These people are heavily controlled by hollywood, brainwashed even. All thier music, persona etc is scripted. They either do as their told or thier finished, and not in a p45 kind of way. Bieber is almost spent.
-
You should have a fan control module mounted below your coolang expansion bottle. There notoriously bad for failing and causing your symptoms.
-
Don't see the problem really. A wee mini F40 look-a-likey packing a rover v8.

It's a lot more rewarding making an original bay look good and and being actually to be able getting decent money for it. Put it this way, would you buy a car with an engine bay Sid McJakey smoothed and relocated everything?
-
But if was the answer would be a no.
-
If my opinion puts someone off attempting to smooth a corrado bay then its very relevant. Fair enough done properly it can be nice touch, but most are full of filler.
-
Best left to the mk3 show ponies in my opinion. One easy way to devalue an older car.
-
Seeing an high level of Corrados being broken at the moment too. Doesn't appear to be much hesitation in taking a G60 and using them for a doner for a conversion. I think with that in mind, and considering most are 20 year old now, values will always keep creeping up. I'll not be selling mine until it's perfect.

Not much of an update just a couple of pics. Have done very little to it bar drive it 4500 trouble free miles since it's been on the road. Although without a lambda sensor. As you can see i've replaced the nasty red/clear rear lights (someone paid me 50 actual pounds on ebay for them) with standard ones and it looks much more original. Engine has been using a bit of oil but was expected and will be sorted over winter. Windscreen cracked in both top corners and some rot behind there too. Plan to paint the whole car over winter too but the screen is top priority as mot is due soon. -
You an buy a cheap sniff tester whick takes a sample f the coolant. Is it actually bubbling out when you rev it from cold or does the issue arise only when up to temp. The reason I ask is that a cracked block may be more apparent when cold before thermal expansion begins to tighten things up.
-
Sadly that doesn't sound good. Possibly a warped or even cracked block if the heads been pressure tested and deemed fine. Have you checked the coolant for the presence of hydrocarbons?

Starting issues.....Stuttering and smoke please help :( VR6

Disconnect the connector for the lambda sensor located on the bracket secured to the top of the rear engine mount then see if it runs better, if it does then it's likely to be faulty, worth a shot anyway. Had a similar issue with my mk3 vr a year or so ago. -
Forgot i could post this link here so here it is. Auction ends at 6.20pm. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251527674659?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649

Funny you should mention that as i've not put that back on since I changed engines. Seems more apparent from exhaust though. Although only when moving. I have no carpets and a droning front wheel bearing so lots of noise going on.

Just a wee enqury. Between 1-2000rpm when just cruising my G60 sounds a bit like a subaru boxer engine, it's not misfiring. I do have a little excessive crankcase pressure whick is being dealt with after the summer. Just pushing a wee bit of oil into the intercooler but catch tank getting fitted shortly. The noise sounds good but is it normal due to the charger or possibly related to the above problem or another issue. Everything else is fine with the engine, pulls real good. Thanks in advance.
-
My G60 tells my i average around 36mpg over 240 odd miles and can go upto 45mpg on motorway. However its all lies unfortunately like most mfa mpg readings. Doing the math i'm getting around 27-30mpg. My oxygen sensor is disconnected just now though.

Is other motorists "checking out" the Corrado ?
Gti_Jamo replied to Mawrick's topic in Off-topic Chat
Em i read something somewhere i'm sure. I've sold alot of classic cars over the years and seen the market decline. Tend to only run cars that increase in value now hence why i got a g60 this summer. Dont do depreciation anymore lol. -

This is the 80's and 90's cars beginning to take over the mantle from the 60's and 70's cars. Their enthusiasts are all pushing 60-70 year old and less interested in reliving the good old days. The man in the porsche was probably reminiscing about his younger corrado days and now yearns for another. Good for the car and it's value. -
Welcome, my g60 melted a piston after only one day of ownership if it makes you feel better.

After spending ages sorting out my over fueling issie I finally got the g60 on the road. Rear lights are getting changed back to standard. As for how she runs I can't fault it. No burning oil or blow back issues as yet. Pulls well although i've not strained it too much. Bad news on the charger though as it's a stage 2 not a 3 as advertised when I bought it. Contacted jabbasports with numbers which confirmed this so it last rebuild was actuallt back in 1999 around 40k ago. They don't even offer stage 3's apparently. It does still sound fine and boost well but yet to record an actual figure. It's also developed a misfire after around 100 miles or so on the road, only once warm, which either disconnecting lambda or the blue temp sensor cures it so need to look into that further. I've just left lambda disconnected for now. It's only a couple of weeks old but a non oem part so maybe killed it already. The ohms on the BTS appear normal but I do get quite an increase in revs when disconnecting that regardless of wether lambdas hooked up or not. I'm happy all the major stuffs working fine though, that was my main concern. A much better car from when I first got it, bay looks much happier now. Still got to refit most of the interior as its pretty much a dash and seats just now as it was leaking water. Just the door membranes I think. More updates soon. -
Cool i'll have a look at that tomorrow mate cheers.

Ok so just fitted a Rallye 1H engine in my Corrado to replace the PG and now that it's running I can't seem to sort out this issue. The engine is timed correctly as is the ignition timing. I can set the emmisions on idle via the CO pot adjustment at 0.3% but as soon as the blue temp sensor is reconnected it rises above 10% 'and eventually of the scale. Lots of unburned fuel / black smoke from the exhaust. Have tried another temp switch but still the same. Disconnecting the lambda makes no difference but am getting just short of 12v at the multiplug but would a failed lambda cause my symptoms? Also the ecu is getting sufficient voltage also. I'm sure I can figure it out eventually but any pointers will be much appreciated. I don't have Bentley but instead various other books and printouts with mostly conflicting info. Cheers.

Cheers buddy. Yeah the building back up is always the best part. How she sits this evening. -
They must hit it with a wire brush and remove the paint. My recently purchased corrado looked mint, but after peeling back the seal it's actually rotten through on the top drivers side and can also clearly see removed paint all along it. Not sure when or where it was done but not good.
