Sorry to bang on about this, but the fuse(s) are definitely ok in the car... is there anything else? Is there an easy way to check the power is gettin to the mirrors/rear window, without pulling the door cards off?
-
Hey, The VR6's just hit its 80k'th mile now, I'm beginning to wonder is there anything due to be replaced at this time? Daft question I expect; I do have some history of the car but not many bills, so I don't believe its ever had any substantial work done on it. Do wheel bearings or chains etc need changing at this time?? The car has done mostly motorway mileage...... but the engine does feel slightly rough at times and I've got this annoying 'whoosh-whoosh' sound coming from the belt. It had a 'full' service done at 77k, but I don't think they did a *great* job for the money. P.s Or do I sell it and buy an integra type R? Also there does seem to be a lot of body-roll, not too great on the brakes and very slippy in the wet.

... well it was dark

ok..... maybe I'm being a complete div here.. but, the fuse for the rear heater n mirrors etc, is no.9 I'm lead to believe, is that 9 in from the right or the left of the fusebox? I've looked at both and visually they don't look blown. Unless I'm just being impatient???? Could it be a relay??
-
these are definitely heated mirrors..... because I had to pay £120 each from the stealer!!
-
Cheers... Actually looking into it, it would appear that they share a fuse... £100000000000 says I have a blown fuse when I get off me backside and go and check
-
Hi, can someone confirm for me, are the wing mirrors supposed to be heated? If so, are they in any way linked to the rear window heater??? Also is the connector for the rear window heater wiring in the boot lid or in the rear section of the roof? Neither of mine appear to work!!
-
its completely manually.. will only ever do anything on the switch.. I will try n lower it then at 60 n see what happens.. seems to me the controller must be the prob tho.
-
ok, cheers for the replies. Anyone got any ideas how I can test it? I.e. should I be getting voltage on the blue/white wire? I'm assuming that's the 1 that opens and closes the relay for the spoiler?
-
Hi, Spoiler only works on the switch. A) no stereo in the car, so its not the blue/white wire B) I have metered out the wires, so pretty sure there are no broken 1's C) Fitted a new speed sensor on the gearbox D) Bought a 2nd hand spoiler controller from someone on the forum E) Fuses are all ok Anyone got any ideas? I think the controller is probably the weak link, but not sure if there any relays I should be checking Cheers

Hi, If I park my 'rado on the curb (passenger side up) and then drive very slowly with some lock on, I get a weird metallic sound emitting from the front passenger side. Can't really work out what's doing it, was thinking could be it be a CV joint? Someone said it was brake binding, but I've no idea what that is!!

My miltek pops a treat.... erm, pop-tastic!!

Have you seen the Corrado in Performance VW magazine????
Bobbywhacker replied to C. Will Corrado G60 2's topic in Exterior
absolutely sick.. sick sick sick.. no wonder he's called Bert. OK, so good roof, but the rest is just so so so tacky.. its like he bought it from an H Samuel's catalogue!!! Why has he fitted that wooden dash kit for??? And the colour of that exterior belongs on a scouse shell suit...... but I'd agree, he's definitely got balls!!! And I like the seats. -
Has any 1 fitted handles other can passat one's?? I cannae quite warm to em

Right, finally the exhaust is done!! .... The knocking was actually coming from the mount nearest the beam... the VW rubber hangers were allowing the exhaust to move laterally and it literally (tongue twister) was striking against its own mount.... why AMD didn't pick this up I do not know, cowboys.... but anyways the car is soooooo quiet now I couldn't believe it.. must've been causing some resonance or something.. all I get now is my lovely K&N roar at 4k and because that lives outside the car now, its not boomy either.. JUSTICE!!
-
Call me crazy, but I can't help feel the C's switches are some what 'plastic-y'.. has anyone ever replaced em? I dread to say it, but my 'stra van's switches do feel nicer on the fingers ( that sounds so very John Inman, I apologise)
-
Orange??? HMMMM.... OK, cheers for the response, might try n knock up some kinda paintshop thing 1st.

Got Polk components up front - just running from my Pioneer DEH P6000 and JBL 6x4 in the back. JBL's are running from an ickle Sony 50w RMS AMP.. had visions of it sounding shi&e.. but it actually works pretty well... I don't listen to much dance music these days, so I don't require the boom factor ....besides the Polk components were £240!! So too broke for any more kit lol

Hi all, I've had the dashboard in various pieces this week, whilst in the process of chucking it back together I had the idea of colour coding the main centre console bit ala fiat coupe.. My VR's Ice Grey Violet.... was thinkin of what peoples' opinions would be like before I started messing about Cheers

didn't relocate it, fixed it! bolted and countersunk the cog into place and used a self-tapping screw thru the bottom of the plastic into the underneath of the bottom arm.. still got a lovely super smooth action.... going away from the point, just finished my custom cold air relocation kit.. makes a beautiful tuned sound aswell! -

Hi all, My heater fan directional controls have been balls'ed up since the year dot I think. Today I bit the bullet and got the tool kit out. Managed to fix the snapped cog, and the bottom arm aswell.... but now it appears the bowden cable is super tight and I expect needs replacing.. only thing is I'm not sure which 1 it is!!! Its the cable on the bottom arm of the directional control cog.. is this the face/feet or screen one??? Cheers for now -
detailed my lights.. used fireplace hammerite paint.. for the heat soak you understand lol.... Be careful when masking the lights though, my 1st attempt took of the silver lacquer.. the bit I wanted to keep lacquered too! And having black detailing with shitty yellow plastic ain't too good!!
