    Leather colours

All this talk of piping reminds me of Alan Partridge explaining the opening sequence of The Spy Who Loved Me: "He's being chased by these Russian shits in black jumpsuits, with lemon piping" anyway thought id put some pictorial to this thread: Grey Leather anyone?
  3. maybe me then.... spend a bit of time driving round that way...

    LPG conversion

Looking into possibility of getting an LPG conversion done on my Rado VR6, heard it runs a higher octane than Petrol for a start so should be better performance wise, and hopefully will be a bit cheaper in the long run after conversion... What do you guys think? Anyone had this done?
  6. damn, wheels cool, rest of the cars nice too, excellent colour... that what you need to hear? ;) probably like me with the lowering, decided the only way mine will ever be low enough is if I remove the suspension completely and mount the car on these:
  7. Hosepipe ban? no problem! looks like these guys might make a profit from it... http://www.miracledrywash.com/ anyone tried it? any good?
  8. They can't put a complete ban on car modifying, theres way too much money in it.... tests similar to Australia or NZ wont be a bad thing, just hope they don't take it too far...... Does anyone actually know what magazine this came from and the date? loads more on it hiding here: http://www.edition38.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=38204&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30 Musicmans post...
  9. From a book I have on the golf and it's variants: VW named their cars after various winds: Scirocco, Vento, Bora and Jetta. VW claimed Golf was a variant on the wind in the Gulf of Mexico... and yeah, corrado wasnt named in this group for some reason....
  10. the VR that was driven by Richard Hammond in the 'future classic' thingy on Top Gear, who owns that one?
  11. Welcome... :D Better check that the rails for the drivers seat havent been welded in further back if the clarkson drove it...

  18. Need to get new discs and pads for mine, looking at getting Pagid pads as rate them from previous experience and going to probaly try brembo max discs.... although seems to be a lot of support for standard VAG discs on here.... always gone with dot 4 brake fluid from GSF in the past....
  19. says to the left of this post ;) Crowthorne 'Berk' Shire From Stocksbridge near Sheffield originally but me folks moved when i was icle.
  20. Right, done from my crap memory, so may be a bit vague (especially size of spanner required) in places. First you need a spring compressor (Something like this: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=040211224&r=2205&g=107 ) Jack front of car up and support on axle stands, take front wheels off and unclip abs sensor cradle from suspension strut, now undo the two bolts (spanner size 18 and 19?!) holding the bottom of the strut on to the wishbone... Remove the nut (18?) at the top of top cap assembly while holding in place central moulded in nut on shock arm?! (may require Allen key instead of spanner for this) to stop everything from spinning and not undoing, also holding onto strut inside arch for support as the whole lot should now drop out... remove from car.... Best to secure on a bench (vice), remove rubber top cap thingy (slides off) and compress spring until free from top cap, undo next (18 ) nut, while holding in place central moulded in nut on shock arm?! (8 or 9) to stop everything from spinning and not undoing.... The top cap should now slide off. Put in place new top cap and ensure spring etc. is in position to be seated properly, tighten nut holding smaller etc. on to top cap, and slowly release spring clamp.. check its all seated properly and tight.... Put all back together in reverse order and that should be that... Little bit long winded for me and my descriptions probably aren't great, but hope this helps at least, please feel free to correct or add to this if needed.... :)
  21. Hello! Been having ABS issues, namedly it dont work.... Narrowed it down to the front left ABS sensor, BUT I have a LHD Rado vr6, so its got a mk2 Teves abs system, not a mk4 Teves system as on the RHD. Obviously im going to replace this sensor but first would like to check with you guys (and gals) that the sensors on the mk2 and mk4 teves systems are the same.... Maybe luckily, Ive got to go to Germany next week(whoohoo, 200bhp mk4 golf to drive thats not mine + autobahns) so if the sensors on my rado are different then I can try and find a car parts place... Whats the german for 'front left ABS sensor'??? :? Cheers...
  22. Sorry if this is a repost, just been on a little surf of boredom on BarryBoys, and found this thread: http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=19151&highlight=corrado sum it up theres a too fast too furious corrado there.. Better add it to the write off list IMO....
  23. from joe, lol C20XE engine modded inlet plenum (inlet trumpets) strait through zorst bout 160ish hp and bout 750kgs. ummm adjustable power steering? AMT subframe. Rear subframe chopped and anti roll bar added... ummm never officially tested 0-60 etc but similar spec minis see 5.5secs and 140mph and 1/4 miles of anything between 14-15secs depending on traction!!
  24. its a pretty standard vauxhall redtop at the mo running about 150-160bhp as far as i know.... measured car stats, as measured against a standard corrado vr6: 0-60 bye bye rado.. 60-100 (going onto private road) rado starts to keep pace with mini, just... 100+ (err, on private road?!) bye bye mini (aerodynamics methinks)....
  25. Dunno if anyone remembers this mini from no rice, Running a 2.0 16v engine and is rather stupid... Well, my friend Joe is the owner and works nights, he decided to record himself driving home one night... http://videos.streetfire.net/video/F1A31424-4E1F-4B63-B8F1-415301FA83C6.htm
