You can get at the thermostat without too much effort. Jack car up at front (and even if it's just the right hand side). Get underneath, remove bracket covering the waterpump. You can now see the plastic flange held to the bottom end of the waterpump with 2 hex-bolts. Undo these, and be prepared to catch the coolant coming out of the rad! Once the coolant is out you'll see the thermostat still stuck in the waterpump 9if it hasn't already fallen out in the previous step). Wiggle the thermostat out and be prepared to see more coolant (this time from the block) coming your way. Fit new thermostat (after testing), and refill the coolant. Tempest

Fancy seeing a bit of Vulcan XM655 action on the Wellesbourne strip? Gauging interest here before I arrange a club stand to decorate the airfield with some Corrados (also extended invite to the Rocco gang) Entry is a measely fiver (and if booked and paid for before 31/5/2015 that even includes the co-driver), and gets us some Vulcan taxi runs, other classic cars, military vehicles, static aircraft, ground displays and some local catering (not free, of course). Gates open 10:00. Some more info here: http://www.xm655.com So, post up if you'd be interested in attending this one. Tempest

When: Sunday, 19/7/2015 Time: Corrados need to be in by 9:00 (open to public by 10:00), stay till 17:00 Where: RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire Map: https://goo.gl/maps/mWFbs Website: http://www.airtattoo.com/airshow/visiting/visitorinformation Entry Cost: 1-Day exhibition pass: Show car/driver pass: £36.00 Passenger pass: £36.00 This is a discounted price! Check the website for normal entry prices. Some more info, as quoted from the application form: Due to the complexities of booking it is best if each of you wishing to attend completes the booking form and pays for the required number of passes using the attached form, to be returned to the address indicated on the form by 17 June 2015. There is no possibility for camping on-site, because it is a live airfield, and indeed there is live flying, which is the whole point of the show  . I will look into camping possibilities nearer to the time and post up here. Tempest

That barsteward Dobrindt from that suspiciously "rightish" ex-Strauß (who's had scandals as far back as the 60s with not disclosing certain armaments issues) party CSU, a sister party of the CDU (Christian ... where the f* is the Christian aspect in this party, bunch of rednecks led by an ex-DDR woman from a preacher dad who left the west to emigrate to the East - how does all that fit together anyway?) has had major headwinds in his stupid and discriminatory plans to introduce a foreigner toll on Gemran motorways, which German have to pay, too, but would get a refund. What's more analysts have already worked out that the whole scheme could end up costing Germany more than it is to bring into its coffers, mainly because the proportion of Germans not making use of the motorways thus claiming back road tax might be higher than expected. Anyway, rant over, I hate politics, sack them all, cost us far too much anyway, and totally useless. Looks like the initial introduction date for this farce was going to be 1/1/2016, but that may very well be delayed by the Bundesrat (organisation representing the individual states within Germany), plus the EU still needs to decide on the legality (what are those Brussel bureaucrats waiting for?). Just read on Rennlist, a Porsche forum in the US, a post by a London 928 chap who like me know the 928 guru in the UK, Paul Anderson: "Spoke to guru Paul Anderson who apparently knows the car well and claims the registration plates are original and the possibility they could offend was entirely unexpected. He says the car was in excellent condition and didn't deserve its untimely demise. " There you go ... Tempest

Wow, that's a real stroke of luck, low mileage, leather interior, alpinewhite (best colour, wouldn't know why I said that ), and only 250 squid :thumbleft: Tempest

Nice one, used to have a Mk2 Storm, still have a Mk1 Roc. Good luck with further work till UD :) Tempest

Indeed the 928 was trashed at the front left suspension where a big loom runs to the ecu. A 928 is not an off-road vehicle, but, hey, for amusement factor TG will do anying ... Tempest

Get a 928 :) Tempest
