  1. Having cleaned mine lenses recently inside and out before putting the Lamin-x on I noticed the silver was starting to lift and thats with standard 55w/60w bulbs in (albeit the +80-90% ones). I changed them shortly after get the Corrado about 12 years ago so they will get bad with age regardless of high out bulb use. :(
  2. Ordered £100 of new bits and pieces from the stealers
  3. I 've found a decent loom, ie one that does the H4 dipped beam and uses and both the H4 and H3 bulbs for mainbeam, together with Osram Nightbreaker +90% H3s and Philips Extreme +80% H4s works superbly. Fitted Optic Blue Lamin-X now and the lights are a glorious white instead of nealy white.........and not gonna crack!! 8)
  4. What is the actual difference between the early/late lens then?
  5. Dave he's asking about arms not blades!! I never realised they were different!!
  6. Allen key the roof to the closed position, remove the motor from the sunroof assembly keeping it electrically plugged in, press the close button til the motor stops and then refit it. Should all be sync-ed 8)
  7.   :epicfail:[/quote:34o1q772] Harsh
  8. No pics of mine yet been raining and shitty!!!!
  9. Right I got a pair of used Mk4 rear calipers off e-bay recently and one of them looks virtually brand new and the other deffo doesn't!! I degreased the pair with some 3-in1 foaming citrus stuff and a brush and the good one has been rubbed over with some metal polish on a rag, the other is gonna need something stronger. stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfMK4 calipers 003 (Large).jpg[/attachment:2v5w89xc] Corrado92.pdfMK4 calipers 005 (Large).jpg[/attachment:2v5w89xc] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfMK4 calipers 009 (Large).jpg[/attachment:2v5w89xc] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfMK4 calipers 010 (Large).jpg[/attachment:2v5w89xc] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfMK4 calipers 012 (Large).jpg[/attachment:2v5w89xc] MK4 calipers 014 (Large).jpg[/attachment:2v5w89xc] I intend to have a go at removing the corrosion by electrolysis using info from THIS LINK (there's loads more out there!). I apprecaite Ally is quite soft so I'll have to be careful ie checking it every 5-10 minutes as opposed to 10 hours like you might with steel items, intend it may only need 15 minutes or so - famous last words :ignore: !! It's been mentioned here before but no-one appears to have put up any pics if they've done it. So, I've decided to give it a go, trying not to dissolve my caliper in the process, and bang up some pics of the results!!
  10. Glad it's all coming together again matey. 8)  please put up a pic of where it is now instead of whatever tom is sending you :) Part of me wants to see Toad's picture...........is that wrong??!!!! :gag:

    dust cap stuck

Have you tried warming them up? They should expand and loosen off - especially if they've tightened up in the cold!! 8)
  12. I'll try and take a better pic when the car's not, a) up against the front of the house, b)with the sun behind it, c) through a dirty window   Hopefully tomorrow! 8)
  13. indeed if the sunroof itself and the actual motor aren't sycronised you may make the job alot more awkward, or 'fiddly'
  14. Fair play - It has caught a few people out in the past!
  15. It'll be a doodle after get out your lights!! I wrapped my film aroung the edges by about 1/2" but on advice from Neil trimmed them to the groove the surrounds sit into so the cut is just past the surround edge. You should see what I mean with the surround off!! Done the fog/ind's in subtle too, crap picture below! Corrado Lamin-X crop (Large).JPG[/attachment:2dfh3uv9]
  16. Like I said in post 3

  18. And make sure if your sunroof is 'shut' the motor is in the 'shut' position too!! Piece of cake!
  19. How old is your matrix? Mine was an original and after 16-17 years it had just blocked with dust and fluff which I couldn't shift, meaning I had to change a basically sound matrix cos it was dirty! :camp:
  20. Deffo a bit worth 'maintaining'!! Loads of waxoyl!!
  21. Gonna do it straight after I shower, dress and have some lunch! Been a dressing gown and laptop morning but I've got stuff done now so that's good. More Lamin-X arrived today as well, the fogs and indicators are gonna get it too!!
  22. Unpacked my 'new' secondhand Mk4 rear calipers, that Parcel Farce left nextdoor without putting a ticket through the door, chap brought it round about 9pm-ish! Good man, although we did wonder who the feck it would be at that hour!!!! :nono: 'Check it's not weirdos before you open the door!' - yes dear! :salute:  Something to clean up - might even paint them!
  23. The only other one they dowith 90deg connectors is a 5.5m one HERE but at only £14 you have to wonder at the quality! I paid £40 for my 5m cable and feel adding the Maplin plugs is a better option for quality!! You pays your money and takes your choice!! at least you have options!! 8)
