Welcome. Interesting bunch of pics in the parent directory! What's the story with all the MG ZT-T pics if I might enquire?

That 944 Turbo is a bit nice! I think its wheels may look OK on the Corrado.

£2900....0 bids.....imagine my surprise!

"Also available in white"....."Clean me".....etc. *yawn*
-
Yeah, mine emits a kind of ticking/rattling noise too. I even disconnected the speedo to eliminate that. Solution? Install a louder stereo.

I got stuffed by a white F-reg Nova along the A47 a while back in the Corrado. It was quite amusing really - damn that thing shifted despite looking like a rotten piece of crap. I was 110% positive I was gonna whip it too....*sigh*

Alternators generate AC that is rectified to DC and then regulated. Since it is regulated a change in engine speed should have no effect on the rectified output of the alternator. Loading the electrical system by turning on lights, heated screen, etc. will obviously cause a voltage drop across the system but it should still be a stable reading. The brushes/regulator theories make the most sense to me.

It'll end up like London where loads of people just stick a random plate on their car to avoid prosecution from "avoiding" the congestion charge.

To be honest I've always liked the Integra Type-R and would love to be in a position where I could have a Corrado VR6 and an Integra as a second car.......plus an '04 Yamaha R1 for the days you actually want to make some real progress on the roads. The fact is I'm too tight to get my wallet out and part with the money for any of them.....it's the student in me. The Seat Leon Cupra-R is a fantastic car - and probably the closest VAG car to a Civic Type-R at the moment. Although probably not as track-biased as the Civic it's still a far superior car on the road due to the power delivery and massively spec'ed in comparison. I think comparing a Civic to an S3 is a little unfair.

Anyone else got pictures of 20+ daughters they want to post? I mean 20 years old but if you want to post 20+ pictures feel free..... God I love this forum.

Does that Honda reliability include smokey VTEC engines? I can't say I've seen any smokey examples personally but that may well be more down to a handfull of mechanically backward owners and their lack of regard for proper servicing - an important point on engines with a rev-range like the Type-R I think you'll agree. I know for a fact that the owner of the '03-reg Type-R I mentioned is struggling to keep up payments for the car itself. It's had bald front tyres for the last two months so I very much doubt that the car will see a proper service for a long long time. He also has no idea which end of a screwdriver to hold. Muppet.

New front end on yours....Dinkus got a new back end..... The snow's coming so I'm sure there will be a middle bit to join you both shortly.

My mate recently purchased a '96 Golf VR6 in good nick with 106k on the clock for £3000 complete with dodgy coil-pack. Another mate gave him a lift to pick it up in his '03 Civic Type-R, and, being the competitive Type-R owner he is, he felt the need to flex his muscles and show how slow the Golf was in comparisson....but what's this? The Golf is every bit as quick as the financed-up-to-the-hilt Civic? Shame.... I'm taking nothing away from the Civic though. Despite not being to my styling taste the engine is quite special. They're a nice enough car but personally I fail to see what all the fuss is about.

Early ones are 210bhp...later ones are 225bhp. I believe they all use the same engine and turbo with a different ECU map. Responds well to Revo.
-
...and then the wiring would catch fire like my mate's smouldering Saxo VTR.

My mate took me out in an XJR - the bigger, heavier saloon version - when he worked at a valeting company. I was stunned at the acceleration of the thing considering its size and weight. I think they quote around 5.7 seconds for the XJR 0 - 60. Damn impressive performance but the finish for a new car was terrible. This was about three years ago I'd say.

I've heard that a lot but it's not something I know a great deal about. I assume there are opportunities in that area? What the heck does a quantity surveyor do anyway???

Interesting thread. Not long back I was looking for a way into the automotive industry myself, in the field of electronic systems design. I've got a first class bachelors degree in Computer Systems Engineering, an ONC and HNC in Elecrical and Electronic Engineering, various City and Guilds qualifications in electronics, a level 3 NVQ in Engineering Maintenance and I served a four-year mechanical and electrical engineering apprenticeship with the largest water company in the south east, plus I live on the doorstep of companies such as Lotus. How has that helped me in my quest for a job in the automotive industry? Not one little bit (despite lots of attempts) - it's all quite disillusioning really. If I had my time again I'd train as a builder....I don't know many poor ones.

Not that I'm one to enjoy other's misfortune......but......any pics?

Some KRs pink when running on 95 RON fuel and some don't - fortunately mine seems to be fine. If it's really bothering you then you may want to look in the direction of the K-STAR or similar. As for resetting the ECU I don't believe that's an issue of the 1.8 16v.

"Photobucket bandwidth exceeded"......grrrrr, what car?
-
Does it simply drop from full to empty after 30 miles or is there still some kind of scaling there?
-

G14 DER = £1299 (ouch) -
I'd still take Haliwell over any of the cars...... ......then I'd get her to buy me one of each.
