kdub 10 Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) AN EXCELLENT BIT OF SOFTWARE for grabbing youtube videos etc and allowing you to save them to your device. http://clipgrab.org Go to that link and select English as language. Then download the software (FREE). Now copy and paste the youtube address into the search bar and Grab Clip (Select mp4 Format). You will have in a few minutes the entire video saved to your hard drive for your viewing pleasure. Edited October 6, 2015 by kdub
Chuggs1 10 Posted October 6, 2015 Yes underneath, but around the side and up onto the cylinder head? One of their better shows or it could be rose tinted glasses. Was the car bought off pistonheads? I seem to remember the pics from the advert Dox - yes it was the PistonHead shed of the week http://www.pistonheads.com/regulars/ph-features-sheds/shed-of-the-week-vw-corrado-vr6/31454
Chuggs1 10 Posted October 6, 2015 Out of interest - can anyone advise - my ABS light comes on but only 10% of the time - most the time its off - any ideas what this might be? Is it likely to be wiring or sensor - would have thought if its the pump it would come on most of the time?

Dox 23 Posted October 6, 2015 Sensors aren't £3 either. It could be anything, mines had sensors, a used pump, new bulb in the light unit and I still have intermittent issues with another sensor and the pedal sensor on the servo. I'll be having another go at it over winter once sorn Mine does scan with VCDS BTW

My local garage (not a VW specialist) has the equipment and traced the fault to the brake pedal position sensor in the master cylinder. Like yours this was an intermittent fault, but showed 50% of the time.
mic_VR 3 Posted October 6, 2015 Had a few crappy days with my car, and certainly wasn't in a good mood with it by the time I got home last night..... might watch this again when it's running slightly better and I'm feeling the love a bit more.
Chuggs1 10 Posted October 6, 2015 Thanks guys - think I also saw someone mention possible wiring faults but cant remember where the wiring fault was - just under the car somewhere lol?!
Dox 23 Posted October 6, 2015 Thanks guys - think I also saw someone mention possible wiring faults but cant remember where the wiring fault was - just under the car somewhere lol?! Mine had the light permanently on when I bought it, a wheel sensor got me an mot, then the bulb blew and I replaced it. Inlet / outlet valve faults in the pump so I replaced the pump, then more intermittent faults show up with other sensors etc......
fendervg 33 Posted October 6, 2015 ABS is just a pita - mine has a temp related fault and a couple of errors on the pump valves. Could be the wiring, pump itself, or the PCB heating up due to a cracked case (that's my idea now after seeing the program), so will be on the look out for a pump that I can get reconditioned if anyone has one. I did like the vinyl stickers for refurbishing the front red VR6 badge - I wonder did they get them from Trimsport?
sankysvr6 0 Posted October 6, 2015 I did like the vinyl stickers for refurbishing the front red VR6 badge - I wonder did they get them from Trimsport? That was a good way of sprucing up the badges, just need to find the supplier now.
Jim Bowen 1 Posted October 6, 2015 I thought it was quite a good idea, but also wouldn't be too hard to do it with paint and flat it back then polish up. I thought if you wet a sponge with red paint and then pressed the badge onto it a few times to build up the paint you wouldn't need a steady hand or any masking. Shame i don't want a red badge. I have a spare, might paint that and sell it for £100

robrado974 1 Posted October 6, 2015 I painted my silver badges red . I used a quality artists brush . Once they are painted and flattened back , they look great .
seanl82 23 Posted October 6, 2015 I got a quote for an ABS pump recon from BBS Raman about a year ago. Iirc it was around the £150 mark but cant be sure. Turns out my pump was good after all anyway.

seanl82 23 Posted October 6, 2015 How did you find out it was good... Did they test it? No I didn't send it off in the end. I didn't realise initially that you cannot reset ABS error codes on VCDS from the main page. You have to go into the ABS specific menu and do it there. Once I'd done that, there was no other fault code beside the pedal position sensor which fixed the problem. :)
