are there any other alternatives to the lupo wipers??when ever someone asks about the wipers everyone just point to the lupo wipers and the mods lock the thread, but like me not everyone like the look of the lupo wipers, they look like a pair of eels sliding around your windscreen,so what else is out there, and ive already done the dremmel mod which didnt make it that much better, but as usuall i cant put the question anywhere else because the mods just lock it

You could also put an extra washer between the arm and the spindle and also bend the arm slightly, these with the dremmel will make a huge improvement but still not as much as the lupo mod!!

Anyways - the Lupo arms are starting to look standard spec now so many people have them fitted, I must admit I wasn't too keen when I first saw them on a car but love them now :)

If you use the car as a daily driver this is one of the best and cheapest mods to do!

***** Wiper Mod that I did today *****

I went to the dealers cancelled my order for the old part numbers cause they are obsolete and bought 2 x V6X2 998 406 blades and arms, cost me £33 with my discount, fitted them with no probs did not need anything else and work a treat with no fouling.

These are what i used and the parts department said that is what everyone is buying.

Now going out for a drive in the rain.

Has anyone tried using bosch wiper blades for lupos on the new arms? Are they any better? Surely they have made some blades, they seem to have blades for all cars at Halfords.

Have been away from this thread for a bit, so whats the latest, does the new part number get you blade and wiper? And is it a different number for left and right?

Would it not just be a good idea to just delete the first 7 pages?

I dunno really - I think it shows a good history of how the wiper mod has come about :) Maybe I'm just sad like that indiff.gif

Ringo Star

Just go back a page :)

I know......we could get rid of the separate forums and just have one big forum for every single topic.

Let's have porn everywhere and 100 threads about broken door handles and lupo wipers.

i dunno tom... i think you'll find the whole lup[o wiper mod was noticed when Kieron Johnson had a passat as a hire car, the scanned the ETKA and found that the lupo used the same size wipers as the C. You gonna post a link to the Yahho group too...:lol:

What I was trying to say was more like......well if you're going to delete the unnecessary bits, why not just lock this thread, start a new one just with the part numbers in, lock that and make it a sticky.

It's not exactly difficult for people to extract the part numbers from this thread. Edit: Once people actually agree on which are the correct part numbers! But that's a whole other matter.

Got an unexpected surprise at the dealers today. I went in and asked for the lupo blades to replace mine as they're worn. He then popped out the back and returned with the passenger and driver's blades - complete with two drivers arms. I explained I only needed the blades but he just sold me the whole lot for the price of two blades, what a result

He was already aware of the Corrado mod! Some dealers it seems are on our side! Cool.

I intend to use one of the spare arms for the rear wiper. I plan to drill out the arm pins from the rear wiper and the lupo one and swap them over with new pins. Voila!

just done mine, has to be the easiest mod there is! Chris Corrado got the part numbers spot on, although i did have one dealer get a little confused with the 'v' at the start, then even more confused when he asked what year my lupo was, and i said i didnt have one, they were for a corrado! "er, do you not want corrado ones then??"

NO!!! :D

1x V6X2 998 406

1x V6X2 998 405

£40 from my dealer

If you look on EKTA, there is a whole page of possible Lupo blades and arms! Basically you just need to tell the parts man you need the 'Areo' blades from current Lupo GTIs, i.e. 2003 model year.

kin hell!!!!

this doesn't half go on!!! been following it for ages now but am i right in saying that Chris Corrado is correct with his part numbers of V6X2 998 406 and V6X2 998 405 ? :?

this thread has got to be the hardest one to follow out of everything i have read!! something definately needs to be done for others to follow it easier and know which parts to get! :?
