lee_golf_v5 0 Posted February 4, 2008 What would be the best system for my VR6, i think the centre section needs replacing on mine, and just thought it might be more cost effective for a new system. I do not want it to be loud though when i am cruising around, I have an induction kit at the moment and thats fine because at low revs its silent, and under load it has a lovely roar. Because of my work this is how i want any exhaust to be, but obviously help the car breathe a little easier... I know miltek were popular with MKIV guys, just not sure with the Rado? steve @ 0 Posted February 4, 2008 I'd go for a jetex system, 2.5" bore, well built and pretty quiet. Its on my list.

Then you would have to get it fitted obviously.
steve @ 0 Posted February 4, 2008 If you go onto the edition38 forum, into the strictly dubs section and send them a pm they will do the jetex system for ~£300 delivered.
.Rich. 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Anyone know the cheapest place to source a vr6 backbox? Dont want top of the range, just a bargain.
Ginger60 0 Posted February 6, 2008 Any system you want will do the job, even hand made ones can be a nice custom touch, just remember these VWs we love need heat exchanger designed systems...
lee_golf_v5 0 Posted February 10, 2008 If i was going to buy a full system, and get it fitted by my VW specialist, would this be everything required?? http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/ ... id=3678021 If I went for a Milltek that is...... At £350 ish for an entire exhaust I think its reasonable, out of interest to buy a standard exhaust system how much would a replacement be........ Goldie 2 Posted February 10, 2008 Im looking at getting an exhaust for mine and have always fancied a supersprint, do the guys who have these recommend them, ive heard a few bad stories?? Or should i play it safe with a MAgnex??
Jim 2 Posted February 10, 2008 I think general feedback on the supersprint systems is good! If there was enough serious demand I could start looking at arranging a group buy again for Supersprint systems through Stealth like I tried to do a year or two ago. I think we needed to order 20 'pieces' of exhaust system before Supersprint UK would give us a fairly decent discount - and with either 3 or 4 pieces per full system, you only need 6 or 7 people onboard for it to happen.... Goldie 2 Posted February 10, 2008 Well if you could drum up some interest id be keen for a rear and centre section..
lee_golf_v5 0 Posted February 10, 2008 Got a link to this supersprint system? Is it loud, thing is with me is that I only really want it to be loud when pushed, when I am crawling around town I like it to be fairly quiet, because of my job need to remain fairly conspicuous....... But if it was what I was after I would probably be looking for a full system.... Lee
Goldie 2 Posted February 10, 2008 Ive heard a supersprint on both a 16v and a VR and they are not loud, on idle and normal driving they just purr, on full throttle its a lovely noise, nothing unpleasent, ive been after an exhaust for 2 years and have listened to all sorts of systems and for me it will end up being the supersprint or the magnex. Both sound good, look good, the only cosmetic difference i can see between the two is the supersprint comes out the back of the car at the same angle as the original and the magnex comes out straight.. I dont think youd be disappointed with the system , have a look on google for some info, for the mid section and rear section its around about 350 quid excluding any potential group buy discount... StormchargedVR6 0 Posted February 10, 2008 You could always go custom, mines 2.5 inch and look stock at rear. Done JKM in portsmouth and perfect fit. New Tailpipe.JPG[/attachment:b97q72i7]
Goldie 2 Posted February 13, 2008 Anyone got a suggested supplier for a magnex cat back system , best price and the same for the supersprint equivalent please?
redwoodkp 0 Posted February 24, 2008 I got me a full supersprint last year best thing I've put on the car! Looks awesome and sounds great! Think I paid around £280 delivered for front pipe, centre pipe and oval back box!
CazzaVR 0 Posted February 24, 2008 Anyone know the cheapest place to source a vr6 backbox? Dont want top of the range, just a bargain. Longlife exhausts in Berkeley will build you one, fully fitted for £160. It's a bit more if you choose a more extravegant tailpipe. They replaced the front silencer on my VR for a straight through pipe- was very impressed with them. I'll defo go there for exhausts in the future. Not far from you, either ;)
Neil VR6 0 Posted February 25, 2008 The previous owner of my VR had a Powerflow fitted and later a Milltek decat. It's really boomy though and is blowing already. It also bangs on the rear beam occasionally and the back box is showing early signs of tin worm. Hopefully putting the cat back on will quieten it down a bit. Guest Posted March 6, 2008 My G60 has the Jetex 2.5 inch system on with cat bypass, sounds really nice, and fits perfectly without banging (now i have put the correct VW hangers on it! PO`s are a pain in tha ar5e) its quiet on normnal tickover and placid driving but sounds very purposefull when you open it up, this is the second Jetex system i have had and highly recommend the quality and sound of them If you call Jetex UK direct they do a good deal on any system and usually do free delivery

Critical_Mass 10 Posted April 3, 2008 Had a Supersprint on my G60 and loved it. Cant remember where i ordered it from. Where can i order a supersprint system from for my 93 VR? EDIT - ignore that, read through some of the thread and saw one of my old posts. Stealth is where i got it.
Gypsydal 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Just got a Longlife exhaust fitted in Cardiff. Whole caboodle, mild tone with oval pipe, cat removed...basic kit...£359 Sounds lovely. Very similar to her original sound so I'm very happy. Nice low end burble, but when I floor it....Wwhhhoooaaarrrrggghhhhhh!! Perfect! Now she sounds like a classy Rado again. Interesting experience driving their courtesy Fiat Panda for a day too :norty: Nifty little thing but the most uncomfortable seats I've ever experienced! Don't think I'll be getting one of them as my daily drive :salute:

Get with the program.... I recommended SuperSprint to the "silent types" nearly 5 years ago. There are quieter and cheaper exhausts out there now though tbh. belfastfumanchu 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Im after a new exhaust for my 1.8 16v From what I have briefly read here Supersprint and Magnex seem to be reasonable good and not overly loud, but loud enough. Would someone write down a quick list here of exhausts from noisest to least noisy ?
