-
thats the first ive ever heard of that and thats alot of lift my cams are 10.5 lift and that gets on my nerves sometimes if it is ture ive never seen any so they really really must be rare
-
mine is just to get my car started Im prity much there and I cant think of anything else to do to it :( so basically its PERFECT lol :D :-P ;)
-
ive heard about this exhuast cam on the inlet side and i dont think its worth it I remember seaking to AMD a while back and they tried out this exhuast cam and driving the car it felt like it gave the car this huge increase but once on the rollers they found that the car was underpowered from 1000-3500 rpm and then when the cams kicked in it produced the same sort of power as standard inlets So i really havent looked into it much more, personally like i said before my mate is running a 1.8 16v head and cams on a 2L 16v bottom end and the car driver f-ing well and he uses all of the power band all the time :D ;) Also for bottom end bearing and oil pump my engine uses diesel turbo items as they are meant to be stronger :D And as for kits I knwo you can get head gasket kits :) with all valve stem seals etc but as for bottom end kit im not sure
-
thats what i like to see more 16v's :D nice car
-
mate i think it would be cheaper for u to find some one local as shipping the head to london would run up the costs also what exhuast cam u talking about?
-
cost all depends who u take it to and how much u give them Like for my mate we took the head completey apart and for £150 they put it back together and did all the seals and grinding for us :) Power wise its all down to the engine im happy that mine produe 185bhp on the k-jet and then 191bhp on the DTA but then mines had alot of work done :)
-
F ME!!!!! 21K on a enigne thats nuts sorry im just shocked Mines only cost me 5K so far wouldnt it have been cheaper to wait for the FSI 2L 20v engines to come out and work on them??
-
i suggest u get the valves reseated and the stem seals redone tappets should be fine once give a good wash and maybe a new timing chain if there is and slack And if you want to open up the porting a little bit that should be fine aswell at the end of it all you should be seeing about 160-170bhp :) maybe more
-
true u go tme there :) also my engine revs upto 8000rpm but ive set a limiter on 7500, but then my engine is fuly balanced so it can do that Now my mate with the 2L bottom end and 1.8 16v head pulls all the way to the limiter which i think is 7250??
-
sorry mate but its not that ive got no idea :( it might be the fuse box or relays but ull have t check all that Also have you ask VW customer service if your ECU def doesnt have a immobiliser??
-
if its eating oil doesnt mena the bottom end has gone usually meeans valve stem seals are shwoing their age others could be leaking head gasket and maybe piston rings As for the 9A engine to go into a 1.8 16v head its a striaght bolt on :) only have to cut one of the littl eguides at the back of the enigne and its not a important bit
-
i didnt think there was a difference between the 16v and the audi its was only a real mod for the 8v gti's i might be wrong
-
dont worry i was only kidding sadly the min u start to mod its becomes a bottomless pity of money u have to spend :( on the good side at least i get good use out of my baby (once its running again lol)
-
ha uve got a very very long way to go anyway with two full bare metal resprayes under thier belts??? lol     :D or is it just me

-

thanx Andy but i really wanted to get them out of the way before the car goes in for the MOT as i dont have road tax at the mo :(
-
yeah but the VW ones are built into the ECU system from what im told and cant be cut out as i know four people with this system in their cars and they all have CAT 1 alarms and if they use a normal cut key the car will not run just my 2p's worth
-
not to say u havent check this already but vr's have a immobiliser which sometime fails is u use a copied key or a new key from VW that hasnt been programed in Also a guy at work that has a golf highline had the model/wire go which he had to have replaced from VW just a few tips
