Sounds very ambitious Ben, good on you! The TVR interior sounds a bargain. What did you make the custom bits out of? -

You nutter! Cant wait to see this car once its finished, loads of show and loads of go!! Good combination! :D :D Haven’t read the whole thread, but did the TVR dash cost you a lot of money? How far off are its dimensions? (apologies if this has already been covered) -
Hello there! There's loads on info on here to help you choose the right Corrado. If you need info on something try the search out as well. (Cant beat a nice bit of red leicester in a sandwich with red onion, mao and a tiny bit of salad cream)

Think to get 250bhp on a G60 you need all the usual stuff and a big valve head or bottom end work. Steve Mac's new spec should do it or be very close.

corradowales, I'm pritty sure that a Golf 8v would fit if you butchered the centre pipe to make it shorter. As long as the attachment on the bottom of your manifold is the same. You can check this in ETKA. Not 100% on this but worth enquiring about. The reason I say this is that when my Supersprint system arrived it had two centre pipes (pipe from cat the middle silencer). The long one was to fit my car and short one was for Corrado or other may around cant remember.

My new engine - (progress pics)......update 16/05/05

I know someone who was trying to get jiggy in the back of a beetle. The metal springs made contact with the battery and then the horse hair in the seat caught fire! He jumped out of the car and threw the seat off a cliff in a panic!  -
Welcome to the forum! Congratulations on seeing the light and leaving your V word history behind you! :-)

Is it visibly damaged? cracks, bad scuffs, etc. If not then you don’t need to replace it unless you really want a brand new one. The oil will clean off, may need some degreaser to clean it like Gunk or even a little WD40 then soap and water. Then treat it with something to make it black again. If you use a sponge like I said above you can treat everything black on the car, even window seals, handles, etc. Just be careful to avoid getting any on the paint as it takes many washes to get the greasy residue off again.

I'd recommend a Supersprint, but I would say that because that’s what I have. Can’t really comment on a Miltek as I haven’t got one. If you decide on a Supersprint this place is the cheapest http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk

Sweeeet! You could do with blacking up your front splitter though. I use cheap tyre silk from wilkos to treat the black trim on my car. Spray it onto a sponge then apply so you don’t get any on your paint work. Also this stuff wears off a little bit at first and doesn’t make it too shiny like some other products do. Also, I don’t recommend any of that "back to black" stuff because when it wears off it leaves your trim looking very very grey!!!

I bought a set for my Golf G60 off the shelf, 6 line set too. Think I got them from C&R but cant really remember. I think Andy (20vturbo) recommended a place to me.

Supersprint discontinuing Corrado exhausts...
CaiosG60 PWR replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
I have that problem too!! :( I think its a shame there discontinuing the range. I've found it to be a quality product. There pritty subtle and quite OE looking. Mine fitted very nicely as well. There are some spots of rust on the middle box starting to appear but I've had it for about two years now. -

No way, that means Golf G60 too then. As you get the same kit as a Corrado G60 but with two different lengh center pipes for either Corrado or Golf. -
Agree with that! I like them but think there only suitable for trailer queen show cars. I just cant imagine how much of a cock you'd look opening the doors outside your local Spar while you pop in for 10 Regal!!! The embarisment would be unbearable, specialy when sombody asks you how much you spent to look such a chav!

Its got no snorkel fitted, so it probably took some water in the intake while on its way into the puddle. There is supposed to be a way of starting slowly and building a wave in front on the vehicle and thus keeping water out of the engine bay. Steady build up of speed or something. :-P

How do you know if you have one fitted with the electronic diff thing?

Two of my mates have Jabba big valve heads, one on a G40 and one on a G60. Judging from how much they scare me your car must go like a f'ing rocket mate!!! ;-) :-) I could do with one to keep up with them!! -
I dont like any of the Lexus style cristal rear lights for Corrado's, they all belong on Chav Saxo's. Standard ones that have been sprayed professionally look the best in my opinion!

Why remove it without finding out what’s wrong with it first? Its probably just a wheel speed sensor. I'm proud of having ABS on my Golf G60, excuse me if I'm wrong but aren’t the Golf G60's the only mk2 to have ABS fitted to them. Its also one of the main benefits having an original LHD G60 over a conversion job. Its sacrilege to remove it, the system is also supposed to work as an electronic differential to reduce wheel spin according to VW sales documents. Anyway if you do remove it good luck and I'll have a ABS sensor off you to replace the one that’s dodgy on my ABS. :-) :-)

Must admit I like the stretched look a lot. As long as the cars really low it looks great. Just don’t think its a good idea to stretch them to much if you drive hard. Also I think only certain tyres with good rim protectors are suitable. Think these include Toyo proxy’s, Goodyear Eagle F1 and P9000's.

Nice one Steve! Did you get your big valve head new from Jabba? If you dont mind saying, how much was it? -
Sounds like it could be low on gearbox oil. Try changing the oil for some Redline MT-90 before replacing the box. ;-)

Think you want to be able to do over 100mph in fourth. Otherwise you'd be in the middle of a gearchange at the end of a 1/4 mile. Suppose It depends on taste though really. My old 8v rocco was revy as hell, gearing topped out around 125mph, which I guess is a little lower than you'd get with the 4.26 final drive and 0.76 fifth. I didnt mind that but on the G60 I'd be worried about the charger being at high RPM for long periods of time. Never mind the petrol consumption!!
