These photos were taken at Sunday's mini meet in Peterborough so by now I expect the ride hight to have settled, my car is M97. I hadn't driven a Rado with standard suspension for years but after driving Sean_Jaymo's VR with a standard set-up at the meet I can confirm that the B12 kit is noticeably firmer but I did expect it to be. I'm happy with the ride quality but people's opinion on suspension will vary a lot. My advice would be to try before you buy if you can, I didn't but my VR isn't a daily driver so it wasn't quite so important. You're more than welcome to take mine out for a test drive if you're anywhere near Notts/Derby.

Enjoyed the mini meet although a bit cold, nice to meet some new folk. I wouldn't normally have driven a 3 hour round trip just for a 2.5 hour meet but I haven't done many meets this year. Thanks to Sean for the drive, can't wait to get that new shifter in now, amongst other ideas planted in my head. Love the Rota's Mic.

Would you be prepared to send the parts list, prices, supplier details etc so that we can make up our own?
-
All being well I'll be there.
-
I'll have one too if we can get to 10.
-
I'll try to get to this.

Never heard of Charles Trent so Googled it and it's a bit far out. My nearest scrappy is 1 mile away in Stapleford so went there and yes you are right it rendered the gearbox useless.
-
I wish! Had to pay £30 this morning from my local scrappy but never mind I've got one now. I don't think I need the bearing as it should already be in the box. I have a spare 02A tower and the bottom end is the same as the 02J so should just be a straight swap.

I've got some local to me, I'll drop in Sat morning.

Welcome and I see you're only just a few miles away, I'm in Sandiacre.

I've started getting the parts together for this conversion. So here is the new shifter assembly along side the Corrado shifter. The height of the actual stick is way longer than the Corrado so I've cut this down to match and will re-thread the end, it's still the original length in the photo's. When the shifter box is fitted to the Corrado tunnel, the stick will sit about 10 to 15mm higher if my calcs are correct, you can see the height comparison of the spring tops in this photo. This photo shows the comparison of the section of the shifter that will sit inside the car, the Polo box has a little more bulk to it but it should drop into the space without any interference with the plastic surround and gaiter. The only other thing I can see different is the centreline of the actual stick sits about 5mm further back than the Corrado but not enough to bother it, you can see it in one of the photos. I just need to get hold of an 02J selector tower now, then I can get it installed.

As titled but would also consider the whole box if cheap enough. Prefer it to be in the Midlands for collection if the whole box. Thanks.

Yes I can do a pair. PM me if interested. Dave

PM Purple Tom, he broke a Flash Red VR recently and I think he might have what you need, located in Ilkeston, Derbys.
-
Maybe they were suitably impressed when they did the spot on servicing and it's effects on performance?
-
Yep they are still available. Drop me a PM if you would like one. Thanks
-
I've told Storm Guy he can have them.
-
Too late, it's just sold.
-
Sorry mate, gonna hold out a bit longer for the £20. Dave
