  1. Probably be quicker too... most US Corrados were detuned from their European counterparts  Poxy 2.8l V6s
  2. Why not just spray paint the grille white and paint in the letters in black...? I know it will come out looking a bit grey, but hey. Or you could put slats in like the main grille and put the numbers on the slats...
  3. Cheeky sod  I'm only the purist because I've had death threats if I do anything to the Campaign... Isn't it amazing that just by mentioning that they were made SuperSprint it has totally swung the conversation on this one  I still think that at the end of the day, if and when my VW exhaust wears out, the Corrado will get a SuperSprint mega system. My Scirocco Storm wears a Jetex twin-pipe system at the moment which needs replacing after 9 years of service, but Jetex haven't got any in a the moment apparently as there's too little demand for them to make a batch. So I've got to wait, good job it's sitting pretty in the garage at the moment....
  4. I tend to just disconnect the fuse on the power before wiring up....
  5. Do you mean the second one is this one and Its french BTW But... but... but... it's just... sooooo.... UGERLY!
  6. Scott, forget, remind me where DubSport is....
  7. Okay Nigel, it appears people have the wrong idea about this. The exhaust I think you are talking about is probably the SUPERSPRINT MEGA system, which was a 4" round system with a 3" internal pipe and lots of sound-proofing. I used to have one on the G60. Excellent build quality and hang together really well. BUT they do need extra strong hangers as they weigh quite a bit. Bloody good sound and I think they look excellent. So phooey to you all
  8. I dont wanna be picky but I kinda think thats a bit hypocritical of you there, considering you had a go about someone posting your articles on here!! hope you get permission!! I was just gonna reference it...
  9. Roddy, any chance you could get me a copy of the article and I'll guarantee a place in The Sprinter...
  10. Just gotta love those Le Castelle wheels on the GTXs, think they really look marvellous!
  11. Roddy, don't forget to do me a write-up and post some photos so I can put them in the Club Magazine....
  12. How did you guess? Yep, it's me again, how did you guess, coz last time you were really impressed What's a nobe btw
  13. Nah, there were loads of 'em in Germany, only a few were "officially" imported into the UK, and only a handful were ever converted to RHD.
  14. Corrado currently 66,666 miles (seriously!), 92k reg, 0-60 dunno yet, haven't really tried it, mpg about 25, chickened out at 140mph Scirocco 129,000 miles, 83A reg, 0-60 about 8.0 sec, 40mpg, topped out at 136mph...
  15. Still got the Scirocco Storm here, actually my second one out of 8 I have owned... Boosted to 142hp in 8v form with Schrick cams it certainly flies and never fails to bring a smile to my face. Currently tucked away in the garage for the show season to start again, but might come out for a track day before then. It's wonderfully set up on Koni suspension and Yokohama rubber.
  16. Bit late for that really, he's already done it... Now if you'd've asked before hand
  17. The EVO5s look good, I know - that's what my Campaign is mounted on right now.. Photos to come soon...
  18. Doubt I can make dubFreez (it's bloody freezin' here at the moment), but I'll be at Stanford and GTi, unless you're coming to the Corrado Club AGM in March...?
  19. Just a quick throwaway thread... What cars have you guys had before Corrados.... I'll start the ball rolling.... and rolling.... and rolling.... 1976 Golf N 1100 3-door 1978 Golf N 1100 (Broke for engine) 1977 Ford Transit (Blue/White) 1983 Scirocco GL 1973 Land Rover Series III 1984 Scirocco Storm (Still got this one) 198? 20. Course you can bring a Glof, I'm not responsible for any laughing though. I think most people on the list have had, at least at some time in their car ownership, a Glof. Does it have bench or bucket rear seats btw? :?
  21. Go on then, you've twisted my arm. Are you gonna be at many events this year? Bring 'em down to one of them and I'll get you a pint.
  22. :D Currently 32, 10 years ncb, 3 points and getting £659 on my VR6 (standard), but next time will either go with a quote I had from http://www.elephant.co.uk of £450 (ish) or might go for agreed value, low mileage option with somebody. My Scirocco came down to £115 this year, that's with agreed value of £3,600 low mileage and they know about all the mods. (145bhp engine, different wheels, steering wheel, stereo etc.) Can't complain about that, although I can't do more than 3,000 miles. Last year I managed to 700 in it....
  23. That one is acutal a VW motorsport 16vG60 well it was, he totalled it and its being rebuilt i believe I think that story is total bullsh*t personally, it may have a 16vG60 lump in there, but really - can you see VW using Fiat rear lights? :shocked!: And that front-end... :pukeright:
  24. Well if it's a nice engine, let me know when you get shot as I might upgrade the Scirocco (again!)
