If I remove the motor from where its meant to go, it will still need a 'push' to get it working again. The lights do dim when the motor runs, but the motor isn't cutting out. The motor wont close the lid at all, until I push it, then once I've pushed it, it will close all the way without stopping or needing to be pushed again. This is the case with both motors I now have. Strip it out and replace it? You mean the whole motor or gears etc? TBH, I'm happy having to push the plastic cover to get it to work, but I know one day, it'll fail when it stats hammering down with rain. Then I need to take the cover off and get the allen key out to do it up!

No, it closes smoothly. It does have a step in speed, when it starts to close (from fully open) its slow, then goes a bit faster, finally slowing down for the final close. I assume this is by design though. I tried it again today. Opened no issues, but wouldn't shut, a slight tap on the casing and it shut no problems. I didnt need to keep pushing it. I suspect some dodgy wiring. Is there a wiring diagram? I assume the open and close wires are differnt.

The CF Update: New design, new classifieds & more to come!
sam2.0 replied to Andi's topic in Site Comments and Questions
Wow guys, looks great. Much better, and I'm liking the classifieds alot more! One thing I'll point out, when I login and type my username, the characters are black. The password shows the *'s in blue. Not sure if its been pointed out, yet, just a flying visit! ETA: You said classifieds are sorted, but none have any replys. -
Location: Oxfordshire Price: 300.00 GBP Date added to Classifieds: 31st Jan 2012 Description: Up for sale are my Melber (I've been told this is their name) wheels, which are currently on my 2.0. A fair amount of tread left all round, I'll add some more photos of the tyres. I'm interested in estorils, so would be happy to arrange a swap. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/6/img2249vc.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/573/img2250v.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/833/img2251sk.jpg/

Motor seems temperamental, it will open no problem, but fails to close sometimes. If I take the cover off from around the lights and push the motor it works again. I bough a second hand one recently and it does the same. I've read a bit about them, but it tends to be about them not working at all. Is this common, is there an easy fix?
-
i paid £100, they came with tyres, but all are illegal in tread.
-
I collected a set today, thanks though! Sorry should have updated earlier.
-
Whats the fitting like? I'm assuming the reason you're making them is to make it easy! Also, what do people keep going on about the OEM connectors? Is there something I need to ensure I've got? Still £55?
-
Thanks, have posted on said topic.
-
I'm interested, are you still making these?

My lights are appalling, and I've seen speak of upgrading the cabling for them. Rather than attempt to make it, for £32+P&P and I can get it off ebay. Is it any good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-CORRADO-UPRATED-HEADLIGHT-WIRING-LOOM-SAFE-/140693034760?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DDLSL%252BSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BUA%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D140679027425%252B140679027425%26po%3D%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6064617380530802727

Near Oxford. Can you get some close up pics? Thanks
-
Southie can you send me some photos? I'd be up for giving them a DIY refurb. Then spend the cash on tyres. Hampshire isnt too far either, so I'd be happy to collect. VWVW, thanks, but I should have said, I need 4x100 not 5 stud. Thanks.

I'm after a set of Estorils to replace whats currently on my car. Good nick with tyres preferably. Let me know what you've got.

I took a video, so you can hear what its like. Driving me nuts! http://e46zone.com/Uploads/IMG_2427.MOV

So you're suggesting I buy a better one. But what one? I was advised else where the ebay one was fine for reading engine codes!
-
A cheap eBay one

On the lower down baud rates I get a click from the headlight switch area, so it sounds like its doing something. Sill no joy though.
-
Just tried it. No go. Tried letting it do a few rounds then on, ignition on straight away. etc. Nothing worked. I can still read the ABS codes though, so it can't be the cable, can it ?
-
Will give it a go later on. I'd tried the baud rate change and no joy. Hope this works!
-
I've not touched it, may be someone else or lose still? But I have no idea what I need to do to tighten it...

Belt tension seems fine. I now get a constant 'rubbing' noise when going along, it also gets fast as the car is revved. This is idle and under load. The closest specialist is a fair distance, not somewhere I can pop to during the day. I also don't want to get there and them tell me I need to do a whole belt swap (££$$£). Is there anything I can do to try and stop it, even if it'll identify the part making the noise?
-
Thanks Elliott, changing the latency allowed the ABS module to work, got the codes and now cleared them. But, the 01-engine one still won't read! Is there something up with the ecu?
-
The car does seem to splutter about when started, doesn't die every day, but defiantly struggles to stay alive.

I'm near Oxford. Thanks.
