  1. That's the hall sender. Your ignition timing will go out the window if it's damaged!
  2. I'd go for one (of the few remaining) of these!

    Oh dear.....

It's actually been on tv for a few months now......watched it once for the novelty of Val Kilmer doing the voice for Kitt......I can safely say that it is the worst thing on tv by a long shot though (and that's saying something)......never seen such absolute garbage before! :bonk:
  4. It's not a critical component. But will support the weight of the engine if you remove the 4 bumper bolts at any stage. Can also affect the PAS pipe that passes through it. Best to get it replaced and give the replacement a coating of a decent heavy duty metal paint to help prevent it rusting teh same way.

    samcos on a valver?

Golf Mk2 16v kit will fit. (all hoses except the heater matrix hoses. But one of those golf heater matrix hoses fits nicely on the bottom of the rado expansion tank  )
  6. Had the same problem with the least accessible of those manifold bolts when I was doing a head gasket change on one of the old valvers. Nut wouldn't budge no matter what I did! I ended up contorting my arm around the subframe + downpipe with a dremel my hand. I used a tiny drill bit in the dremel to put a small pilot hole in the side of the seized nut. Then used a standard drill + 8mm bit to annihilate the rest of the nut using the pilot hole as a guide. Putting the small pilot hole in the nut means you can use the full sized drill single handed to destroy the rest of the nut (not enough space back there to fit two arms + a drill :brickwall: )
  7. I think an auto box in a car like that would drive me insane! (pity 99% of 8-series are autos)
  8. I love those CSi's 8) 8) From what I've heard you'll need most of the contents of a Swiss bank to actually keep it on the road though.
  9. The front and rear brake disks aren't interchangeable, as the rears have the bearing + hub assembly built into them. This is the sort of kit that you are after to get the 280mm on the rear! http://www.bahnbrenner.com/vw_audi/products/2032/MK2_MK3_11_Rear_Brake_Upgrade_Kit
  10. I'd put it down to Badoer having a proven track record of being rubbish! hmmm....let me see....Badoer or Schumacher....who would I chose! :cuckoo:  (He must do something right as a test driver though)
  11. Schumacher & Alonso in Ferrari together!! Would be very entertaining, to say the least!  8) 8) 8)
  12. Well, Ferrari aren't that competitive this season, and aren't going to win either championship....or be expected to win a load of races between now and the season end.....so he/they have nothing to lose really! Personally I cant wait for the next race now!!....haven't been this keen to see a race in about 8 years! 8) 8) P.s. shouldn't the title of this thread be: " The Stig return "
  13. Yup...the last few TG episodes have been awful (especially that nonsense with Clarkson driving the evo around while getting chased by the army :bad-words: )....but last nights episode was pretty good!
  14. emmm....would this not explain it? (the sopranos logo, the Corrado name and the Italian flag?) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junior_Soprano

    Squeeky Rear

I have the exact same thing on the drivers side rear of my passat.....and I know the axle bushings on that are on their last legs....so I suspected them being the cause too! :|
  16. I thought the o-ring attachment piece from your old injectors was removable? So it could just be fitted onto the tip of the new ones?
  17. Why kill a decent car just to take an old ABS system off it?!?!?
  18. Nice wing mirrors on the Mclaren too!
  19. The major one I noticed it the weight of leather vs fabric seats! Leather weighs an absolute ton in comparison! (sorry, don't have any actual weights for either though)
  20. I don't believe that for a second!
  21. There are quite a few unused plugs around the fusebox that would have been put in at the factory for various optional extras etc. Chances are that they are supposed to be left loose (especially seen as they make no difference when connected)
  22. emmm doesn't a rado use a 02a box. (not that it really affects the flywheel bolt torques). And doesn't the Vr6 have an 8 bolt flywheel?
  23. Well I got my figure from the 16v KR Passat Haynes manual (same as davidwort's pic)....guess 60Nm + 1/4 turn must be pretty close to 100Nm!?!
  24.  Dude!! The flywheel bolts are 100Nm WITH threadlock /locking fluid applied to all six of them!!
  25. 5 mins on Google looking for a discount code, always gets you at least a 10% discount from Blackcircles too!
