How much crap do you carry about in your car?

Recommended Posts

Bought a washing machine today. the poor lads from the store had to wait for me whilst I cleared all this rubbish out of the back of the car before I could fit it in, and it dawned on me, "what IS all this rubbish doing in my car? why do I carry it around with me?"

Do it, go and look at all the crap in your car, and thorw it out! you don't need it.

1 pair of VW overalls, because you never know when you may need to stop and crawl about under the car

a pair of mechanics gloves

some "blue roll"

A bag of wheel bolts and 2 wheel spacers

A fridge, yes, a FRIDGE!! to keep my red bull cool.

6 cans of red bull

a 240v power inveter

a 12v air pump for blowing up tyres

a Tango umbrella (random!)

a manumission classics CD box

several VW Layerthorpe receipts.

A copy of fast bikes mag

last months PVW

loads of receipts

a print out of a drawing of the internals of a quaife 02a dog box

a tie with some penguins on it

a fleece

a golf dash air vent

several car phone chargers

2 pairs of gloves

a wooly hat

a spare brake/indicator bulb (and an empty packet for some other bulbs)

how much crap have you got!!!?

Generally I try and keep my car free of any clutter at all, but as I'm driving about all over the place and am in the middle of god knows how many jobs on the car at the moment, it's a little cluttered...

Amp and rack waiting to be bolted in

Driver's side lower-dash panel

Fusebox cover

11 litres of Synta Silver

2 new numberplates

Oil fiter & O-ring

Copper washer for sump plug

1x empty 5 litre Synta bottle

a random 4mm mini spanner that I found under the carpet

a gauge pod front with DDI bezels

DDI gauges

Gauge pod LCD filters

Gauge pod surround

4000 spare trim screws

a bent screwdriver also found under the carpet

an off-cut of sound deadening

misc off-cuts of audio cabling

a VW carrier bag

a red cigarette lighter surround from an Audi that doesn't fit a Corrado

A selection of CDs and their cases

2x metal plug lead removal tools

1x old water pump

1x broken aux water pump

A complete set of new thermostat and housing parts (not assembled)

My leather jacket

Some Smints that went AWOL from the box

A huge book of every street in the south-east of England

And that doesn't include the touch-up paint, road map, owner's manual, sunglasses, phone charger, Koni adjuster and probably something else that's in the glovebox

Jerry can of Super

Bin liners

Water

Josh Ritter CD

iPod (and iTrip)

Stainless Steel Cocktail spike (useful for sooo much)

My old headlight switch

Why do you guys carry legal plates? Surely it's a bit late to whip them on once you've been stopped?

I think Graeme (XBones) started writing his list shortly after Phatty started the thread. Should hopefully be done shortly. Never known someone to carry round so much stuff!

Mine's pretty basic really:

Sunglasses

De-icer

Parking disc &

Probably the last CDR that was removed when I put a new one in

Well mine aren't massively illegal but if I run into PC Promotion it's worth trying the 'I put them on for a show and can switch them back now' line - it's only velcro! :D

Have been done for tints before so am prepared for the next time...
