Took pity on the old girl and cleared the garage so she can be tucked up at night (only taken 5 years!)

Changed oil & oil filter today aswell as the power steering fluid....

Had a brown trouser time when, while checking the steering fluid level with the engine running i noticed the car was knocking like mad, a quick look at the oil pressure gauge showed me there was NO oil pressure  quickly switched the engine off, checked oil level and was fine, tried again with still no oil press, gave a quick blip of the throttle and thankfully oil pressure came up to normal

Now given up doing anything else due to pure fear of something breaking

It's difficult to pre-fill the oil filter on a G60 without spilling any, even with the headlight out. I usually start and stop the engine straight away to prevent an airlock in the filter, the other thing you can do is crank it on the starter with the ecu relay or fuel rail unplugged to build up pressure mechanically.

Took the saggy headlining out, stuck the bugger back down and refitted. 3 hours all in all. Sunroof seal was a b1tch. Managed to bleed all over it :-( No sagging now though. Where's the vanish!

Today I managed to glide my car into a garage after the cambelt that was fitted less than one month ago broke causing untold damage to my engine. GGGrrrrrrrrrrr! :bad-words:

Other annoying thing is, I had also paid the garage to;

Fit an O/S outer driveshaft gaiter...... not done.

Fit new rear number plate (Supplied)....... not done

Fit new wiper blades....... not done

Fit new brake pads / discs, was done but have had to re-bleed system and the discs are not secured to the hub any more

Sort cold start idle irregularity...... not done.

Engine oil is about 1/8" over the full mark on the dipstick

Sticking clutch pedal was also reported and allegedly fixed...... did it myself last week

What really annoys me is I supplied 90% of the parts (genuine VAG) and paid this pratt £885 for the work (allegedly he fitted a new clutch too?) so it cost me in total £1245 and the car is now lying useless in a 'proper' garage.

Good job one of my best friends is a solicitor. Only reason I didnt do the work myself is that I am curently working over 75 hours per week and just dont have the time. Isn't hinsight a wonderful thing. Dont think he'll be trading as a garage much longer when the law has finished with him. :censored:

Thats shocking! Another reason to go to a 'tried and tested' garage. What garage was this then?

Much to my annoyance, I cannot disclose the name of the Garage as my solicitor will shortly be taking action for obtaining monies by deception. (has taken the money but not done the work) charge may be reduced, what a suprise! The victim gets a royal shafting once again!! I have also been advised to have my car inspected by a specialist. Have since found out this guy isn't even a qualified mechanic :censored:

Car is now at a very reputable Bridgnorth Skoda dealership, who are most competent in vehicle repair and they run their own very successful rally team, building their own engines. Weird but Im not worried about a recurrence. S'pose its right what you say, the reputation of the garage really does give you peace of mind! Just so angry I have had to learn the hard way. PLEASE CORRADO OWNERS, DONT ENTRUST YOUR PRIDE AND JOY TO ANYONE WITHOUT A GREAT REPUTATION FOR QUALITY OF SERVICE..

Do you mind me asking if your door/window rubber seals were expensive? Im not deperate for new ones but would be nice to replace them.

£33 +vat a side from GPC. When I had my respray I thought they would clean up ok, but by the time they were back on they were badly mis-shapened.

Nice one thanks. So is that just the rubber that sits on the door that the window slides up and down against?
