I'd personally go water based. Its expensive but I find it nice to paint with. Does need a warmer environment to dry off in though, so if you can seal yourself in and get a heater or 2 on it really helps. Also you can go straight over the water based (once dry) with a lacquer. No keying up invetween required Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

You won't be able to buy cellulose anymore, but I suggest if your car is a non metallic, check out glasurit 68line it's a Base and top coat in one, but acrylic based sp less harmful than old school solvent stuff Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

I'm currently doing a full respray my self, it's alot of work but worth the saving. I've just recently purchased a devilbiss startingline gun, they are 60 ish quid. Devilbiss make some of the best guns on the market, this is just there cheapest range. Mines a sg-610 model. Sprays OK. You are going to be fighting massively with ambient temps and cleanliness to get a perfect finish , so as long as you expect orange peel and maybe the odd run and a bit of grit in the paint, you will be fine. Just takes alot of flatting Afterwards. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

I love the steering wheel! Just not sure it suits the corrado..? It's a bit to retro for a modern classic in my opinion, but it's not like it's a hard thing to change so worth running it for a while and seeing if you get used to it. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

My local one is useless, the staff are rude, never want to help you out, and even though im in the trade and run a business which could do with them as the deliver, I just won't use them as it always feels like a battle with them to get a good price. I even do half the work for them as I run etka, I price all my own parts and literally just such them a part number to give me a quote on. So I just use the dealer still as luckily I have good friends there and I generally get parts at cost plus a small percentage so it's a good trade price. Not sure if tps woukd entertain a club account, we have one though anither club I run and some people still had trouble getting served in my local branch Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

Doubt it as there was a thread very recently discussing all this. I just purchased a set of TT wipers from the dealer Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

As title, I'm looking for a set of modern lines, non dished single piece style ideally in silver, although I can repair and paint no problem so not to fussed on colour/condition. After 4x100 16", 8/9j would be great, not fussed if staggered or not. Anyone know of anything for sale? Thanks Spencer Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

I recently bought one for my old man's vr, there is a little bit of discount in it from vw so you may be able to get that 39 down a bit. Think I paid around 36. Either way I didn't think it wad bad. Was just glad they still made them! Haha Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

Hi there! Like the sound of the pd130 conversion. Me and a mate are probably going to put his engine out of his a3 into a corrado she'll I've got spare. Not many people do a tdi swap with them but I think it could be good fun especially with a big turbo set up. What shell have you got in mind for the tdi swap? Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

I've just purchase some mk1 TT Wiper arms and blades for mine at a discount price. Cost me just under £110 all in for 2 driver arms and 2 blades. Will see how they fit and add some pics. There is apparently a small mod needed to clear the scuttle, but they are supposedly alot better than the lupo conversion. I will post up the link to the guide I found with part numbers. Also when the engine reaches the temp of the thermostat, that opens and allows can't to pass through the bottom of the rad up and out of the top hose back into the engine. The top hose will get slightly warm as the engine warms up but this is just heat bleeding.. When the thermostat opens and 87 degrees the bottom hose will go from Cold to very hot very quickly. This is showing the thermostat is working. If it does not do that before the car reaches 100 on the gauge I'd say there is a thermostat problem atleast. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

Cambelt does not need to be removed to get get the water pump off on these engines. They are still old fashioned and driven by the auxiliary belt. Easy enough job. The waterpump is in a large housing which also contains the thermostat, so change both when it's apart. You will need to remove the power steering pump, but leave the pipes attached and just move it, you will also need to remove the alternator and bracket for that to remove the pump housing. The headache can come when removing the alternator bolts as they are long and can foul the chassis leg. To solve this, slacken the engine mounting nuts/bolts and raise it untill the bolts will clear. Airbox obviously needs to be removed also. Its an afternoons work providing all the bolts cooperate lol Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

Yeah they used to be 40 quid ish for 2 arms with blades!! Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

Yeah I was surprised when I priced them up. I was about to buy a unused new set from a mate for 150 all in withbthr blades, then found out that it was nowhere near that at the dealer, Plus I get them for cost as I used to work there so was a bargain really! Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
