  1. Hello Sharper, thank you for your payment I'll send out your item tomorrow morning, i.e Saturday 23/9/2017 I've sent you a PM of the above also. Thanks again Si
  2. Well it's been a bit of an up and down journey with things breaking, trying to find various faults over the years :nurse:, 15 years I've owned my Corrado 2.0 16v, since 2002. 25 when I bought it and now I'm 41. I used to own a Scirocco Scarla from 1998 to 2002, never really had any major problems with it, well only the Pierburg carburettor packed up so had to get it sorted. Where as on the Corrado loads of things have been repaired / replaced over the years, but it's the only car I know where you normally always look back at it, when you've parked it up, think it's that cheetah stance look with the wide arches like the elbows of a big cat, the raised up rear wings / spoiler like a big cat ready to pounce on it's prey :evilbat: I have been tempted to go for a Toyota GT86 just for a change, but for now I'm keeping the Corrado for that cheetah look, and the way it drives  Si
  3. Thanks Sharper I've received your delivery address, just waiting for payment now before I can send your item, I sent you a PM of payment details late on yesterday after I finished work. Many thanks Si
  4. Hello Gti-Jamo, thanks for your interest in the linkage, I'll take note of this. Apologies but I've given first refusal to Benji-27 of the last linkage I have, if I don't get a reply from Benji-27 after a month or so, then Gti-Jamo I'll give you a shout. Many thanks Si
  5. Hi Sharper, thanks for your PM reply like I said I'm off work tomorrow all day so can post your item then. Many thanks Si
  6. Blimey O'reilly that's not a bad price really, I think I paid £300ish back in 2015 for a set of new roof strips, from someone on this forum that had a set that they wanted to sell. I just thought well we won't see this part new again, or if we do it'll just be the left side only that'll be available, but fair play this part is back and both sides too. Top work Anna nice one.
  7. Hello Benji-27 and Sharper, right I've managed to find the new spare wiper linkages, that's the good news, the bad news is that I've only the two left in stock, I've sent you both a PM saying that I can offer you both one linkage each. It looks like Benji-27 posted on this thread back on 5th April 2017, like I said in the PM to you apologies for not getting back to you sooner, I've just been snowed under with work. To keep it fair I'll give you first refusal of the second spare linkage, if I don't hear from you I'll send you another PM, and go from there. Other then that I'll offer it to who ever needs it urgently, but like I say I'll wait for Benji-27 to reply first hopefully. Many thanks Si
  8. Hello Benji-27 and Sharper, yes I believe I've got a few left not sure if it's 3 or 5, I'll have to look in the garage or shed to be sure and get back to you. I'll send you both a PM once I've found them, the price will be what it was back in 2014 for each linkage. Many thanks Si
  9. Hello there, I've been too busy unfortunately over the last 18 months, to go any further with the company Etektuning regarding their surge tank & 044 pump set up. I haven't been on this forum for ages now due to other commitments, I'm just starting to get time back to myself, to get back on with my Corrado, which has been off the road now since early / mid part of 2015. I managed to get hold of a decent secondhand original Corrado 16v fuel surge tank, as a spare plus also to take measurements from, as I intended to get it copied close to OEM as possible, I was looking at 3D printing or fabrication firms. But like I say just haven't had the time lately I will get back on this as it's an issue that needs a solution, sooner rather then later. Si
  10. I've only just noticed this thread, that would be amazing to get these later fog light lenses reproduced, shame really VW Heritage can't get hold of them, but then I suppose they would be hellish expensive then ?? Looking on the VW Classic Parts site they do have the complete left side later style fog light unit, but like always it's just the left side that's available and it's not cheep :( I suppose we do have a few options. 1) Have them remade by VW Classic Parts (but only if we all chip in together ??) 2) Have them 3D printed possibly ?? 3) Get new moulds made of the lenses by a good glass or plastic company, and have a batch reproduced ?? But all this has been mentioned already pretty much. There might be more but this is what I can find regarding CORRADO OWNERS CLUBS below. There's the ( Corrado owners Club UK ) ( Corrado owners club canada ) ( Corrado owners club Germany e.V ) ( Corrado owners club France ) Or it's like what TOMI has already said and get a list together on facebook ?? Si
