchased the same as VWVW, only its too fricking dark to do it during the week, it'll have to wait until Sat.

I'll try and get some tomorrow in the light. Unsure on price, not seen any for sale recently, so don't know what they are worth.

Since buying the new Corrado, I've got more annoyed at a few rattles, wondered if there was a 'correct' way to fix them. 1) Ash tray rattles unless its half open. I assume its just plastic on plastic, so was going to put some felt or something on the lip. 2) Parcel-shelf rattles and squeaks. Again, felt when the shelf sits, to try and pad out the noise. Also, the drivers seat back seems to 'sink' on one side sometimes. So I'm leaning into the centre of the car. ---------- Post added at 05:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:01 PM ---------- I forgot to add: Steering wheel squeak when more than a full turn.

It did do this on the test drive, but thought nothing of it, but now its just annoying. I get a small rasp when I start her up and also when pulling away. It sounds like a piece of thin metal vibrating in the drivers foot well (so I imagine from the engine bay). I have noticed one of the heat shields seems to be attached by cable ties, but seems quite firm. I will be removing it this weekend, and driving the car without it to see if its sorted the problem. I've also got, what seems to be, a bit of a dodgy start up. Its hard to describe, but the car seems almost to choke then fire up. I suppose a video of this would be helpful!

I've got the receipt of the exhaust, so I'll see what was purchased. Its only 18 months old, but I really don't like the tail pipe.
