  1. Anyone going tomorrow? http://reallyretroshow.eventpages.org/ I should be there with my Mk1 Rocco  Tempest
  2. Don't forget that BMW pulled the plug from their 3-year warranty (in Germany, ADAC mag Feb 2015), which begs the question "Do they not trust their own tech any more?". Don't go for the M4 with flappy paddle / autobox, colleague at work has a very long story to tell about that, ending up going through 7 M4s from his dealer (name available on request off-forum) in less than 11 months! I don't call that bad luck any more ... Tempest
  3. It's a done deal now apparently: Toll roads (Autobahn and A-style roads) will now all attract toll for foreigners only (let's see how that passes the EU), starting sometime in 2016 (no exact date given yet), boo! Hiss! We'll now have to charge Germans coming over here to Blighty methinks :) http://www.spiegel.de/politik/deutschland/pkw-maut-bundesrat-gibt-gruenes-licht-a-1032822.html Tempest
  4. Some more details for non-BF might help bump up numbers ;) Interested, but FB page not available to me. Tempest
  5. Nah, that honour went to Chris Lee with his stunning Storm! Tempest
  6. Thanks all for sticking your cars on the CCGB stand and in concours despite the atrocious weather at the start of the day (concours gang cleaning cars in pouring rain ). First batch of pics from Stanford Hall today, Stanford Hall turned out later on in the day to offer the usual ingredients: Sunshine and heat. Some pics of the stands: Tempest
  7. Have a look on the events calendar _HERE_ Then there'll be a few going into concours, too :) Tempest
  8. Indeed, and still a member as I type this. Wasn't aware that the ADAC don't take new members from outside of Germany any more, though. Tempest
  9. Museum tickets (stickers actually) will be available from the committee members in the room inside the conference section of the museum (rear part of the building, as per purple line on Jim's map) where the AGM will take place. We at this point of time do not know the exact room, will only find out on the day itself ourselves, so when you do arrive, have a look on the screen immediately in the conference entry area, or walk a bit further down to the reception area (to your left), and check there (there's another screen there , too). Can anybody tell I'm overfamiliar with the place? Tempest
  10. That's all the info I received from the organisers of Stonor Park, as per our CCGB website. Do download the form and read that (I couldn't find any further info alas). Remember: You can turn up on the day for Stonor, but then may have to pay more than the 5 quid discounted advance price. The stand at Stonor is also not an "official" club stand as such, because an "official" clubstand would set the club back in the region of 25 quid for only 4 cars. The days that we could simply get a club stand for free at Stonor seem to have gone, and things have changed somewhat, so I've had to resort to using "Backdoor" entries if you like, which come with a few caveats (such as prepayment), and yes, there are still people out there who will insist on cheques! Can't do anything about that. What I would suggest then, is that you guys pay for each other (one pays another member by Paypal ... you get the idea). I simply haven't got the time any more to look after that aspect of club stands any more apart from the fact that I've made a few bad experiences with such up-front payment sessions, so rather leave it to others to sort. 11. Rectified the date issue on the CCGB events list (as of Monday night, when I noticed it :)). Please do follow the instructions on the site to download, complete and return the form to the organiser with payment to secure a place on the stand, and get the heavily discounted entry price. Tempest
  12. Same here apparently, http://www.vwaction.com/gtispring/results15.html, but I decided to leave prior to the award ceremonies, so my trophy probably landed in the bin (for the next event) Tempest
  13. Forecast was for sunnier weather at the Pod than in Coventry, so I escaped the former in search of excitement with my Mk1 Rocco at the latter location. Lo and behold, initially I was the only Rocco, then 2 more turn up, one even parkling right next to me 8-) Tried to talk the owner out of exchanging his Mk2 Rocco against an old Beetle Then I spotted a fourth Rocco in the car park. Trends this year? Full beard of the ginger type, airride (still), Mercedes alloys (Bentley alloys still allowed, mainly on big new Audis, probably purchased on finance), "Like Hell" stickers ("Rotiform" and "Detailed" stickers are so yesterday now ). A thoroughly enjoyable day catching up with Neil and Chris from Autometrix, too. Pics: Tempest
  14. Should do to better blend in  Tempest
  15. Requested 7-8, but only have 2 according to the official list, but I know that 2-3 may turn up "out of the blue", judging by the messages on this forum in this thread. Tempest
  16. Tatton Park just added to the CCGB Events Calendar :) Allow till tomorrow to activate on-line registration. Tempest
  17. No, we do have a clubstand, which still has 8 places left :-), but I had to put a closure date on it for organisational purposes. Ask for the Corrado Club stand on arrival. Tempest
  18. Nice looking garage, too, where that white C is parked up :) Tempest
  19. Didn't take that many pics, and of relatively poor quality as I just discovered on transferring the pics to my PC (reset of phone default resolution etc.), but anyway, here they are: Tempest
  20. STANFORD HALL::2 more spaces available!! With 2 folks having dropped out, I now have 2 more spaces (and window hangers) available, so sign up on the Events List / Calendar on the CCGB website if you fancy putting your C on the stand we have at Stanford Hall this year. Tempest
  21. Welcome from another US-G60, also from the Netherlands, but lived in the UK for, erm, 24 years now. Good luck and have fun with all the work you have planned for your G60, very similar to what I did in the first few years of ownership (had mine for 11.5 years now). Tempest
  22. Had seen that vid some time ago at my local Range branch, too, but never got round to posting it here. Who's Rado is that? Tempest