  11. I've just seen the Wheeler Dealer episode on YOUTUBE, it was quite good really, nice to finally see a Corrado on there. Would've been nice though at the end to of seen a load of Corrado owners and their cars, like what they did at the end of the Delorean episode a few years back. Si
  12. Basically it was a Golf arm that had been sent to me. Roughly measuring from the centre of the front wishbone bush to the centre of one of the front ball joint bolt holes in the arm is 360mm for Corrado 16v's, and roughly 380mm for the Golf arm. With the arms lose on the floor on top of one another roughly inline they look the same, but fitting the Golf arm on the Corrado it pushes the hub out ever so slightly and so puts the geometry out, it may have been mentioned before I'm not sure but thought I'd post up the rough measurements for anyone that may need it. Si
  13. I replaced the front cross member support bushes, and at the same time fabricated up a new air scoop for the radiator support brace, as the old one was rotten close to where the power steering pipe goes through. Then removed the drivers side wing so I could cut the rust out from the base of the A-pilla, then make a patch to fit exactly in the hole I made, and weld it in place then grind the weld down neatly, and treat all the bare metal with some rust eater which acts as a under coat just to be safe, then a coat of primer followed by a coat of red oxide, then a coat of grey stonechip, and then finally a coat of black hammerite. Removed one of the rubber bungs under the floor close to the jacking point, so I could spray some wax oil up into the box section, including on the bare weld i.e back of the patch. Also welded / repaired the drivers side bumber support bracket, again rust treated and painted up with multiple layers. Tomorrow if I get time I'll be fitting new front lower track control arms, with Audi TT bushes as people have mentioned it's a good upgrade to do. Si
  14. That video DOX is so funny  Yeah VW shouldn't have done what they did, and yes it's a kick in the nuts for them, but they'll come back from this once all the issues have been rectified, and all the bad news has died down it'll then be pushed under the carpet and forgotten about, just like everything else is. Si
  15. Oh fair play cheers for that mate, that's a good site to know, a mate of mine has his own garage so he'll fit my new tyre for free anyway. Thanks Si
  16. I've been looking for a new spare tyre for my Corrado for ages, due to the tyre being 20 years old, tried all my local tyre places and just get told, sorry Sir that tyre is no longer available not much call for it anymore. I've tried, Tyreland, Bathwick Tyres, Kwik fit, and a few others near me in Dorset just had no joy. Anyway I found a seller / garage selling this type of tyre i.e 125/70R15 on Ebay for £55.00 with free postage, so have bought one which arrived today, so will have it fitted tomorrow. Just thought I'd share this incase anyone else was having trouble finding the space saver spare tyre. here's the EBay item numbers: 151623238380 and 271988491158 Si
  17. Right here we go roughly over the last 13 years of owning my Corrado I've spent on parts alone about £10,000 :suprised:
  18. Hello there, could be your thermostat is staying closed and so not opening at 87 degree. C, or it's an air lock, did you bleed the air out of the cooling system via the expansion bottle with the pressure cap off. Si
  19. Wow that original photo reminds me of our UK borders, they're only made of thin tape as well, lol
  20. Yeah there's some nice car's in that top 10 list  Ferrari 355 awesome car, but it's not a Corrado, lol The Alfa is a nice looking car, quite fast as well the V6 and the chrome plated inlet tubes look amazing. The Skyline is really quick not a bad car, but for me personally I think the Toyta Supra is a better looking car from 1993 onwards. The Lotus again is a good looking car, the power to weight ratio is awesome, but has quite hard suspension and the seats aren't very comfortable not much padding, well the last one I sat in was like that. Dream car from that list would be the 355 but as that isn't going to happen, the Corrado is the next best thing for me, even with all it's usual problems I'd still choose the Corrado. Thanks for finding this :D Which car's do you think will be in the top 10 in the future from 2000 to 2010 Si
