Yeah sounds like the fuel pump is on it's way out. Hope you get it sorted. Si

My Corrado is due to go in the body shop, for some restoration work including having the front wings repaired, but now I'm tempted to go for the Carbon Fiber ones, but only if it's the later VR6 wings that will be reproduced. Si

Hello there, the exterior fuel pump part number is 191-906-091H and is the 60mm diameter fuel pump for 2.0 16v (9A eng code) Cost new from VW Heritage is £98.00 Or you could try Ebay I've seen the pump on there for about £58.00 Or try Euro Car Parts or GSF. One thing you'll need to replace though as well is the 3 retaining screws, that hold the pump in place, the part number of which is N104-047-01 Cost of the screws is £0.44 + VAT per each from VW Main Dealer. Normally the screws round off when removing them or the heads are badly rusted, so like I say it's always best to replace them. Hope this helps Si

Just found this on the VW Heritage site, not in the Corrado section but in the MK2 Golf section, it's the rear stub axle dirt / dust plate covers that slide over onto the inner end of the stub axle flange, they help to stop any dirt getting into the hub bearing or damaging the bearing seal. The part number is 191-501-639A and is under the MK2 Golf section but this item fits the Corrado as well. Cost of the above item is £7.10 per each. Don't forget to check the MK2 Golf section for Corrado parts as well, as some are listed there. Si

On the VW Heritage site it says both outer scraper seals are due back in stock in about one week, plus also they've got stock now of both the inner left and right window seals, they're about £28.50 each. Si

Hello Jon_VR6, I've had delivery of the self lubricating bushings that fit into the wiper spindles, I've tried to fit them and they fit perfect. Jon if you're still interested in purchasing the bushings like I say they're now in. Sorry for the long wait, it was due to a back log of orders that the machine company I used had to get through, hence the long waiting time of 3 weeks. Cost of the Sleeve bushes per each £0.50p X4 = £2.00 and £1.00 for postage = total cost £3.00 PS, I've also sent you a PM of the above. Many thanks Si -
Wiper linkage arm (Longer linkage) 536-955-326

Hello VR6Dom, thanks for letting me know you've received your item ok, I'll update the above list. Once again many thanks Si -
Hello there, yeah the item on the far left is the fuel pressure accumulator, when they play up you'll normally have to turn the engine over quite a few times until it catches and starts, which would mean the fuel pressure is dropping. Or they can become very rusty after 18 to 20 years of being on the car, which can fail the MOT if they're really rusty, and the same with the two fuel pipes. New from VW Main Dealer they were about £120.00 back in 2012 / 2013, and from VW Heritage they are about £169.00 but it's not in stock with them, but you can order it in. You might also be able to find / order a new one off Ebay possibly, I wouldn't fit a secondhand one as you don't really know what condition the inner diaphragm will be like, it's always best to fit new where you can. OEM part number is 431-133-441C (for K-Jetronic 1.8 16v) OEM part number is V447-133-441 (for KE-Motronic 2.0 16v) Hope this helps Si

Hello there, I think the three rivits that hold the window motor to the door are about 6mm, the ones I fitted were the stainless ones from VW , and all the rest are about 5mm which were just standard alloy ones. The VW part number for the three stainless rivits is VN904-786-01 (£0.80p per each) Well they were about £0.80p the last time I bought them. Hope this helps Si

Hello matt, no worries mate thanks for the update, give me a shout when you want payment. Many thanks Si

is citreon saxo 1.5 diesel a good car? and where to go for insurance.
vw rule replied to redhotpq's topic in Off-topic Chat
Hello there, the Citroen Saxo is basically the same as the Peugeot 106 as both these companies share the same parts like VW and Audi do. The petrol engines they use the TU engine and a similar one for the 1.5 diesel, the diesel engine can suffer with oil leaks, head gasket, piston liner seals can fail, and the gearbox can be a problem on high mileage cars. Production was from 1996 to around 2004 Fuel economy is around 65 to 80 MPG for the diesel. Things to look out for are: Stiff heavy clutch pedal = as the clutch is known to wear and can snap clutch cable if left. Handbrake cables bulge and bend out of shape = causing rear brakes to stick on slightly. Front outer CV boots are known to split open = if left will wear outer CV joints. Front suspension lower arm bushes are well know for wearing out = first signs of this is wear on the inner tyre tread. Radiators can leak on high mileage cars = normally leak down the bottom of the radiator core on left or right side. Cam belts can snap = should be changed every 56,000 miles, book says 72,000 miles but like I say the belts can snap, also should replace tensioner and idler. Water pumps can leak = normally start leaking at around 72,000 miles. Can suffer with very bad oil leaks = normally valve cover gasket needs replacing or has been done, but they haven't replaced the retaining bolt bush seals. Rear main oil seals can leak as well. And vacuum pump seals leak as well. Can suffer with fuel leaks = from fuel filter housing and from old warn injector bleed off hoses, which can give you bad starting issues. Front brake discs are easily warped = normally only last for 30,000 to 40,000 miles max. Ignition barrels wear out easily = ignition key will feel really notchy when switching ignition on / off mainly on high mileage cars. Door check straps are well known for breaking = normally you'll feel / hear a load clonking noise when opening / closing doors. Gearbox / selector can fail = mainly on high mileage cars. Can suffer with bad cold starting = glow plug relays burn out or cheap glow plugs fitted, should only use Bosch or Beru plugs. Heater hoses can leak = mainly due to the bleed caps being snapped off and just being left. All in all not a bad cheap car really, but they do and can have there problems as stated above. Regarding the insurance do as what VAG-hag has said and go on (compare the market.com) Hope this helps Si -
Hello mate, received both switches yesterday, nice one cheers. Si

Hello mate, where abouts are you in the UK, you can borrow / use my VGATE scanner, just to make sure it works on your VR6, to be honest I'm sure it will be fine. I'm willing to drive half way to meet you, so you can try the VGATE scanner. I'm in Bournemouth, Dorset. I did my research before purchasing my scanner, read loads of reviews on different scanners, and watched YouTube video reviews. The one that got the best review, was the VGATE VS450 as it states it works, on VW and Audi cars from 1990 to 2009, which I can confirm it works ok. Also the VAG-COM got very good reviews, but can have communication difficulties, with the data link cables they use, plus some software does and doesn't work, with the 2.0 16v where as it normally works fine on the VR6. I believe there are a few different software versions with VAG-COM, your best bet is to read through the VAG-COM review and help thread. Like I say I'm willing to drive and meet you half way so you can try my VGATE scanner, if you are possibly thinking of purchasing one. Hope this helps Si

Yeah will do no worries. Many thanks Si -
Just been looking on line at a few things, and the Autel scanners work on most USA cars from 1996 onwards with the OBD2 16 pin diagnostic plug, and from 2000 / 2001 omwards on UK cars again with the OBD2 16 pin plug. Like Jon_VR6 has already said must be the reason why the scanners you have aren't working on your Corrado's. Si
