I did this same thing last year, no problem using that type of wire, just buy good quality wire and use the oil proof sheething available off ebay, good quality terminale and you'll be fine.
The only problems i ran into were trying to find some of the more obscure Vw terminals such as the headlamp connectors and fan spade connectors, also some of the big positive feeds into the fusebox were buggers to track down. Wiring suppliers in Derbyshire had almost all the stuff recquired though.

Fit as in screw into the steering rack, yes they Will but the ZF arms are longer than the 16v TRW made rack.
The tyres could rub on the inner wings, afairc there was also a difference in the threaded part that screws into the rack, one part had a different profile end shoulder that buts up to the inner rack. I did this conversion from TRW to vr6 ZF rack 10+ years ago so my memory of every detail lacks a bit..

VEEDUBBED'S done it again, always finding obscure stuff for our carriges.
1 set of late style fog lamps and indicators, not perfect but not crap either for 20+ year old components
1 fog has a tiny pock on the glass and one of the indicators has a couple of cracks. £140, i've seen these buggers go for £170+..
1x foglamp glass (drivers side) and 2 good condition inner reflectors £50.
1x Vr6 ABV 2.9 original Bosch airflow meter and air filter top bit. £60.
1x '92 version foglamp/indicator, no damage and reflector good. £70.
1x Vr6 2.9 starter motor of 19.000km engine. £40
1x fuel injector rail with injectors and fpr. £50
If you need anymore photos just give me a shout.

Wow, Australia..i' m based in Rome, Italy and i thought i was far away!
Right, the rear Windows are indeed all in one pièce and getting the buggers out isn't easy..i cut out about 7/8 of them years back when scrapping a few but unfortunatly i only have one Left spare.
I'll get in touch with a car breaker mate of mine and see if he has one of the only corrados Left in Rome and ask How much he wants For them.
Cheers.
