  2. And Lars´ excellent shots: https://picasaweb.google.com/wernichwillderhatschon2/Beaulieu?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCNqomPna78eQFw&feat=directlink Tempest
  3. B*ll*x to that, get a spare Lader :) There are still some around, but you will need to look globally, since in the UK the G60 has never been sold in the same numbers as elsewhere (Germany for example). And if there is actually enough demand from enthusiasts contacting the right people within Classic Parts, then they, too, may consider restarting production :) Tempest
  4. Glen's excellent piccies: http://s47.photobucket.com/albums/f166/gplace/Beaulieu%202011/?albumview=slideshow Tempest
  5. Time for some of my pics, which don´t quite describe what an especially jovial little group of folk were up to staying the night berfore in Lymington  Tempest
  6. Erm, totally wrong, I´m afraid . It was purely and 100% Karmann who designed and built this Ghia. VW were just used for their dealership network, which Karmann as coachbuilders did not have. They still wanted to fulfill their dream of building their own car, which they did with the Ghia. Sorry to be a smart-a**e  Corrado, stems from the Spanish word Correr, to run. The wind theme was applicable to the Scirocco (warm Sahara desert wind) and the Passat. Allegedly the name Corrado was given by the then VW boss´ wife, much even to Karmann´s surprise, who had initially called the car the Mk3 Scirocco (pictures of prototypes still sporting the Scirocco badge exist on the web), followed by the name Taifun (EA 494, EA standing for Entwicklungsauftrag = German for development order). Back to topic :) Erm sports car or not, personally I couldn´t care less, I just love the shape, the way it handles and rides :) That´s sporty enough for me. Tempest
  7. Typical isn´t it: Bunch of older cars trying to meet up, and things going slightly wrong already  Next one up: Dutch mate of mine from the Sciroccoforum NL arrived successfully, but has broken his alternator bolt (long one that attaches alternator to engine bracket) and belt on his Mk2 Rocco with power steering. If anyone happens to have these parts, pleasebring them down to Beaulieu tomorrow :) Part numbers: Belt needed: 054903137 9.5x865 mm belt Bolt needed: N 0447591 allen key bolt M8x95 Tempest
  8. Bunch of us already ramping up the proceedings Saturday evening (staying in local B&Bs) :) Tempest
  9. Yes, very much so, located in the Classic Car Show halls (free entry to ticket holders of the MPH / TopGear show). Tempest
  10. Good puclicity for the club :) Got to get Lars a copy for next weekend, also Dirk, as one of the shots (Ibbenbüren meet 2006, Doug and Kathy from the US also attending, year we loct 2cc at the Ring !!) features his ex-Audi 80 Coupe (now onwed by a fellow Scirococoforum member, Günni). Tempest
  11. Alas no, Mk1 still at bodyshop (yes the wait is getting very painful now, especially as I have seen some very nice Mk1s at the German meet last weekend, making me proclaim several times that I want my Mk1 back! :)) But patience is of the essence when excellent work is to be done. Tempest
  12. Yup, organised by Glen from the SciroccoRegister, meet starts at the Beaulieu Moto Museum at 10am on Sunday 18/9/2011. Infos here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?57304-Combined-meet-with-SciroccoRegister-at-Beaulieu-Museum-18-9-2011 Given that there are quite a few of my mates from the German forum arriving, all hell has already broken loose at my end with preparations (phone calls, special requests, who´s arriving how and when, who needs collecting) :) Looking forward to this :) Tempest
  13. Oh no! Wish you well not just with the sale but more importantly with whatever made you having to do this. Tempest
  14. Update: Camping on the Beaulieu museum site now definitely cancelled due to lack of interest :( Thus this event is now a daymeet on Sunday, 18/9/2011 from ca. 10:00 onwards till closing time of the museum. At least 6 people from the German forum will be attending so far (maybe even 9), and 4-5 from the Dutch forum. Let´s give them a warm welcome :) Tempest
  15. Woohoo, finally back home :) Have fun fitting everything back together again! Tempest
  16. Combined CCGB/SciroccoRegister meet at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, New Forest http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/beaulieu/index Entry cost on the Sunday: £11.50, parking in the hardstanding area called the Arena, right next to the museum, perfect overview when on-board the raised monorail of our cars in the arena - ideal for photoshoots! Saturday, 18/9/2011, start time around 10:00 Tempest
  17. Club stand confirmed as of email tonight, passes apparently still on the way, so no chance in getting those to you prior to the actual event. I have therefore warned the organisers to expect a bunch of C-dribvers asking for the CCGB stand but not sporting any clubstand passes  Temppest ---------- Post added 2nd August 2011 at 12:24 AM ---------- Previous post was 1st August 2011 at 11:42 PM ---------- Need postal address details for the following people asap (PM) so the organisers can send out club passes straight to you :) : 1. Robert Steel (moved? new address?) 2. Ian Owen Hope the addresses of all the others are still correct (using details that the CCGB have on record) :) Tempest
  18. Has anyone got their telephone number, so I can chase them? Hope they haven't ignored my early request back in October for a stand. Causing me a little grief each year, as I have to chase them each year . Tempest
  19. Indeed, pay on arrival, ask for the CCGB stand, since the organisers do not leave me with enough time to actually get the clubstand pass to you on time (for starters: I haven´t even received the passes myself yet!). Tempest
  20. Hey, that's good news :) Bet you definitely can't sleep any more now. Tempest
