  1. Now then,

Does anyone know if this insurance database that they go on about holds the details of the cars that have been stolen and subsequently paid out?

I bought a corrado a couple of years ago and it got nicked pretty much straight away, all the parts have turned up on a golf from the same location, including some bits that totally give it away.

Now the only way I could prove this would be through the engine number, but when I got paid out I had to hand in all the docs for it including the V5, so I have no record of it. If I contacted the insurance company would they be able to tell me what the engine number was? or are they so stupid they actually bin the details?

  2. Andi did you get a resolution to this?

I have the same problem on my mams vr6, I can hear a clunk when I operate the switches and nothing else?

I am sure i can work it out but any information will be helpful ;-)

  3. CoxyLaaaaaaaad!,

If someone really wants it then I'll negotiate something with who ever steps forward, but for the time being I am just cracking on and getting it ready for the road. I have only advertised the engine on this forum so I wasn't planning on a huge response tbh, it was kinda spurr of the moment kinda of thing. But thinking about it now I just want to get on and get it on the road as I've been dying to drive it now for, well, 4 years!

Will I have it on the road before yours though, thats the question?

Good plan re the engine. I am almost in the same boat as you. working on a project then looking at new engines before its even on the road lol

Best just get the car running so you can actually get some proper enjoyment out of it before you start on a revised project.

Not sure who will be on the road first. It depends on a few decisions I have to make. If I go the quick route then all i need is the brake lines connecting up, the exhaust making, and a few bits of tidying up then I am done. But I really need to fit the abs system and get the car painted, so it may be a while yet. I am sticking with my March deadline. Actually I also need to sort out a 4wd controller too. I am toying with the idea of sourcing a full mk4 wiring loom and installing that including the standard 4wd controller.

    Descisions descisions!

  4. lol dink

The man standing next to his large pink wall need not make styling comments lol

I have to agree I would paint it though. I have seen a yellow corrado with an unpainted carbon bonnet and in my opinion it didnt look right. It will look a lot better on a dark car

  5. poking out of a hole in the bonnet like the auzzy subaru tuners seem to love doing? mounted on the steering wheel? erm... oh i dunno... grafted onto the inside of one of those old virtual reality headsets which has live images from a bumper mounted camera beamed into your eyes for you to wear while driving? :?

    LOL very dry

  6. I cleaned the boot out and swept up all the iron filings the other day, it looks good inside now, apart from the fact that the boot floor is red and the rest of the car is yellow. But you have to look past that :)

I think for now I will pipe my brakes and maybes install a brake bias valve to stop the rears locking up.

then its exhaust time, then MOT time :-)

Still might need to sort out a 4wd controller so if there is any electronics experts hiding in the corners of the forum fancy a project then please contact me :-)
