Wiper linkage arm 536-955-325 I have a few to sell.
vw rule replied to vw rule's topic in Forum Group-Buys
Hello Jon yeah that's it then you have to carefully knock out the old bearing bush sleeves, with a soft punch and hammer. I haven't had delivery of them yet as they're being made to the spec I asked for, but are due to arrive to me I'm hoping next week. I'll give you a shout once they've been delivered. PS, I've sent you a PM of the above. Many thanks Si -

Hello there, which scanner did you purchase ? It depends on which scanner it is but some don't work on a few cars. The early Corrado's had the two diagnostic plugs, the 2 pin black plug and the 2 pin white plug. The later Corrado's have the one plug, a 16 pin block connector. I bought a scanner about 2 weeks ago and it works fine, the one I went for is the VGATE VS450 scanner does VW and Audi cars from 1990 to around 2009 and may be later. (It's able to comunicate to the car through the old style black and white connectors and the later 16 pin block connector) A lot of the forum members have a laptop and run the VAG-COM data software, which again is purely for the VW and Audi cars. I would try your scanner on a different car just to make sure it is working ok, other then that it may not be able to connect to your vehicle. Most scanners won't switch on until they're connected to the cars diagnostic plug, where as a lot of the more expensive scanners have there own battery built in, and so will switch on with out being connected. Hope this helps Si

Hello there and welcome to the forum. I've just ordered a few parts for my Corrado, and at the same time made some enquiries at my local VW Dealer. 2.0 16v Eng (9A) Throttle body whole item is now obsolete (was over £1000.00 new from VW) = Obsolete since 2010 Throttle position switch is now obsolete (was £68.00 new from VW) = Obsolete since 2012 (But I'm sure you can still purchase the position switch, from VW Heritage and off Ebay and possibly from Euro Car Parts) Throttle body allen key bolts are £1.83 + VAT per each = 4 of these bolts are fitted, Part number is: N10-073-701 Throttle body gasket is £3.50 + VAT = fits between throttle body & inlet manifold. All Corrado's Door handles are now obsolete since 2008 Door handle ruber gasket, fits between handle and outer door skin = gasket is now obsolete Door lock central locking micro switches are now obsolete Door lock / boot lock barrel wafer pins and springs are £72.00 + VAT = for a large bag of wafers / springs (The wafers you use to recode a lock barrel) (Was told the wafers are the same as the VW van / T4 1990 to 2003) Hope this Helps Si

Quick update. I've had a reply from the company that I was in contact with regarding the brass sleeve bushings, they can produce and send me a batch of them. Cost is £0.50p per each sleeve bush, 4 of them are fitted into the spindles 2 per side. Cost break down: Sleeve bushes per each £0.50p X4 = £2.00 can send out with linkage order, once I have delivery of them. Or for the bushes to be sent out on their own 4 of £3.00 These are the self lubricating sleeve bushings that the 2 wiper spindle shafts rotate in. If you do need any please give me a shout, I'll be having delivery of them in the next few days. Many thanks Si -

You've got black negative (earth) cable 25mm thick from battery to body, also a brown 4mm thick wire goes to the fuse box, it fits in Z2 which is top right looking from the back, or top left looking from the front, it's a single spade connector. The red positive (live) cable 25mm thick goes from battery to starter motor, then red 6mm thick live cable from starter to alternator. A 6mm red positive battery wire goes from battery to back of fuse box, it fits in Y3 which is top left of fuse box looking from the back, or top right looking from the front, it's a single spade connector. That's your main power supply to your fuse box. 6 contacts on ignition switch. looks like 5 are used, looking at the connector plug face on. Bottom left (15) is brown wire I think. Bottom right (X) is black / yellow wire Middle left (50) is red / black wire Middle centre (30) is red wire Middle right (S) or (SU) is brown / red wire Looks like (X) goes to the load reduction relay which is number 4 relay in the fuse box. Bottom right relay is the fuel pump relay which is number 12 just above fuses 20 and 22 (50) goes to the starter motor. (30) looks like power supply from battery (so when ignition switch is turned on it completes the circuit and turns dash lights on) (15) is on circuit 36 which looks like is a shared earth or something with the ABS warning sensor switch, brown wire I think. Looks like as well from alternator the charging circuit passes through the instrument cluster wiring loom. Check load reduction relay. check alternator operation. Check you have power and correct earth to starter motor. Something is staying on or has burnt out possibly. I'll have another look tomorrow after work if I have time. Hope this helps Si

