  1. Well – I’ve been flitting around on here for ages, originally looking for a G60 (I chickened out) – then looking for another at the end of the summer. Of course the right car was never in the right place – I missed loads, and saw quite a few that didn’t hit the spot. Now I’ve finally got a VR6 - thanks to Peanut!!! (isn’t it typical – I’ve seen a few really nice G60’s advertised since I got my VR  ) You may have seen Peanut’s thread about the mods he’d completed…unfortunately I couldn’t stretch (excuse the pun) to buying the car on the tasty split rims, but I’m liking the speedlines all the same. So apart from the wheels, I’ve also put the standard grill back on (soon to be colour coded thanks to a swap with Stan24v  ). So spec - Corrado vr6 Burgundy Pearl metallic (LC3U) - this was the clincher - my fave colour  1993 L-reg Fsh VW/Stealth/Dubsport 130500 miles Polished engine cover Magnecor 8.5mm plug leads ITG induction kit Magnex (cat back) stainless exhaust Konigsport coilovers Red tinted rear lights (Peanut also painted the outside of the headlight lenses) Lupo wipers Colour coded eyebrow spoiler Colour coded delocked door handles – need to refit the passenger one Smoked side repeaters Passat moonroof conversion and flush switch panel Beige storm leather interior minus door cards (including carpets, plastics, headlining etc etc) good condition no rips or tears Sony single cd headunit with focal components Cobra alarm and immobiliser with full closure I’ll put a few snaps up later – no port at work. Things I have noticed – I love the low down lazy driving the engine provides I love the howl after 4K rpm! I need to get the coilovers up a tad…too many speedbumps on the way to work Slow leak from rear alloy (I’m impressed I noticed that something didn’t feel quite ‘right’ at the back!) In short – I’m impressed – so much so that it’s booked in at Stealth for it’s annual service in 4wks time.
  2. Me too - I've got a Cobra alarm...and the fob is annoying – it’s shabby and could fall apart at any moment. I’d like the fully functioning flip-key to work the full closure alarm. I'm not really interested in the flip key if it won't work the alarm - misses the point IMO. So does anyone know if a Cobra alarm can be made to operate off the flip-key :?: Would I be advised to contact my local alarm fitters or would they not be interested in fiddling round with this? Cheers for any advice Ryan
  3. Oops - didn't think of searching for this - thought it was me being picky!
  4. I’m getting annoyed with my Cobra alarm fob. Apart from needing a new battery, it is annoying in that it’s not part of the key fob iteslf (like the modern VW’s). Also the buttons are not brilliant, and I’m always having to press it twice because it doesn’t open first time, or it opens then closes immediately. Is there any way of ditching the cobra fob and getting a VW flip key to operate the alarm? Cheers, Ryan
  5. I fell foul of this (running black/silver plates) with the rocco recently. The Policeman told me why he had stopped me, and I was polite in answering all of his questions. He said that he would deal with the offence by being as lenient as he could be - £30 fine (I was thinking more along the lines of a telling off and making me swap them asap) I swapped them on the spot as it happened... Now I can sort of understand the German plate debate - Badges/Umluats (sp?)/broken characters and such like - but these plates are still legal on UK vehicles, and you can get new ones to re-fit on those vehicles, they are clear and easy to read (he took my reg and gave it to his buddy to check out my address (good job I was straight with him!) - so - WHAT'S THE FECKIN' PROBLEM????? I don't have a problem with the man on the ground - although he overtook 3 cars, then cut me up, and put his blue lights on 1/2 mile later to signal me to stop (he was keen). I just want to know the reasoning behind it. Why is it so bad for me to put these plates on my car, when an AC Cobra (Almost as fast as my rocco  ) can legally wear them? Oh - and they're attached with Velcro - is that illegal too? :cuckoo:
  6. Yep - cheapest super for me too :) Tesco's seems to be about 4p/l more :?:
  7. Yeah Supermarket stuff is 97 (execpt Tesco's - 99) as is Esso. Optimax is 98, BP ultimate 98 (I THINK!)
  8. I've found this with all my petrol VW's. 2 mk1 rocco's, 2 mk2 Golf GTi's - so the VR will get super everytime.
  9. Congrats mate :D (post some pics up soon)

  11. A guy from my old work runs his Renault wagon (Scenic I think) on Veggie oil - only through the summer - he was looking at getting the pre-heater for winter use. There is a specific forum for all this malarchy - he was on it quite alot researching various things. Useful that he did, because when I mentioned that I might try it in the Bora he said that would be a VERY bad idea - the modern (PD in this case) engines don't react too well to a tank full of veggie oil apparently!!!
  12. Bird in the Petrol station this morning... Bird - What makes that car then? I know it's a volkswagen... Me - It's a Corrado Bird - I thought so, that's really nice, does it have leather? Me - Yes (thinks please shut-up and swipe my card - I'm well late for work  !)
