Could I be bold enough to say that my car is now the only corrado on the planet with fully functioning (well will be when i pipe them up) 280mm vented rear brakes with audi S2/R32 rear calipers?
Could well be 8)
I will post a picture tomorrow as its on my phone and I have no way of transferring it at home.
See I am still making progress :-)
still undecided about the engine options

how about doing a quick test and firing the car up with no belts attached. That way the water pump will not be running, nor any of the other potential culprits. so if its still knocking, start praying!
-
very very nice

Phats car is obviously a bit more suited to the track with its modified running gear and engine. PLus what he doesnt tell you is that it run the same time as his mk4 over a quarter mile sprint, but the corrado was throwing a sensor error up at the time, plus the mk4 got the addition of schrick cams too which would lift the power figure again.
I am looking forward to seeing what it becomes in the next couple of months
-
the driver could have been fired miles away from the crash site, seeing as though the cockpit opened right up.
-
I would rather have a modded mk1 gti than a g40. They look so cool. and they are quick
-
excuse my spelling I wasnt looking at the keyboard or the screen when I typed this out - and I cant be arsed to fix it

just worries me.
To quote from the article:
"plans to introduce new rules governing the thesting and registration of modified cars could threaten ther very existance. The DVLA is considering making such cars pass the single vehicle approval test. This would effectively make it impossible to road register cars such (the editors modifed capri)....
....The purpose of the DVLAs review of car redistration policy is to reduce organised crime (vehicle identity theft)....
etc.
It goes on. Thing is, I suppose once the car is on the road, the only people I really need to tell is the insurance companies I suppose?
I wish I'd built a dax rush now! least I would know where I stood!

Read something worrying today in this months Practical Performance Car.
Apparently the government and the police are trying to impose new rules that govern modified vehicles such that any modification to the car will require SVA approval. That is bad. Also the DVLA want to know the history of all doner part put in the car. What happens when you dont know the full history? do they confiscate the car? Can the DVLA tell the history of the engine etc from the numbers?
I feel like our rights are going to be infringed soon.
:x

Does anyone else think the colour is reminiscent of dog turd?

nope.

I dont think you need a press at all. I have done loads of bearings, and all I have ever done is tap them in with a drift.
Never had any problems at all.
-
why would you want to do it?
I thought they were a smaller capacity due to some FIA regulation thingie
-
not for me
-
I have a set of OZ prodrive P1 scooby wheels to go on the angry lemon, et 52, and hole centre 1mm smaller than the vw one. so, I am getting hub centric spacers made up 14mm thick, to match th esmaller center hole
