So here she is off to her new owner- I 80s and 90s forced induction car collector- delivered straight to his storage facility . Overall its a huge success story as the car has been restored and has gone to an owner that can afford to keep her maintained and sheltered. She will be sitting alongside Renault turbos and alike . Basically the sales of the car purchased my new audi and a little change in the back pocket - everyone is a winner. Keyo 47 Posted August 13, 2022 (edited) Its has been a slow process on the garage build but things have been moving on now - my builders went on holiday so decided to do the slab after doing some research . Did the shuttering at the front then carried on to reinforce the concrete with lattice chairs at the base then mesh on top which gives a double layer tie- also squidgy 15 mm boards used around perimeter to allow for expansion . The concrete poor started at 5 pm 40 newton meter mix- then was was finished buffed off at 10 pm - it has been very challenging with the weather in the 30s- so opted for a pooling cure - wet slab and let the concrete sweat under the white reflective sheeting basically promoting a slow cure time with slow hydration (water escape) curing is what gives the concrete strength and if it dries out to quick you get plenty of cracking and a very powdery surface- only achieve 50 percent of strength as hydration is what causes the chemical reaction. Slab will be left to be pooled for 1 week- with sheets taken off every night- let the slab breath for a couple of hours then hose down and sheets back on. Walls and wall plate will by the on including cantic beams end of next week - then roof trusses delivered Monday and roof completed end of that week. Roof will be constructed with ready made trusses- tiles are Staffordshire clay Dreanoughts manufactured from local the clay pit and fired in the Black country - Arris Hips will be used to match the main roof which give a sharp roof line and low maintenance as you do not need to use mortar to point like a half round just a nail at the top and a dab on the bottom of grabber . Under sheeting I'm using the dreadnought extra thick. Im really in two minds just to paint the concrete blocks white internal instead of plaster boards and plastering. Same for the roof - really cant see no point plastering it - happy for the roof space to be seen and can stack the odd thing or two on the wooden trusses. Popped down the local quarry and they made me up some saddle stones from Granite to put under the base of the oak columns which will be placed on the façade of the front elevation . Shame there was so much music in the hanger preventing youtubers recording but I am sure the visitors at the event got a good nose around your motor 🙂 Garage is coming along nice. Black Magic will be tucked up cozy come winter.

Keyo 47 Posted August 22, 2022 (edited) It was a great day out- a few cars that really impressed me was the Ferrari 348 - saab 900 aero absolutely fabulous unique quirky styling and the carlsson is a box I would certainly like to tick been an ex saab turbo owner- also the lotus esprit never gets old- I did ask a few owners are they unreliable as they say - and was told of of multiple rebuilds and yes they are ! Got to say the celica GT4 sure win win that car . Edited August 22, 2022 by Keyo
Keyo 47 Posted December 20, 2022 (edited) Can’t recommend this trimmer enough based in Walsall - I gave him a rainbow bench and some recaro cloth - picked this up earlier - charged me £200 labour - not sure how these scene trimmers are charging people thousands ?when a 60 year old knocks this out the bag in a large shed - love the old skool traders ! Keyo 47 Posted January 7, 2023 (edited) Reading article today about multi story car parks- Ev are that heavy they are going to have to widen the parking bays- some of these suv and ev weigh nearly 3 tons- to put that into prospective my 6 meter long ford transit unladen is only 1.5 tones. Another point was that if you have no domestic charge- ie terrace house no front drive it will cost you 16p per mile charge point) whereas a good diesel is 13 p per mile. - so its a fake economy for some. One of these heavy bnw EV monsters in a car park not far from here the other day in Mere Green - pressed the accelerator or had an error and jumped the kerb and mained two women one -leg - other two broken legs- they are like tanks. Also people are seeing 100 miles knocked off the range in winter cold snaps. Apparently sales have dropped nearly 70 percent the last 6 months to. I will certainly not to be looking to buy one - I think they are a huge scandal , like these ground pumps that are just not powerful enough to keep a house warm in winter. Its the era of companies making big money off dumb gov grants and folks that really need helg get shite all bare a few shillings . Only the rich fitting ground pumps and buying EV. Cressa 44 Posted January 7, 2023 And from a fire perspective, the sodding things are a pain to try and put out. But everyone buries their head in the sand on this happening in a multistorey car park...... That fire appliances cant get into. M1 was shut for 6hrs due to 6 electric Jaguars on fire on a car transporter, then each one put in a tipper lorry and a full fire and police escort to a specialist yard in the West midlands. The world Is going mad and this is a bad future Oh well 🙄
Keyo 47 Posted January 7, 2023 Was pissing myself the other dome golden pension gen - several houses in the same in a village - they spent 25k each on one of these ground pumps- well they have all got log burners now as they are to stubborn to use the dometic power after been sold a crock of shite. James. 9 Posted January 7, 2023 Glad I’m not the only one with eyes wide open. Mate finally got his company Mustang. Night and day between his and my old bones. But 350 miles range in summer and 250 in winter. That’s some old mileage swing. Same with capability. I live in a small village with ups and downs (geographically). During the cold icy snap we had over xmas, neighbours with Teslas either knew the (very limited) capability of their cars, or had to abandon them at the foot of a small incline. Listen, I’m a technology guy. But I’m not sure if we’re moving forward (socially and physically).

Saw a you tube video recently, where a chap bought a Q5 with suspension failing to hold air. 4k at Audi. He fixed it for personal time plus a few hundred quid. So long as people roll their cars onto the forecourts and bend over, gougers’ll keep gougin’.
Keyo 47 Posted January 23, 2023 (edited) Right Ive got quite a lot of corrado parts left - I just need to split the mk2 parts from the corrado parts. Im keeping my storage boxes as paid quite a lot for them. So boxes will be tipped into your van or a good sized boot . A van would be preferable for collection. Based in Sutton Coldfield. Who wants it all free . First to say on post gets it - no shipping its collection only and you take the whole lot not pick and choose. Cheers.
