  1. we already looked into it and nope cant get a private plate i feel for my brother he is a uni student so not rich and always dreams about having a G40 (and believe it or not nothing to do with me he fell in love with them as when he used to do a paper round as a kid he used to deliver to a local guy that had a mint G40 in grey parked up in his garage which my brother got talking to so he goes out buys this as we knew needs some work few dings on the door and good servicing only to find that it had complete cracked front chassis leg and just been covered with waxol by the last owner who was meant to be a enthusiast and now this its like a double kick in the nuts lol
  2. i dont know my brother doesnt like the sound of Q plate trust me the car is amazing its flipping quick aswell my brother took me for a blast friday evening easily alot quicker than my corrado now as a G60 and off course because weve put everything new on and its got bigger brakes and m/c upfront and H&R coilovers it stops and handle how it sahould have done out of factory trust me the guy was impressed with the quality off all the work and how nice and clean everything is def a nice show looking car but now its got a Q plate :( i dont know if were more pissed at being told inaccurate information or him telling us to ring are car isntead of telling DVLA

Well as some of you guys may know about 6 months ago we reshelled my brother G40 (as thanx to previous owner had been in a accident and never repaired it and sold it to my brother without telling us) and taking in advise form DVLA we did it all by the rule book etc From square one we were told that because the only thing that will be changes from orignal car is the shell the car would retain its identity. So we went out bought a mint!!!!! grey polo so its the same colour etc and started the swope We did everything brake lines etc and got it MOT'ed and tested and the car flew past everything (one guy said he never seen a car so well put together he was that impressed) anyhow all that remained was the paper work to sort out. This morning a DVLA guy turned up to do final inspection (i.e to check out the old shell that it was damaged etc) He was happy that we followed all the rules etc and we were honest with the paper work so at this point we were all happy and then he says "but becuase the shell wasnt brand new from VW the car has to be a Q plate" we were like WTF how is that possible?? we were told about all the point system etc and followed it to the dot and he agreed with us it should retain the orignal number plate but rules are rules and to top it off he turns rounds and says u should have cut the old number of the old shell and swoped it and just scraped the normal polo my and my brother face just droped!!!!! a DLVA guy advise us to do that to beat the system but when it comes to do it by the rule book then bend us over and shaft us oh well now my brother kind of had enough so thinking of selling it so do you guys recon being a Q plate is going to affect its value alot considering its mint right now and safe ???
  4. well charger finally on and omg it sounds lovely and drive perfectly not very loud at all but it is on standard pulley as well for interccoler its doing its job perfectly went for a long drive touched the outlet pipe and nice and cold but the thing im most happy about u look at the engine bay and looks standard but off course underneath it all got full silicone hoses etc now just a few wires to tied up put the oil preassure sender back in and good clean and its good to go in the forsale section oh not forgetting the pics :) ill post up how ive done it but im very proud everything sits perfectly
  5. oh and for you guys to get a idea of my pipe work its rallye outlet then 2.5" all the way upto the normal G60 inlet pipe that holds the copot sensor so should flow pritty well

Hello guys Ive been asked how much differnence there is with my intercooler setup on the G60 lump and to tell u the truth i dont know the honest answer 1 is because ive never had a G60 on standard G60 intercooler 2 im just about to start running in the charger but for those of you running FMI like mine and with direct airflow did you notice a huge difference perosnally i think there should be as my intercooler (forgemotorsport) is a excellent piece of kit always nice and cold and when i was running it on the 16vg60 the intake to the intercooler used to the be hot and outlet would be nice and cold so i know its effiecient so whats your guys opinion
  7. sorry mate which front bumper?? as first pics off course is standard then i went to dietric RS front bumper and then onto Rieger GTX hope that helps?

  9. amit ive got one word for u w.....r lol i know mate i was sitting here going through the pics and i remember the first meet all meeting up in the services and me introducing myself like james bond "hi all im alex, alex 2.1 16v lol " trust me go through all the receipts and bills and ull soon see where all the time has gone
  10. mate so far since deciding enough is enough ive been called every name in the sun for letting it go but as most of u know on here i just have to throw in the towel i cant always be throwing money at it and be happy as i always want more I rather let it go whilst its still good :) also wait for when i upload the pic of all the receipts ive spent on this car one of my mates thought i had stuffed it to make it look more than it was but once i showed him his face just dropped lol
  11. so some of you out there can see had mad i am well after 5 years of owner ship from a 1.8 16v to a 2.1 16v race spec engine to a high compression 2.1 16vg60 and now sadly to sell a G60 (would have been a 16vT if i could have been bothered) Three accident due to idiots in london who cant drive and hit me twice when it wwas parked up three resprays two of them bare metal one cloth two leather interior lost count of how many set of wheels and three exhaust systems loads of little body mods all in all about £20K worth of maintianance this is its life and ive loved nearly most of it lol yes im :silly:
  12. Well as the only thing left now is for the fresh new charger to be bolt on i guess its now time for me to let it go but before it does thought just one last time show it off to the world lol
  13. well not sure about helicoli a plug hole but if u want sitting in my house i have a 70K 1L engine and gear box from a polo fox that only had one woman owner before my brother got hold of it (used the shell to reshell his g40) ur more than welome to have as its going to get dumped soon
  14. mate weve all been there dont worry it prob only go on for a week and all forgotten the important thing is that it wasnt serious cars can be fixed :)
  15. i hope ur getting him to pay for it all ;) lol only kidding but it does swing both ways on my old mkI golf driver when i feel really sick at college (had to be taken to hospital) my mum had to collect it she drove it all the way home on full l choke and wandered why there was black smoke coming out of the back all the way home and didnt want to rev lol four spark pluags later, oil change (due ot oil smelling like fuel) and good carb clean it run again lol woman lol
  16. i dont know looking at that pic of the MRC one it kind of looks good with the RS2 front bumper i guess its down to personal choice

  19. oh boy dont know what to say about that interesting front bumper but i dont think it suits the car good paint job but not my choice of colour and its runnign the RS2 mirrors and is that the zender rear spoiler? Also they dont run the 20v engien in TT's etc its a 5 pot 4 valves per pot engine

  21. true any high performance car will be expensive to maintain just need to ask my mate with a C43 amg wheels only lasted 4000 miles on the back lol but insurance wise espeically on my corrado its cheaper to insure a S2 for example jsut comes in at £500 wheres im paying £870 for mine as its supercharged