Just had a thought what head light switch have you got fitted is it the original one, it's just that the original style switches can get quite hot, and melt inside melting part or all of the headlight wiring loom, which can cause other errors as the wires will then fuse together. Again this happened to me back in 2006. Si

Right sounds like something has shorted out. does everything work ok on the car, does it start up ok. Could be a relay or control unit, theres a lot of electrics that can share / go through the same control unit. But it does sound like something has shorted out. I'll have a look in my Bentley manual. Your radio should keep it's memory once the ignition is switched off, so there is something a miss. Hope this helps Si

Hello mate, I'll go for the later window switches please. Drivers side £10.00 Passenger side £10.00 Thanks Si

No worries hope you get it all sorted. Si

Hello Rich, possibly could be your ignition switch is playing up, as they can cause a few problems. What happens is the inner contacts burn out, or wear down causing a continuous current, even when you've switched the ignition off via the key. The ECU only controls the engines sensors like the ignition / fuel system, there's one ECU for the engine in the engine bay, and there's another one inside the car for the ABS braking system. You should have power from the battery to your fuse box part of which is not powered until the ignition is turned on via the ignition switch, you might have to check the wiring from the ignition switch to see if the switch is working correctly. you should have continuous power to your radio and possibly your dash LED clock, apart from that everything on the dash should be off, if the dash is still lit up or has power then something is telling it to stay on. I had a fault very similar to yours, and my problem was the ignition switch had burnt out causing a continuous current, which kept my ABS light lit. Hope this helps Si

I've had a look around on line and from what I can see, the part number I think for the MK4 Polo is 6N0-422-155E and has 72 Bar which must be the pressure rating I guess. Have a look tomorrow and see if that matches the one on your car now. EDIT: Looks like the Corrado VR6 part number is 1H0-422-155 or 6N0-145-157 Looks like the Corrado pump may have a max pressure rating of around 90 BAR. Hope this helps Si

Hello Micky Fletch, thank you for your payment, I'll be sending your item out on Tuesday due to the bank holiday, so you should receive your item later on next week. PS, I've sent you a PM of the above also. Once again many thanks Si -
Yeah you should be able to turn the steering wheel with one hand when the car is parked and engine running. Is the power steering belt on tight enough, plus how did the Polo pump feel when you spun the pulley flange by hand, did it feel tight or notchy or anything ?? Si
-
Hello there, not too sure on this one but have found some info on the forum. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=60319 I'm not saying it is but the secondhand pump you've fitted could be warn. The Corrado has wider wheels / tyres than the Polo, so the smaller puller will help the pump to spin faster on the Corrado to give more assistance, and larger puller on the Polo will make the pump spin slightly slower as it doesn't need as much assistance. Regarding a difference in pressure I don't know, are there any part numbers on the two pumps ? Si

Quick update. I'm in talks with a company that can possibly run me a batch of the self lubricating brass sleeve bushings, the ones that fit in the wiper spindles. There's 2 in each spindle so 4 in total would be needed. They simply knock out using a soft punch and hammer, I've managed to strip my old spare wiper mechanism down and get the old brass sleeve bushes out, from one of the spindle housings. I'm just waiting for a reply from the company I'm in contact with, looks like cost will be something like £4.00 for all 4 brass sleeve bushes, postage is already included in the price, or can sell them for slightly less when ordering with the linkage / linkages. I'll update as soon as I hear back from the company. Many thanks Si -
