  1. The cracks are all the way through to!! You should feel the movement in it. I was waggling it and thought it was the bearing then cleaned it off a bit to reveal the full extent of the damage.
  2. The displacer is virtualy cracked all the way around. All the red arrows point to cracked bits and there some of it left around the green arrow, but not much. Its a miracle it didnt grenade it must be within yards of going getting very messy. Anyone got a spare displacer??  ;-)
  3. I've been over at SamG60's house today because his lysholm arrived! Unfortunately it wont fit yet need some more fabrication doing. Anyway, his G-lader started making a strange noise last week. I couldn't hear it until I put a screw driver on it. But luckily he noticed it and took the car off the road. Lucky he had already decided he was getting a lysholm a few months back. So after failing to fit the lysholm we took the g-lader apart to find out what was wrong with it. It wasn’t as hard as we thought; only those woodruff keys on the central shaft were a pain in the arse. Link to instructions we found when stuck on woodruff keys; http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=668200&page=1 Check out the pics below for the damage found
  4. Well thats the main thing really! I'm sure it will impress at Santa Pod!!
  5. Sorry but sacrilege really, should of stopped and enjoyed your engine! The body kit has ruined it for me. The corrado is a sleek designed car and the regier angled kit simply doesn’t work. The sirocco kit kinda emphasises the existing styling so kinda works. This just contradicts the smooth design of the corrado. The corrado hasn’t dated as bad as other cars because its styled in a modern way, where as the reiger kit is very very 80's.
  6. Just found your engine spec else where, awsome power. I'd put it up to back up your crazy styling! (Cant wait to see what PhatVR6 makes of this  )
  7. Think I prefer it in Blue like your Avatar. The front end is way to busy for my taste. If it was mine, I'd remove the rear spoiler, get new bonnet, grill and front bumper. Those image splits are wicked though! EDIT: Check out those f'ing brakes, wow!!
  8. I thought about it and then thought that it wouldnt look right on my car. Have you seen this mk3? Looking at this has persuaded me it'll work with blue.
  9. Rear bushes is a bit of a big job. You could always try fobing them off. Tell them about the passive rear stearing and there's supposed to be play. Front brake lines, I assume they mean the rubber ones. Good oportunity to go for Goodridge hoses. Just had Graham Miller in Penmon help me do mine. You take your car there sometimes dont you?
  10. Thought your car was black in the first picture sorry. Reckon you should colour code to your car. I've tried to get close to the colour of your car in this one.
  11. I think they look wicked in black. Only did the lighter one so the wheel spokes showed up better. OZ splits arnt they? Very nice what ever they are.
  12. Here's two, one darker than the other. Did you want just the spokes done or the complete centre section like I've done?
  13. Here's quick one I've just done. Sorry about colour's but there the only pics I have on my machine. Post some suitable pics and I'll do it properly. I've messed up the camber on front wheels too. lol
  14. Don’t think you'll have much luck with one from another car. Unless your very lucky with an exact colour match. Consult a body shop professional for advice on what’s best to do. They may want to spray a bit of the door or bonnet to blend the colour. I had the front of a wing done recently and they didn’t need to spray any of the bonnet. Although they warned that they may need to.
  15. Where are some pictures of your car. I'll try photoshop some rims for you.
  16. You can change the rear rubber brake lines without removing the axle or exhaust. Well you could on mine, not sure on Corrado but probably. You gotta hope the metal ones dont break when removing the rubber ones though!!
  17. But somebodys got to do it, eh phatG60?
  18. Beal where did you take it ?
  19. Those look very smart Darren, wish I wasnt skint need gearbox work before I cant get one of those. Will we be able to get these off you for the forseable future at the same price?
  20. Car: Golf G60 Exhaust: Supersprint Cat Bypass, Full twin box system, Oval tail pipe. EDIT Added price paid as suggested by coolrado Supersprint Cat Replacment £80.51 Supersprint Centre Exhaust and Front pipe £123.75 Supersprint Backbox 120x80 oval £176.93 Total including P&P £394.19 Opinion: Fitting: I fitted it myself and found it to fit almost like OE. Needed to turn one of the middle hangers on the car around for perfect fit, it also came with a replacement rear hanger in chrome which was a nice touch. Look: I really like the size of the tail pipe, its kinda smaller than others so in my opinion looks more OE. Also the distance from the end of the back box to the tail pipe is quite far so you cant see any of the back box from the rear of the car. Sound: Its no where near as loud as a Janspeed I had on my Rocco. Its pritty subtle at low revs but give a good noise in high rev's. Juts how you want it! Gets a bit louder with age, think most exhausts do. Would go for the twin silenced like I have if you dont want loud. Performance: I know that supersprint test each application of there exhausts on a Dyno and road test while developing them. This could be just good PR but I don’t think some of the cheaper manufactures do this. Price: They are more expensive than other systems. Especially when you consider that there not completely Stainless Steel. I'd like to try a Miltek system to see what there like as there a little cheaper. But if I had the extra money I would buy Supersprint again.
  21. The grey injectors where on the car from factory. They came on most Rallyes and some of the Golf G60's. There a higher flow than the Greens that come on a Corrado. There not really about power gain but rather a part of tuning as a package. Some Corrado owner upgrade there injectors from green to red tops (similar flow rate to greys) to reduce the risk of running lean. I think you only really need to do this if you are going to run a 65mm pulley or your charger produces more than 15psi. Similarly G40's upgrade there injectors to green's found on the Corrado. I've had real trouble trying to explain that. phheew (must be getting late) Hope it makes sense and is correct.
  22. That'll be these boy then http://www.proalloy.co.uk/
  23. Yeah, that sounds reasonable to me. Is the intercooler made by forge? Any markings or numbers on it anywhere?
