1. I'm local but it may be the blind leading the blind. What's the running issue?
2. Windows work fine and are not sticking. They even work when the fuse has blown if the door is open (others too got this symptom).
3. Just been searching the net and other have had the same problem, but with fuse 14 rather than 15 so I may have counted wrong. Either way it doesn't help as nobody had posted the cause, they were just looking for it like me.
4. I recently had a problem where my electric windows stopped working in my 2.0 1992 valver. Anyway it seemed to fix when I replaced fuse 15, but now its back. The fault is/was intermittent however after now replacing the fuse a few times, I'm getting a bit miffed. I know the fuse controls the windows and mirrors but does anyone else know what else? Anyone had a similar problem to point me in the right direction? I hate having to pull panels randomly looking for bust wires.
5. got a pair of black (painted) inpro angel ring headlights fitted with HID lows. There in need of TLC as the LED's that light the rings need replacing which I'll do when the weather gets warmer if I don't sell them before.
6. An interesting read about the 4 pot vw motors. http://www.retrorims.co.uk/vw-blog/vw-engine-tuning
7. Further searching found this http://www.ebay.com/itm/MK1-2-VW-Audi-Injector-bushing-kit-with-seals-Gti-Rabbit-Scirocco-Jetta-GTi-/350352201220 ebay link with instructions:- "When installing the fuel injector insulator bushings back into the head, snap them together, install the thin o-ring onto the bottom of the plastic cone before threading them into the head. But use blue Loctite (or similar thread locker / sealer) on the brass threads to lock and seal them into place" O ring at bottom as per Steveo, thread lock as per above instruction.

Ebay chip

Ok, a bit more than a week but here goes.....I would recommend the chip. It drives better (more lively) and the MPG is good. My 12 mile commute is made up of 50% country roads (sometimes fast), 25% village and 25% stop/start traffic which normally results in about 28-30 MPG which is possibly a bit better than before. This morning made 34 MPG as a bit clearer. 80 mile motorway run last week showed late 37-38 MPG. Doddle to fit too.

Newbie

I'm wondering what's gone wrong to make you think it's the metering head that's at fault. When I first bought my valver it let me down as the metering head must have been sticking. I worked out that foot to the floor cranking would get her started and ran it like this for a while. I purchased a badly advertised airbox and metering head from Ebay (£1 + £10 P&P) and swapped it the week before I was due to drive from Yorkshire to Southampton. The £1 metering head turned out to be a bargain as no more start problems and runs like a dream. The above may not help you, unless you've got a sticky metering head. But get yourself on Ebay or put a want add on here, I'm sure someone would help.
10. Welcome to the forum. I see you've bought Awingman's car, looks good. Did you know it was made from 2 cars that were welded together? only kidding, nice buy.
11. Put them in your suitcase and bring them 2nd hand bits home with you. A mate of mine once brought 10 or so motorcycle steering dampers back with him from the states to sell here as at a profit.
12. Parts ordered so maybe I'll be able to give a review of the 50mm intake soon. Steveo, a picture would be appreciated as I can't find one online, nor could I find the page in my Bentley
13. Cheers, you don't have the part number by any chance so I can find some on ebay.
14. Inserts out and now wondering if the o ring fits between these bits?
15. Looks like I'll need to get some more bits from ebay, lol
16. New lower injector inserts received today. I assume to fit these I just unscrew the brass guide, push the lower inserts in and then refasten the brass guide, or is there something else I need to know?
17. I wish she'd hurry up and croak then some proper tv can be watched, although my single malt is helping me get by at the moment.

Crackle black

My last car was a 40 year old MGB and they had a crackle finish dash. If you use the crackle paint, make sure its warm as it works much better. As for suppliers, try Moss - http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/
19. Silicone is a good exhaust sealant, but with the correct gaskets etc. Glad you're enjoying the C. I too have had fabulous idling and great (ish) mpg for the last few days, its a joy when they behave.
20. ....or have others logged on just to avoid the tripe that the other half is watching. I'd rather drive pins into my testicles than find out who killed Lucy Beal.
21. Just got my 50mm intake back from powder coating and the process has melted the bottom of the injector seat/inserts but the top part stayed in place. Fortunately I needed to replace anyway as 2 were broken. They look like they push fit but before I go whacking them with a hammer/drift, thought I best check. I did a search and some look like push fit, some screw fit. I'm confused now as are they also look to be one piece or two piece. Is there a bottom/top part to the insert? Couldn't find any photographs to give me a clue. Any help would be appreciated.
