After a long and furstrating day at DG I got a chuftie from the Indian tack away :D

 

As we was picking up our order the guy said to me you drive that fast car? VW is it? and he said its very nice. 8)

 

Made the whole day worth while :D

Had a couple of chufties in the last week. Went to the garage to pick the VR up (its only been in for 1 month) and the mechanic said he's had all the "VAG heads" sniffing round it giving lots of nice comments. The other was from a 10 year old lad while I was washing my car said to his mates "Thats a nice car mate" I thought you got class. :D

Not really a chuftie but I was driving through town t'other day and this kiddy on a bmx (couldn't have been more than 10-12yrs old) was riding past me and asked if it was a VR6!!

Went to view an Audi A6 at a local dealership (Autovogue in Stafford) which specialises in rather high end motors. Parked up the C and the mechanic promptly came out and started walking round giving it a proper good looking over. I walked back over and said "do you want it shifting mate?" but i knew he was admiring it. "Are you chopping this in?" he asked. "Not a chance mate, this baby is going nowhere". He seemed a little dissapointed but went on to tell me how he had a mk2 gti and loved rado's.

 

It seemed a little bizarre that the forecourt was full of 10k to 40k motors and were stood talking about my £800 rado.

 

Thats why Corrado's are so special imo.

iv just finished uni and am working in a petrol station to tide things over, anyways my cars always parked under my window so i can make sure that nobody is gonna steal it, all the car lovers comment on it big ego boost, the other night a guy asked me to join his car club (drivingsports.co.uk) gotta love the corrado everyone seems to love them!

Was in getting tyres/allignment done the other day, guy in a mint Porsche Carrera 4s, t reg came in. Couldn't say enough about the Corrado, wants one as a daily, has always wanted one etc. Commented on how good they look even in modern company etc etc. Hardly mentioned the Porsche! Had the usual VR/G60 discussion and he reckons he's going to get one (a VR of course)! ;-)

Coming out of work into the car park, see a couple youths who work in different departments stood around it. I have the fear, then when he sees me unlock it, exclaims "Definitely the coolest car in the car park by miles, mate"

The MOT man today (straight through again btw). He says, lovely car, you've really done some work to that haven't you, best one we've seen etc To be fair I have just completed the front end suspension/brake rebuild 100 miles ago. Always cheers one up :-)

A guy with an S3 came up to Vornwend and I at the petrol station before todays Pootle and Pies- seemed very impressed with both cars and said he was thinking of replacing his S3 with one :)

Went for something to eat today and saw one of the waiters looking outside into the car park. He soon came up and asked if that was my Corrado VR6 in the car park, we had a chat and said he'd was going to get one, as he'd always loved them (and VWs in general) but got offered an S3 for cheap so snapped it up.

 

Was complementing mine :-D I urged him to get one if he could :lol:

Just remembered this that happened at the weekend. My neighbour was getting his car valeted by one of these mobile valeters, i came out the house to do some work on rado, no sooner than i had opened the door he and his mate were over chatting about the rado....thought it was funny how they just stopped cleaning my neighbours and were chatting for about 15 mins, opened up the bonnet for them and they were like....wow now we're talking.

 

Love the fact it still gets recognition even though its been off the road for 2 years...ha ha.

Went to get the mot / nct done last weekend. Needless to say I had the car pre - booked in for the week after to fix all the issues that were sure to come to light during the test........

 

Car passed first time :cheers:

 

The gentleman doing the test then beckoned me over:

 

''how much do you want for it?''

''eh, not really selling it....yet''

''bloody hell, she's stunning, here's my number, what would you take for it honestly''

 

I gave him a figure that I'd be happy to take and he seemed fine. :help:

 

Side note: my first VR, green '94, also flew through the test first time and also was enquired was it for sale :shrug:

Not really a chuftie, but got talking to an american chap in sainsburys car park the other day. Firstly got asked if had chopped the springs! Its running on coils but not overly low. He then proceeded to ask what it was like driving with less suspension than a cardboard box! The nerve of some people.

Had a lovely half term day today capped by a chuftie on my way back from the Malvern Hills.

 

Followed an Audi coupe with German style plates who took the opportunity to boot it whenever any small gap in traffic opened up. Wondered if he was trying to see if I'd keep up; I didn't see the point in burning the fuel or wrecking the speed limit in heavy traffic so watched him go each time with a smile.

 

He really went for it in the 40 limit between Powick and the Powick roundabout on the A4440. I let him go but pulled up alongside as we waited to get on to the roundabout. Sure enough, he turned over his shoulder for a good look. I gave him a friendly VAG group nod and got a definite nod of "Nice!" in return.

 

Made a lovely day complete! :clap:
