Do the Yanks do everything different? - VRT??
southerner88 replied to southerner88's topic in Engine Bay
so for once, we got the bigger and better! presumably those Turbo kits would not work for the Euro VR6? -
Does the other side of the pond do everything differently? Im lost now! Been fleebaying turbo kits for VR6's to see whats out and about. All the refernces from the americans are all for 2.8 VR6 - is this what we call 2.9 VR6 or is it a different model all together? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GT35-23PC-T3-T4-TURBO-KIT-CAST-MANIFOLD-INTERCOOLER-92-05-GOLF-JETTA-PASSAT-VR6-/400605149143?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d45ed77d7

Hi all, Was thinking about upgrading the stereo in the corrado, is it possible to fit a double din unit (i think its called that) into the corrado? I was hoping to get one of those touch screen units with all the sat nav, mp3 connectivity etc etc but they are all double dins - well the one i want is anyway... Would you need to change much to get one of these in? thanks for any help you can give

are the seat belts different across different models and early / late vehicles?...

I was told that the MK2 Golfs had the same Idle adjust screw as the 1.8 16v C. Dont know if it is the same for the G60 though... If it is the same then I have an idle screw from my 1.8 16v...

Hi all, need a few bits to get the rado conversion done.... Im after a QPENG downpipe for a corrado with a 1.8 20VT conversion, Someone who can combine the engine looms and a slim line universal intercooler any chance people have any of these spare??
-
Cheers for help people, Basically the previous owner attempted to "boy racer" the car until I rescued it. They had stripped the original material from the pillars, roof and painted the centre unit between the seats. They had put what looked like red coloured tacky back plastic across all the pillars, red perforated tacky material stuff on the roof, a red gaitor and red painted (badly, very badly) centre unit between the seats. SO... As well as sorting his bodged attempts of engine tuning, Im sorting the interior. I have some leatherette stuff i think its called to cover the roof lining and the pillars, have got some for the centre units between the seats too to cover the paint and the scuffs. So I am trying to glue to the leatherette stuff to bare plastic and the roof,

im about to have an "Oettinger Corrado" but will be a 16 valver with the mk4 golf oettinger engine.... should be fairly nippy!
-
ok, that stuff sounds pretty good, is there a certain brand thats better or not really matter? the material Im using is fairly thick, not like the roof lining material... A friend has said about a liquid which you basically paint onto the plastic, then cover it with the material and leave to dry. Any one know of such a product or would I be better off using the spray carpet adhesive? dont want to ruin the car or material
-
Hi all, Any one got any ideas what is the best way to "glue" material to various plastic interior trims? I have the new material to bring her back to life but not sure on the best product for the job... any help would be great cheers

Am at work on nights so cant get a picture from the car but found that on google images.....does that make any sense? If you were stood at the front of the bay looking at it, the pipe comes from the collant bottle out from underneath to the right then runs down towards you, and the "Y" joint is at the end of the pipe....

Think i need one of these.....idle air adjust screw for a 1.8 16v
southerner88 replied to southerner88's topic in Engine Bay
would ya believe it.....decided to do an engine conversion, started stripping parts of the engine out, and there it is, sat at the back of the bay....the F*#&ing IDLE ADJUST SCREW!!!! sods law eh -
Hi all, Sorry if this is in the wrong section and I know this is the Corrado forum but my Golf needs some love as well as the rado today! Its a 2001 MK4 Golf GTi AUM, Any chance any has some spare coolant hose bits knocking about? im after a joint as mine has split. From the coolant bottle, a pipe comes out and joins into a Y shape joint on the top left with another pipe that runs round the back of the engine joining on the top right. then the base of the Y runs round the front of the engine. I can put a pic of what I mean up if that would help and would be really grateful if anyone has one of these parts around!
-
hi buddy, found the ones off my valver....what models yours?
-
Not sure if differences between models, but I might have some off my 1.8 16v kiccking about, will have a dig around buddy

Shaunje, I am a novice at the corrado and engine scene however.... Ive currently got a 1.8 16v KR Corrado, engines coming out for a conversion, but I had what seems to be a very similar issue to what you have. My issue was the idle adjust screw, it had fallen off, fortunatley is was in the bay still. Its a thin long screw that goes in a hole on the throttle body. When mine was missing i had very lumpy tick over and fine on the revs. When I put my finger over the hole it went back to idle perfect. I posted a picture of the hole on a previous thread I created to find out what it was... Think i need one of these.....idle air adjust screw for a 1.8 16v search "idel adjust screw" in the forum and in that thread above look at the picture, http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=82201&highlight=idle+adjust+screw Give me a shout if it is the screw! best of luck buddy....

Hi all, Am in need of a few bits to try and get my 1.8 16v Corrado on the road! I would preferably like to get an engine conversion done but due to money constraints n such its looking more like i need repair what i got! In the engine, I am missing the idle adjust screw thing, if anyone has one pleeeeeaaaaasssssssseeee let me know! cannot find one of these anywhere!!! I also have a few things wrong which i may be able to fix with parts.... My drivers side CV Boots, inner and outer, have split and have covered everything in their grease so need those... There is a power steering leak somewhere so need to sort that out... I have a coolant leak somewhere so again need to sort that out... And i have an oil leak from somewhere... Rear brake lines also need replacing as well as the rear brake housing... Due to the above, I wanted to do an engine conversion! If anyone has anything that would help with any of the above then please let me know, even a spare engine for the conversion would be considered! Cheers for looking and for any help you can give!

This picture is the one with the missing bit that i think is the air adjust screw thingy, and this is a picture of something im not so sure about... is the tube on the left in the circle the correct tube? also does any one have or have a name for the fitting to get the fans to attach to the front? -
Hi all, Done some digging around and think this is the bit that i need, could be wrong so heres what happens...... Car turns on fine, revs go up then when the revs come down to idle, she stutters. When you put your finger over a hole with a threaded inside, she sorts herself out and idles fine. Take you finger off she stutters and dies.... The hole is just below the throttle arm (i think thats what its called) the bit that has a cable from it and when pulled round the revs go up... Any help would be great to identify what im after.... can get a picture of it if that would help... Cheers for any help
