  1. The difference is in the glass lens. It is a slightly different profile to sit flush with the late spec slam panel + bonnet. Early / late are interchangeable, but wont look right!

They are a bit 'bling' in their standard form (and quite pricey), but could look quite well sprayed stain black imho. I remember they were the topic for a seemingly never ending group buy on here a few years back too.

  4. I couldn't tell you exactly where to find one (but they do show up on ebay quite a bit). But they are usually called a "Rohr" or "power Rohr", if it helps your search :wink:
  5. Yup! I went around my old mondeo with an inverted air duster, and surprisingly it did actually take a few of the dents out. Didn't cause any damage to the paintwork either (not that I would really have been bothered about damaging the mondeos paintwork)

I've had a late spec console temporarily fitted into my early spec dash, and had late spec switches physically fitted into the switch holes on my early spec dash with no problems. so afaik they are identical in that respects (unless I had some weird late/early combo switches fitted, which I don't think I did) :tongue:
  11. First of all I'd check to see if you are getting 12v to the starter/solenoid. Pull the plug with the thin wire that is plugged into the solenoid and use a multimeter or test bulb between that plug and an earthing point, to see if you are getting 12v there when the key is turned. If you aren't my bet would be the ignition housing is the problem. The barrel isn't that easy to remove. I'll try to dig out a photo of what you need to do, and pm you the details.
  12. Had the same thing happen to mine. You'd usually get a 'click' noise from the starter motor if the solenoid was sticking. (solenoid is ontop of the starter motor, where the wires plug into it) I reckon it could be the lock housing itself. On mine the connecting piece between the ignition barrel and the ignition switch was worn and not turning the ignition switch fully when the key was turned in the barrel. This part is only made of plastic, so it's easy to see how it can wear out. That 'L' shaped end on the ignition barrel should fit tightly into the matching piece inside the housing itself. On mine the white plastic piece down in the housing was worn and was causing the starter motor not to engage.
  13. It will automatically (with my account anyway) try to take the money from my debit card. I have to go in and select the funding source as my actual bank account. This changes the transfer to an E-cheque which should be free.
  14. Yup, 'gift' is as free transfer too (as long as the amount transferred is taken from a bank account balance and not a nominated debit/credit card). It does take a few days to transfer though!

  19. But if he has early style top-mounts (as he has photos of) that bearing fitment you have in you photo does not apply.
  20. They are standard 'early' (or Mk2) topmounts. The bearing is fitted into the mount itself, so you don't need to worry about that. That mount will sit directly ontop of the coilover top plate. You don't need the original top plate that sat ontop of the original springs!

    Side repeater trauma!

    I had the same issue a few years back. But once you sort the problem once it gets pretty easy to solve if it ever happens again! a) Fishing with a bent coat hanger through the indicator hole for a while. b) undoing a few of the retaining screws on the plastic arch liner will give you enough leeway to pull the liner slightly out of the arch enough to get your hand in and retrieve the plug.
  23. Well McLaren are a bit daft to be deliberately misleading the marshals tbh! They had to know they would probably be caught out when the pit -> car radio recordings were analysed, so why did they bother reporting Toyota in the first place?!?! :eek:
