  1. If you still have the Jetex and I can paypal you, I could pop up and collect tomorrow. PM me.
  2. This is now SOLD Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  3. I've bought a couple of the plug and play ones that busboy (or something like that) does on eBay. Excellent.
  4. I (with a mate) reshelled a mk2 Rocco... Single garage (more of a hindrance than a help .. Forever running out of space to stand, couldn't open a door fully etc) and a sloping driveway. We wheeled the dead shell out into the street strapped to some kind of bread pallet on wheels .... Neighbours loved us (!) Everything except the loom was swapped (sound deadening, headlining, the lot) in a week, but that was in the summer... Not sure I'd start anything that serious at this time of year though.
  5. If you don't already have them, proper 5 sided brake pipe spanners are an excellent investment! Its so easy to round them off with regular spanners
  6. They're the easiest engines of this era to do! Just the alternator /pas pump brackets to remove and you can get straight to it. I'd get a new genuine thermostat (dear, but I've had issues with every aftermarket one I've fitted!) And a new thermostat housing (they warp and often font like sealing again once they've been off!)
  7. If you need more pressure from the retro pegs, wrapping rubber bands round them works well.
  8. I bought and fitted the ebay seal last week. Had a VERY slight leak - investigated to find the inevitable rust... I treated that, then skimmed with chemical metal, then primed and painted. Looks spot on fitted, but ended up with sealant (I used soudal fixall) all over the car, seal, my hands (despite 2 pairs of gloves) fence, helpful neighbour etc etc (I hate sealant!) I didn't remove the screen, so applied sealant then fitted the vertical plastice 1st, then the top bit (plenty of time to move stuff around on the wet sealant) then more sealant round the lot and then the long seal. I actually found the long seal a bit TOO long - ended up cutting an inch or so off 1 end. Celulose thinners on a rag shifted the excess sealant off everything.
  9. trim inside the boot Open the boot, look down... If you've had big/heavy stuff in the boot, this trim will be mangled. I bought this as ours had yellow marks... Naturally, once I gave them a rub with some meths, they came straight off, leaving me with this sat in the shed waiting to get something dropped on it and broken. There's one bit of damage (pictured) but that falls below the catch, so you'd have to be at a properly funny angle to spot it. A faff to post, but I'll be at Stanford hall, retro rides gathering, probably deva or could get it to either mk1 or mk2 golf OC gatherings, otherwise it's collection from Coalville, LE67 List Date: 4/20/2015 Location: Coalville LE67, United Kingdom For more info, click here to view the original listing: trim inside the boot -------------------------------------- On Sale For: ?10.00 (Local Pickup Only) -------------------------------------- Mobile friendly version: trim inside the boot Go Mobile: Download the free Panjo iOS app now!
  10. 90mm splitter 90mm splitter for sale. Bought by Mrs. Fonzooorooo in error (she thought it was a 50mm) ... no point in me fitting it as our driveway'll kill it(!) I've been fussy with the pics and shown every bit of damage so you know EXACTLY what you're getting... Certainly worth half the new price. 11. I've heard a few cases of jag enthusiast club guys sending big restoration out to Poland... I can see why - the "scene tax" we moan about is like a drop in the ocean for old jag work!
  12. Not got one, but I'll be shared with other models with the same setup... Like a black plastic turret which makes it squirt straight in front of the wiper blade.
  13. I know the in pro ones are rhd-able, but has anyone converted the fk ones? Just collecting info at the moment - I might still go down the route of re silvering the original reflectors, but spotted the fk headlights are currently silly cheap!
  14. See you've got the right colour this time [cough COPYCAT cough]
  15. Looks spot on. I'll idiot-check the part number tomorrow before committing.
  16. If the steering cowl is undamaged I'm interested. Any chance of a picture and a price posted to le67? Cheers.
  17. as it stands, our corrado IS our newest car... and it's hibernating away from the salt. The mk2 replaced an '03 polo for Mrs Fonzooorooo (she'd had the polo from new and the mk2's an '89) over 2 years ago now and she loves it. The newest car I've ever had was an N reg passat - I got rid of that this year and replaced it with a K reg. My mate's mrs has just go rid of a '04 volvo and replaced it with a mk3 cabrio. The newer they are, the less character they have, the dearer the parts are and the more of a faff they are to work on. In 10 years, I've had 1 headgasket fail while I was out, (on an overworked and underpaid 1L mk3 polo) 1 weber carb fail (only a year from new too! on a mk2 'rocco) and 1 thermostat fail(recently on the mk2)... They're the only occasions I've needed to get a tow home, otherwise I've been able to schedule jobs to do at my convenience. The flip-side of that is that I DO have jobs to do.... The jack and spanners are close at hand, I'm on 1st name terms with most of the staff at my local motor factors etc etc.
  18. Sounds promising then - I'm thinking more in terms of the B3 than the 'rado to be honest - using the mk2 levers and fascia then making up a trim panel if necessary. ... Both cars (both over 170K miles) had broken direction controls when I bought them - I've only tried to fix the 'rado one (which I got about 6 months out of before my repair failed) ... The cables feel OK. So the 'rado cables are the same early to late then? (checking I won't need the cables off the mk2)
  19. I assume it's not simple, as everyone'd be doing it - but I haven't found any references.... I had some short term success with the usual direction control failure by doing a bit of plastic welding, but that's failed now and my daily B3 passat's suffered the same fate. A lad's breaking a mk2 locally, so I'm planning to grab the controls off that (which are the same as early 'rado, right?) and have a play - it'll either work or it won't(!) but any info' be handy!
  20. I gave the exhaust a tweek last week to stop it banging on the back axle. It was lovely for 1 journey, then started to blow. Got round to jacking it up this evening to find the back box has parted company with its pipe. NOT ideal! None of the system looks much good after the cat, so I may as well do the lot. I've only got as far as ebay and GSF website so far, I'll be ringing my usual motor factors in the morning, but do any of you have any pointers for suppliers of a standard type system (ideally not at a silly price!) ? What about compatibility with mk2 or mk3 systems? Cheers.
  21. Assuming you've got new top nuts with your coilovers: I had success on the last nightmare one I had by drilling approx 4mm downwards through the nut, once each side, then cold chiselled through it. Just a thought if you're struggling to get it to a garage.
  22. Well.. not much activity on the 'rado front... It's been off the road for the winter - should be taxed again next month. In "fleet news", the B4 TDI passat's gone and has been replaced with a B3 8v. The mk1's taxed again (also comes off the road for winter). The mk2's had a bit of love (new 2nd hand headlining etc) and is basically behaving itself nicely. There was an ebay impulse purchase though.... another 'rado. This one's dragon green (ish) and rather lacking in detail, I've resprayed it to match the 8v:
  23. Excellent. Thanks. Pics of the 2 (to make hunting easier!)