  21. Hello mate, right I've found the manual that's the good news, but the bad news is it's for the Sigma M10, M20, M30 series from 1999 to about 2005. I've had a read through it in the section regarding the remote alarm keysfobs, it basically says you need the pin code which you must enter into the keypad, the security pin code should be printed on a set of small silver labels that would of come with the alarm system when it was first installed. With out the security pin code for the keypad you can't add more keyfobs, in which case you'll need to contact the last owner of the car, or contact the alarm installer / manufacturer for a override pin code. I see that you've been given a set of numbers to enter from the last owner according to your first post, if those numbers then don't work then you may have to contact the alarm installer / manufacturer for a override access code. With your cars service history have you got the alarm installers invoice and certificate, as it will have their contact details on it and a reference number to give to them over the phone. Sorry I can't be of more help. Si
  22. Hello there, I had a Sigma alarm fitted to one of my cars years ago, I think I've still got the manual / leaflet somewhere, I'll have a look around and if I find it I'll let you know what it says, I'm sure I had a key pad on that alarm as well. Si
  23. You'll need a good VR6 engine, but the 2.9 is fairly rare to get hold of, where as the 2.8 is a bit more common as it was used in the MK3 Golf VR6. You'll need the VR6 gearbox as the gear ratios are matched to the engine. Complete VR6 engine bay wiring looms and ECU, various other relays that the 16v don't use (all Corrados use the same fuse box, just use different wiring looms on 4 cylinder & 6 cylinder engines) All coolant hoses. radiator (might be a slightly larger core to that used on the 16s) Radiator lower support beam. coolant expansion bottle. Exhaust manifold. Exhaust down pipe. Engine / gearbox mounts. Corrado VR6 front subframe (I think there are differences between VR6 & 16s) Drive shafts. Lower suspension arms. Anti roll bar & link joints (you might get away with using your 16v ones, depends how they line up. I know the VR6 anti roll bar is slightly thicker in diameter compared to the 16s) Steering tie rods (VR6 has a slightly wider track so you may need the steering tie rods) Electrics = 16v Corrado alternator is 90amp and the circuit goes through the instrument cluster unit. VR6 Corrado alternator is 120amp or somewhere near that, and again circuit goes through the instrument cluster unit, so you may well need the VR6 clocks ?) Dash wiring to clocks = (instrument cluster unit) Throttle cable. Vacuum hoses. Air flow sensor. Air box. Fuel pump. Fuel tank (later 16v uses 70L fuel tank same as VR6, just depends how different the pump fitting is between the two models. Regarding the VR6 engine if it's fairly bare, then you might need other bits like, Inlet manifold, Coil pack, HT leads, Various sensors. This is just a taste of what you may need. I can understand why you want to change, as the fuel system on the Corrado 16v is 1970s / early 1980s technology from the MK1 Golf, it's the lazy metering head that let's it down, VW kept this system up until 1995 / 1996 ok it was slightly updated but not by that much. Other cars used decent electronic multi point injection that didn't use the metering head and so they were more responsive and lively. I know the 16v Corrado isn't the quickest but it handles so well on the road and still has the good looks, same as the VR6 & G60. What about fitting throttle bodies to your 16v, with all the right gear you could get the horse power up to near 200. Or fit a Audi TT engine, these are 1.8 20v turbo charged with 180 BHP or 225 BHP as standard. Or use a MK3 Golf 2.0 16v ABF engine, with all the bit needed, this engine has 150 BHP as standard, and is miles more responsive then the old 9A set up. Or bolt a supercharger to your 9A with all the work done to cope with the extra horse power. Hope this helps. Si
  24. Got it sorted finally, the suspension arm in the photos above was ok, but the other arm I purchased was a slightly different arm in shape and measurement. The company I bought from insisted it was correct but it wasn't, it's taken roughly 3 weeks to get it sorted out and my money back. Anyway I'll be going to my local car parts place, won't be using EBay for anything like this again, the company off there I bought from just isn't trust worthy.
  25. vw rule

    pin removal?

I think I may have miss read this :bonk: Are you talking about the wire connectors where they attach inside the connector block, if so I normally use a small thin pick or a very small electrical screw driver, to push / hook them out. Si
