  1. Was it that obvious Roddy? and there's me just been rattling on about subtle Lol!
  2. I can totally understand the purist view and am full of admiration for nicely kept standard cars, but I subscribe to the OEM+ way of thinking. No irreversible mods carried out on mine (except polished inlet manifold - but that can be replaced) and all original parts retained to put the car back to stock if required. I do think good quality subtle modification really does improve the look and driving experience. If you choose not to improve (mod) I think you are missing out on driving a Corrado which exploits a performance capability of a higher level than standard IMHO. But different strokes........
  3. If you don't log in you won't see them.
  4. Good to hear from you Amit - I reckon you and Martin Hyland are having a competition to see who'll have the lowest mileage 20 year old Corrado. Lol!
  5. Don't think you can beat a classic set of BBS RS's. I know they've been done to death but they are timeless and never go out of vogue. When you watch a Corrado cruising along with these on it just looks amazing IMO. I do appreciate wheels you've mentioned and others and think they look fantastic but given the choice it would aways be some form of BBS RS cross spokes for me. Maybe one day I'll live the dream.
  6. Your so right Jim, when I bought a Golf VR6 in the mid nineties I loved the sound but after about a few weeks wasn't really impressed with the rest of the package - took me another few years to find the perfect package in the Corrado - well worth the wait!
  7. Quality response Roddy - I'm sitting here laughing my socks off.
  8. £20 Roddy - we're all doomed in the immortal words of Fraser.
  9. Shouldn't they look for a badge that says draught or if I'm kind breeze?.
  10. £60-ish Roddy - that's cheap -it's £75-ish where I live.
  11. Mr Sands - the worst bit as we've said is getting the spring clip back on as you're doing it blind and the thing is it's actually very easy as you'll realise when you've been trying for half an hour to clip it back the wrong way and suddenly it's back on correctly. Good luck - it can be done.
  12. I'd feel embarassed asking a dealer to change a bulb - I'd rather have the skint knuckles.
  13. So long since I changed the bulbs in the Corrado but as I remember no need to take the whole unit out (only if you need to replace the lens) and you do need a magnetised screwdriver to undo the screw in the hole as you don't want to drop it.
  14. Corrado bulbs are an absolute doddle in comparison. Got my wife to sell the MKIV before the bulbs went again.
  15. Did it without removing the batterry Steve but that's where the skint knuckles and swearing comes in.
  16. Did both on my wife's MKIV in situ. The bulbs easy enough to get out once you've removed the plastic cover. The fiddly bit is getting the spring clip back on once the new bulbs in but with a bit of patience and perseverance it can be done. Give it a go but be prepared to skin your knuckles and use a few swear words.
  17. Excellent - look forward to seeing it next year if you venture over the border for any events.
  18. Are they the electric heated variety?, and did you need a retrim. Only thing on my list is the exhaust but I keep thinking the original has to give up soon but it's not. It's sorn'd at the mo under a cover in a nice warm garage.
  19. Not a chance Roddy - it's still very much a love affair. Here's another pic to remind you why.
  20. Hi Alex, Welcome back, if your looking for a well maintained Corrado VR Andy Balm's is up for sale on pistonheads.
  21. Hi Eric, try an impact driver first or use a hack saw to open up one of the slots after spraying with plus gas or something like it. Drilling should be the last resort.
