hahahaha some of the stories on here are brilliant! Fortunately, I dont have this problem as she doesnt have a license! the 3 motors are for me and me only to make mistakes with! Hi everyone, Having a few probs with my 93 VR recently, she stopped running. Have investigated and the problem seems to lie within the electrical system / fusebox...any chance anyone has a wiring diagram? I dont have a clue about the wiring looms or fusebox but my mate loves working it all out, so if I could get a diagram he could possibly make sense of it and get my VR running again! thanks

has anyone fitted daves16v short shifter? and would be able to compare between the standard shifter with daves fix, and swapping it out for the mk4's?

is there a simple way to tell if its the O2J?

yeah had a little look around, and various threads have mentions of bits from a mk4. think I read about the coolant resevoir and windscreen washer resevior can be swapped over, and some of the coolant pipes can be used, also the handbrake cover?? was wandering if there is anything worth holding on to when breaking the car that could be used on the corrado...

I am having a very similar battle with my VR6, she kept stalling when slowing down for junctions etc, then one day would turn on at all! when I turn the ignition on, there is no sound of the fuel pump priming. I have a fuel pump on the way and have just replaced all plugs, ignition leads and fuel filter. She still wont fire up so waiting for the fuel pump! Ive been told that certain fuel system cleaners (REDEX) actually clog up Corrado's Fuel Filters - not good - so possibly that could be an issue for you? The first thing we tried was swapping over the relays on the fusebox with known working ones, this didnt make a difference haha so then went to the next cheapest option and so on. Always worth a shot looking at the simplist things too though, find which ones they are and if possible swap them over for known working ones, or give them a good sniff and see if they smell burnt at all... best of luck with your investigations

Hi all, I am soon to have a 2001 MK4 Golf GTi for breaking, and before I sell parts out, i want first dibs as it will basically be free which always makes you feel better! So the question is....What parts on the Corrado are worth upgrading to MK4 Golf parts? I have a VR6 if that makes a difference? Im thinking engine components / running gear, not bothered about doing the mk4 dash conversion or anything like that, easy interior conversions may be considered... Im told the rear brake calipers from the mk4 are a good upgrade so thats now the first thing on the list, any chance we could get a list going? 1. MK4 Brake Calipers

I was a few parts purchase from swapping a VR6 to a 20vT, but I couldnt bring myself to loose the VR soundtrack, and with similar moneys spent on each, can get some similar results im told, probably similar with a G60 although Ive heard they have issues with the superchargers...sure others can help you more with that one though! If you do want to go to the dark side, I have an Oettinger engine for sale as we speak, also have a 1.8 16v KR full engine loom and ECU and other bits n pieces, so could do the conversion and keep all your G60 bits to revert back too if required! its on eBay, its the only oettinger engine on there lol best of luck with whatever you decide!

A lad at work has a new Scirocco, its a nice car, a little too much like a Sporty Golf IMO, got all the toys etc, but I dont think it will ever be a rival to the MK1, original is always best, hence my hope VW decide not to create a MK2 Corrado...

Hi fella, have had a dig around and found a black and a grey centre set, both are in pretty good shape, couple of cracked or snapped screw hole thingys, but im pretty sure that they will still hold in place. Struggling to find the gator surround for the black set at the minute, must be around here somewhere!! The fog lights have been tinted or something similar in black and one of them is cracked. The aerial is as it is on the picture, if your wanting it make it quick as the dog also showed interest in it haha. Ive got a full black centre console, cant remember any damage, can get some pictures for you tomorrow, (am on night shifts) I have an aftermarket radio aeriall, aluminium and black, and some fog lights, the fogs were tinted black from the previous owner and I think are cracked, again Ill double check all this and get some pics to you tomorrow if thats ok cheers
