G60SC_Stoney 0 Posted June 5, 2006 ok, heres an update!!! thought my clutch was slipping as it felt a bit hesitatant (sp?) at about 4.5k revs took it down to Darren to see what it really was as my mechanics isnt up to scratch and ended up replacing fuel filter!! i reckon it was the original one too, rusty as F*ck! all the nuts and bolts had seized solid and worst of all thought id do it in my lunch break!! 40minute lunch break turned into an hour and a half!! fixed now and she runs like a dream!! Also booked her in at G-werks on 22nd June to have a full G-werks exhaust-Manifold and all fitted!! yay no more banging and booming powerflow Cr*p!! :notworthy: oh and i kerbed one of my wheels... :iamwithstupid: all fixed now though, been outside for past 3 hours smoothing out the wheel and polishing it back up!! looks ok. Next up: STOCK VR6 BUMPERS!!! YAY 8)

Shaggy 0 Posted June 24, 2006 yeah ive got 205/35/16 on the 9 inch rears and 195/40/16 on the fronts Where abouts did you get the 205/35/16 tyres from matey?? cant seem to find anywhere that sells them...or is it 215/35/16s??
G60SC_Stoney 0 Posted June 25, 2006 i think they are 205/35/16s on the back (could be 215s)...oh wait a minute maybe they are 215s? got them from http://www.mytyres.co.uk and they only do them in 215s!!! would go and check my car to be sure but darrens got it at gwerks for its new exhaust!! G60SC_Stoney 0 Posted July 13, 2006 ok really had a bad few days, actualy feel like throwing in the towel and saying F*ck it!! heres how it went.... 1) fuel pump went a few days ago while stuck in traffic, ok i knew it was on its way out and was going down to gwerks today (thursday) to be sorted along with a new section of exhaust and my new bumpers and for the car to be mopped. also made a funny 'scraping' sound before i switched off engine (after i managed to get her started for a few seconds to get it off the road) had to get towed home, nearly taking front bumper off in the process when we drove off garage forecourt where it gave up. 2) recieved fuel pump today with the intention on fitting it and getting the car down to gwerks for the above work to be done. 3) after fitting said fuel pump to car found out car had flat battery. ok also knew this was getting a bit dodgy so should have put a new one in a while ago. 4) fitted new battery and started car, that 'scratching' noise was still there, revved car a little to see if i could identify it, thought it came from somehwere around alternator/supercharger area, still coulkdnt figure it out, left it idling for 10 minutes to see if it got worse. It Didnt. So.... 5)...i thought 'sod it im taking it down to gwerks' so i dont miss my appointment, got it to about where the fuel pump went before and 'Bang' toothed pulley belt snapped!! so that was the end of that. 6) let her cool down and limped her home stopping every few minutes and letting her cool right back down to stop it blowing the headgasket- (mine had already gone by this point!! :bad-words: ) luckily there are a few pubs on the way to stop at and let us both fill up on the liquids!! 7) got her back to my girlfriends house and had another look, phoned Darren up to ask advice and reckon cambelt tensioner is too tight, local mechanic reckons its making the sound because bearings inside it are cooking themselves, and is really hot to touch (this would explain dodgy scraping sound) just got to figure out the reason why charger belt snapped, but.... 8) none of that matters because car is off down to gwerks on a trailer for Darren to sort out and fix.... becuase at the moment im considering selling it and buying a new mustang or an S4!! Craig 0 Posted July 13, 2006 thats exactly how i feel mate, water pump started leaking, put some sealant in, thought it had blocked a pipe as it was overheating! in the middle of this my drivers handle broke!!! so drained the coolant, went to start it and nothing?? thought what have i done! anyway fixed the handle but snapped the top plastic trim on the door card while putting it back on!! and cars still dead! gave up and phoned rac and he thinks the immobiliser isn't sending a current to start the car??? so he hot wired it only for it to overheat everywhere after 5 mins of idling!! so he thinks its either the head gasket or thermostat so it got towed to a garage and its now there waiting for their diagnosis in the morn!! where im guna sneak in and torch it tonight!! oh and when on the way home while it was steaming i curbed the front alloy!!! argh!!! but sh*t luck of mine the side wall must have hit the cut alloy on the curb and its sliced a big gash into it so i now need a new front tyre!! gutted!!! anyone want a g60!! pls!! im sure darren will have it back together soon! good luck
