belfastfumanchu replied to madhatta's topic in Engine Bay
Thanks for answering that Henny This KE jetronic fueling system. What does KE jetronic mean ? Is KE jetronic the type of system that would be on a standard 1.8 16v Corrado? -

I have one on my 1991 1.8 16v Corrado, but it was the guy (Mikes16v) who owned it before me who put it in. Looks sweet too 8)

-

I had a Golf that done the same thing.....and one day the car stopped completley on the way to work. If i can remember rightly it was to do with the distributor.....the spark wasn't getting to the plugs The metal pin thing part in the cap was broke off - hence no spark

Your Insurance Cost For Your Corrado
belfastfumanchu replied to belfastfumanchu's topic in General Car Chat
Hey Mike16v that seems quite dear for a G60 compared to what these other guys are paying. I guess thats cos insurance is generally dearer in Northern Ireland than rest of the UK. That sucks. -
That is pretty terrible. But what you doing racing Civics anyway lol. They aint worth shit.

Those guys Adrian Flux seem like the guys to be with. Wonder do they insure drivers in Northern Ireland - a lot of them don't. I will check that out when i get my Corrado. -

All reasonable amounts yous are paying - i like it -
How much is everyone paying per year for their insurance? State your Corrado modle, what age you are (optional) & finally if its fully comp or 3rd Party etc I havnt got a Corrado yet so i can't take part!
-
I just read Supercharged's message on another post with an answer to your Q. "Halfords do the Porter manual for a fiver, or Haynes manuals for similar age cars will be fine for brakes and other components shared across the VW range - Passat, Golf etc... The best and only true manual for the corrado is the Bentley - not the best at explaining how to do things as its aimed at trained mechanics for reference but the diagrams are superb and it has wiring diags for the whole car!"
-
All depends on the individual car then i guess. That valve guide wear that you mention kev, is that expensive to replace & how would you know about it (like if say you went to look at one that someone was selling)
-
Dont get me changing my mind about a VR6 now or im gonna be up all night. I've finally decided to go for it over the G60.....at lease i think i have. oh shit

Thanks for the welcome guys ! Glad i've found an active Corrado forum. If you all reckon the engine (with care) can last a good 200k then that makes me feel a lot better about buying one now. :D
