I used some lengths of Dynamat soundproofing sheet. It's quite handy as the entire backing is adhesive, so it's easy to mould around the contours of the inner door. It's waterproof too.

Got lucky today! Badly needed to wash the daily driver due to it being encrusted with bird carp. I was sorely tempted to use the hose as the car was parked in the driveway, which is pretty secluded......but figured I'd be law abiding and use a bucket. Within 5 mins of me starting to wash the car I noticed a council van parked up, with the worker staring at me disapprovingly!

It's actually the two small metal spacers that bolt beneath those brackets that I really need. But I will take you up on the offer of those brackets from Dave16v, as mine are a bit rusty looking! (Sorry floppyman! :oops: )

Excellent! I will give it another day or two to see if anyopne has a pair in good condition. But if not, I may take you up on that offer!

I am struggling to find the two small radiator 'spacers' to finish of the re-assembly of the front end of my rado. They are the small metal piece shown on the left of the attached photo (stolen from VR6Pete's old thread ;) ) that bolt the two top brackets on the radiator to the slam panel. Nowhere seems to stock them, so I was wondering if anyone had a pair available from a car being broken for parts?

Off topic again! Cheers dude! The car was pretty much mothballed in the carage for about 2-3 years due to other priorities. I have almost got it ready to go back on the road now though.....so will update my old thread some time soon!

I actually found a decent head unit that was in stock in one of their stores (but it was 200 miles form me!). How did you manage to get it sent to your local store?

Yeah, it's a pity alright. Ignition position actually made sense though......it was to prevent you getting a large bunch of keys embedded in your knee in the case of a head-on accident.

I've driven a 9-3 Aero for almost the last two years, and it has been a great car! At 210 Bhp it's pretty quick, and acceleration from 30 mph plus is impressive. Handling is better than my old B5.5 Passat (once I removed the budget tyres that were fitted to it when I bought it). It has not had a single thing go wrong with it since I have owned it, has a 20K, 2-year service interval...and in terms of power, comfort and gadgets per £, I think they are a great buy. Downside is insurance costs and mpg isn't great......

Seen that at quite a few shows over in Ireland. It is (well....was when I saw it anyway) pretty rough up close, especially inside. Always liked the overall shape of it.....just a bit too many scoops and spoilers though!

Yup that's the one! Could you give me a price for the hose shown in your pic, up to the plug where it connects to the brake servo.

Do you have the hard plastic brake servo hose. Running from the servo up to the one-way valve?

I got a flat boot carpet out of a 'late' 1.8L 16v. It had the smaller fuel tank, but came with a space-saver.

Why not just drill the bolts out? Seen as you are breaking the car, you don't have to worry about extracting the remains of the bolts.

Bring back ground-effect cars...only solution....cheap/easy/efficient....should never have been banned! would even up the whole field and produces very little turbulent wake, that prevents cars toeing in behind one another.

Had the same problem on one of my old valvers. Couldn't get enough space to use Irwins either. I used a dremel + 1.5mm drill bit and put a small pilot hole in the side of each of the seized nuts. I then got the standard drill and an 8mm bit. There is just enough room to get the drill up behind the head and using one hand and the pilot hole you put in the nuts as a guide, you can annihilate the two dreaded bolts that way.
