I've never met Kev but that's just what I imagine he looks like at the weekend.

How about Ken Barlow? He's been around almost as long.

Well I've gone and done it and ordered the B12 kit tonight. I saw Ian's (GlosterOx) car at the National Day and was happy with his ride height plus along with other reviews I decided to go for it. It's the only thing I hadn't touched on the car, looking forward to a complete VR now. Thanks for those that have given reviews and pics. If anyone is interested I paid £632 delivered from http://www.europerformance.co.uk/ as it was the cheapest I could find. Dave

Cheers pal, I shall start working on it.

Chris, I've had a shifter sent to me in orange wrapping sent via My Hermes, is this the one for Mic? Dave

So I placed 2 adverts yesterday one immediately after the other and the same is happening - the first one doesn't show up in the 'parts for sale' section but the second one does.

Ok will drop you a PM.

Chris, are you at the National Day, can pick up from there if it helps? Michael, do you need the cables as well or just the shifter mech? Just thinking of added postage cost.
-
I would normally have snapped this up but as I'm waiting for so many return shifters it doesn't make any sense. Would be ideal for someone to buy it and send to me for short shift modding though.
-
I've got these, £5 each + £3 postage so £13 all in. Dave

Thanks for posting the pics, what is the part number for the kit you bought?
-
somersetdub has these on his VR and seems to really rate them, see here - http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=50041&page=8 No pics of the ride height though, if you read this somersetdub any chance you could post some pics of the ride height please, plenty of folks would like to see I'm sure. Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE

Yes they are. -
Think I'll jump on this bandwagon, the only thing I haven't touched on my car is the suspension. Torn between struts or coilovers as on a previous car I bought struts and the height was just wrong which of course I couldn't do anything about. I'd go for struts again if I can guarantee the ride height being ok and the B12 kits get good reviews. Who was it who fitted this kit recently?

I sold a set about 18 months back for £550 including door cards but there were some minor issues with them. I have to agree with Kev, they're nice to look at but not as supportive as other seats available.

Great day again this year and perfect weather for burning your neck. Didn't take many shots, here's a few. Me and PurpleTom fuelling up in the morning. KIP riding high at the back. Club Stand. Busy Day!

Yep I made one pretty much the same as that one. I've got 263 cams, cone filter outside of the bay and a 2.5" exhaust.

Got around to fitting this set-up, been out for a test run and if I'm honest it didn't inspire me with confidence. Firstly it sound different which I suppose there was a chance of, there was also a strange ticking noise going on which didn't sound too healthy. It also didn't drive as well as before with the OBD2 manifold, seem to have lost some low down grunt and there wasn't any noticeable difference at the top end either. As far as I know I'd fitted everything correctly, blanked off any unused vac ports in the OBD1 manifold and made sure the adapter plate was fitted correctly with gaskets. I can't help thinking there was a reason VW changed the manifold when going to OBD2. Maybe there was something not quite right with my set-up and others who have attempted this have had more success. I'm quite happy to continue to use the OBD2 manifold as I don't think there is a big enough improvement if any using the OBD1 manifold and there are some issues that need addressing before I feel really confident with the new set-up. Anyway I'll talk about those below the photos. Overview of the set-up. There are 2 orientations of fitting the throttle body due to the differences in the throttle body mounting holes in both manifolds. You can see the this in the photos with the throttle body mounted both ways. In both cases the cable doesn't align with the guide on the side of the throttle body and rubs quite a lot when the pedal is pushed. There are disadvantages in both orientations in that one way it's very close to the bonnet - see here. And the other way the throttle body is very close to the exhaust manifold heat shield and in my opinion too close, about 5mm away - can't see it too well in this photo. I had to cut and weld the throttle cable bracket and tilt it down to maintain correct cable alignment with the throttle body cable guide - see here. I ran the car with the throttle body orientated with the water pipes pointing upwards. I think the ideal set-up is to cut and weld the OBD2 throttle mounting to the OBD1 manifold, that way the orientation of the throttle body is not upset and no need for an adapter. For me I'll be sticking with the standard OBD2 manifold.
