Not the best pic, but I'm rubbish, there's some serious fabrication under that bonnet :)

Not happy with the bonnet sound proofing as it was falling to bits and letting the bay down I decided to remove it today. I'd already decided i would remove the bonnet to make the job easier and after having done so I saw a photo opportunity.

Loving the HT lead guides. Nice touch!

I'm not sure I like standard VR6 engines without the DOHC VR6 cover, but excellent work as always!

Looks amazing, you've done a really good job there and I'm drawing some inspiration from it! Kept meaning to come and say hello but you were mid-conversation with others every time and didn't want to butt in!

That looks stunning Dave.

It's a shame you have to put it back on!

Recently I said to someone "it's a work-in-progress", they said "oh what else could you possibly do?". Well I've done something else, the photo doesn't show it off too well because of poor light.

that is really fantastic Dave. How are you going to keep it polished though? Is it lacquered?

Started burning oil since Harewood, took it out this Saturday and it got worse. Took it out Sunday and lost at least 1 cylinder.

Pulled the plugs out to find badly oiled plugs 1 and 2, probably head gasket failure.

So it's now sorned and tucked away in the garage :(

Yes, but more bluey than black.

You could smell burning oil when behind him.

Totally gutted for you mate, but hope you can get it sorted.
