  1. as far as I am aware you are not to use films over the top of LEDS to change there colour, the emit light of a very specific wavelength, which means that putting a filter over them just makes them go dull.

I was told this after I had pissed about with my rear light on my bike using white leds with the red lense, it just went some shitty dull pink colour. After I fitted red leds it was incredibly bright

  2. Mine will be in the car and running by the new year, there you go, confirmed date and time....

Oh hang on thats only 3 weeks isnt it ? :? lol

Thanks Jay I will probablies be contacting you about the wiring at some point. I dont actually have the mk4 central locking system so I will probablies have to retain the corrado one, but it should be ok.

  3. Project Update:

I have spent the past 2 years pondering over ownership of a yellow car, and I came to the conlusion (with some severe prodding by mr horrocks) that it wasnt for me.

So I have bought a bordeaux red vr as the new donor car, as most of your know. I completed a 14 hour road trip down to sunny (or foggy as it were) Norfolk to collect it.

Will have pictures to follow, but basically my christmas is going to be spent transferring all the 4wd bits and r32 install etc etc from the yellow one to the red one (great fun).

I will be following the renshaw route of fitting the entire R32 wiring loom, which will also give me control of the haldex diff to boot!

Anyways check the for sale board shortly as I will have for sale:

    2.9 vr engine

    VR autobox

    Full stainless supersprint exhaust system

    a very nice black interior

and possibly even a nearly new set of bilstein dampers and springs

Plus various other bits and bobs that I will be discarding in the conversion.

    happy days....

  4. very true. the only time you will get 100% to the rear on a haldex (and its possible) is if the front wheels have absolutely zero traction.

if you want rear wheel drive then you have to rotate the engine 90 degrees, or stick it in the back.

  5. haway man for christ sake its not that bad.

Dink how many engine swaps have you done in your time? just curious.

I dont recall having all these problems and the engine has been in a running state in my car for the past 5 months. Granted the exhaust thing I didnt know about as I had to use the 4motion exhaust, and you dont have to weld in a bulk head as you are not fitting the full mk4 loom.

So sit back, take a deep breath, and chill :D

p.s. Phat went to extensive lengths to get his r32 running on vr management and concluded it wasnt possible as the cam timing sensors and pickups are totally different between the 2 engines.

  6. Nice to meet you last night Mr R :)

Went out in this car last night, and I can safely say its the most sorted corrado I have ever been in.

Despite being very low, and running on 17s the ride quality was awesome. The interior is out of this world, and the engine is just something else, absolutely stonking amount of pull from no revs at all.

Fantastic car, hard to put into words really.

Must must MUST getting mine running at chirstmas!!!
