  2. Did mine a couple of decembers ago - cold and dark!! brrrrr!
  3. Speakers get more damaged by a distorted signal than too much clean power. That amp should be fine, you'll have a gain dial you can adjust anyhow and you should get a better signal than that from the headunit. Think of it as quality over quantity, if your amp delivers more power than you need without distorting you'll get better sound - period.
  4. Don't forget there's a screw accessed from the rear ash tray 'hole', you break it if it hasn't been done before!!
  5. Put this in general as it's not a corrado bit Can anyone id part number 6Q2 863 011C its a Polo carpet number apparently but I can't find which model for. Can anyone shed some light please? it's not on Vagcat and I've no access to ETKA. Cheers Colin
  6. Rear wheels look smaller than the front!!
  7. Don't forget Adrian Flux are just a broker so they don't hike the policy prices, although they will charge £25 admin unless they have to scrub it to get your premium under the competition, they've had to scrub it 3 years on the trot for me!!! 8)
  8. The metal-rubber-metal pipe was the one i changed from the fuel pump to the accumulator.
  9. Fitted a new driver's inner CV joint plastic shield, tightened the steering pump belt and splashed some waxoyl about. 8) Didn't sort the intermittent thumping from the front end - Arse :(
  10. I had to change mine at the 17 year period because the air-side of the matrix was blocked with fluff and dust!! Couldn't unblock it so changed the matrix - it was the original too!! Wished I'd done it at least a couple of years sooner to be honest

    Sunroof fix

Reading THIS THREAD (click on it) If you're able to tilt then it's most likely the cables etc are fine and your 'water guide plate', prob passenger side, needs replacing. Check out the thread, until you look you can't be certain what's wrong unfortunately - hope this helps. 8)

  13. Last I heard the by-pass valves are now obsolete (usual story  ) but worth checking, they assume everyone will have the newer mk3 matrix now i guess.
  14. If it's the accumulator pipe (14) it's about £27 + VAT from VW (and the seals are a few pence IIRC) Be prepared for all the associated unions to loosen off as well as the ones you want to come undo!!
  15. It was fecking temporary alright, 16012010686.jpg[/attachment:lzd24ni9] 10 days max :epicfail: cnuts!

  18. Here's the new bit (357 407 721A( now made of plastic so no further corrosion issues. Typical VW box overkill! climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfIMG_6422 (Large).JPG[/attachment:4gbpdcxi] Tom was right about the two 17mm bolts (N 010 251 6), big enough? Yes they are fitted the other way around. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfIMG_6423 (Large).JPG[/attachment:4gbpdcxi] As you can see access to the bolts should not be hampered by the driveshaft - just hope this cures the noise....... ......when I get around to fitting it!! IMG_6424 (Large).JPG[/attachment:4gbpdcxi] I think the problem I have is the lower bolt hole corner has corroded off and the shield, or 'Cap, protective' in VW parlance, has pivoted about the other bolt. Arse! .....mind you it's more arse if this doesn't stop the noise and I'm not convinced now that it will...
  19. I'd be interested if they didn't compromise comfort - my suspension is crashy enough already!!
