mine gets about 28mpg on a good constant cruise, but I've seen much lower than that before without even hacking it... any good rolling roads in Surrey/Middlesex area? Needs a tune up i think

whats the difference in quality between the FKs and In.Pros? .. I heard something about the 'E' mark.. is that something to be really bothered about?!??!

I've been considering the larger TB n chip.... worth the cash? Just cannae afford a shrick at the mo!

lichfieldimports are doing race spec 1's.. oh yeah!! £14000 +vat buys you an even more striped out one than usual.. I believe even the passenger seat is an extra!! Was nearly considered over my VR and I'm still well tempted.. supposed to be a good few seconds up on the twisties over an impreza.. which is impressive!!

my 75k VR cost me a bargain £5250.... and yes nearly lost my licence several times and the petrol consumption is hideous!!

got the same problem.... but its definitely not the stereo.. I've even removed the blue/white from the control box and no difference.. does this sound like a knackered control box?

Just Installed new speakers in VR6.....Sounds pants!!!!

In the OEM stereo loom, all wires with a stripe are negative, all solid coloured wires are positive. The loom that bad? Seems to be running me new speakers really well and I used the oxygen free wire on the old car.. sounds same 2 me! -
polk also do a set although you'd be hard pressed to get a set. Jus got a set of polk ex components for the front, £239, but the sound is stunning.. and a completely perfect fit

right, all wires seem ok at the control box end.. have cut the blue/white entirely to make it isn't shorting across something and still no improvement... can't be the speed sensor coz the speedo would stop working right? Can I assume that i simply have a knackered control box??

I have this exact same problem.. well kinda!! Tried the blue wire thing etc but to no avail.. can someone please tell me where the spoiler control box thing lives.. and what it would look like. When I took out the stereo I noticed the wire had already been disconnected.

couldn't live without the K&N... i reckon I might be losing a wee bit of power, but give it a proper heatshield n i reckon she'll be sound again......... the C sounds like the VAG parts bin included some stuka's and messerschmitt 109's!

god u people are amazin ( don't get big heads now! ) I always imagined LSD's to cost a complete packet, but thats pretty reasonable considering the benefits.... you do realise tho u 2 have just completely balls-ed up my savings plan!

ok cheers for that....... just tryin 2 find a way 2 get more performance without being stung by the insurance, well to be insured in the 1st place. Direct Line's official statement is no more mods for me (that they will know about!)!

so.... probably a daft question, if I provided the parts, what dya reckon the average spanner monkey is gonna tax me 2 do all this? Like you said whilst the gearbox is off I might aswell have the other stuff done, the engine's got 78k on it so I suppose its coming upto a chain change right?

yeah thats the kiddie....... only prob is, near the passenger side back section there is a mount point..... some of the heat shield is still attached to that lol :shock: and some isn't! .... me dad's a metal king, might get him to batter some metal up there n weld it all up for me.. if that fails, can they be bought?
