VR6Pete 0 Posted July 13, 2013 Not the best pic, but I'm rubbish, there's some serious fabrication under that bonnet :)

daves16v 1 Posted July 28, 2013 Not happy with the bonnet sound proofing as it was falling to bits and letting the bay down I decided to remove it today. I'd already decided i would remove the bonnet to make the job easier and after having done so I saw a photo opportunity.

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 29, 2013 Loving the HT lead guides. Nice touch! I'm not sure I like standard VR6 engines without the DOHC VR6 cover, but excellent work as always!
n3p 3 Posted July 30, 2013 Looks amazing, you've done a really good job there and I'm drawing some inspiration from it! Kept meaning to come and say hello but you were mid-conversation with others every time and didn't want to butt in!

daves16v 1 Posted August 15, 2013 Recently I said to someone "it's a work-in-progress", they said "oh what else could you possibly do?". Well I've done something else, the photo doesn't show it off too well because of poor light.
fla 9 Posted August 21, 2013 that is really fantastic Dave. How are you going to keep it polished though? Is it lacquered?
sexybourbon 0 Posted August 21, 2013 Amazing work on this car , was nosing round it at harewood last weekend and attention to detail is amazing
daves16v 1 Posted August 21, 2013 Hasan, no it's not lacquered, I'll just have to keep on top of it as and when.
daves16v 1 Posted August 27, 2013 Started burning oil since Harewood, took it out this Saturday and it got worse. Took it out Sunday and lost at least 1 cylinder. Pulled the plugs out to find badly oiled plugs 1 and 2, probably head gasket failure. So it's now sorned and tucked away in the garage :(
CazzaVR 0 Posted August 27, 2013 Sorry to hear that Dave- crappy news :( . Let's hope it's not the bottom end. Any black smoke on overrun?

Laser Mark 0 Posted August 28, 2013 Any black smoke on overrun? Yes, but more bluey than black. You could smell burning oil when behind him. Totally gutted for you mate, but hope you can get it sorted.
